Such a great place to have on Kiawah/Seabrook! I love meeting friends there for a glass of wine (or two) before dinner. Nice selection of meat and cheese plates.

This bar is amazing! I love the options. I love the concept. The only downside it is not where I live.

A great and fun way to taste the wines YOU want instead of depending on others to select them at a wine tasting. Very social and fun atmosphere. Nice outdoor patio and menu has awesome small bites. Will definitely go there again when I am in Charleston again.

Worth checking out for date night. Great food and plenty of wine selection. Ordered pork schnitzel with fresh made wine gravy, mushroom rizoto and vegetable medley. And for appy we had baked brie. Everything was exceptional and not a bad price for the quality of the food. Nice interior and good service. Great place to dress up and take your significant other or someone special.

Would give the food and service a 4.5 if I could. Would be nice to just be able to order some wines by the glass versus having to jump up to serve ourselves from time to time. Crab cakes were wonderful but needed more more aioli. Portions were good. Salads and mussels were great. We enjoyed that we were not rushed.

Excellent food! Highly recommend! Cannot wait to return! Our servers, Dara and Dina were great! (There was also one other lady who was great too but I didn’t catch her name! She had short, dark hair though!!Sorry for not getting it before we left!) The staff are very personable and made our evening memorable. We were celebrating a birthday and they made us feel so special! The items we tried were: -Warm crab and artichoke dip -Caesar salad -Jumbo lump crab cakes -Shrimp, corn, & bacon ravioli with additional shrimp added on top ALL of the food was absolutely delicious! We were told that the chef is from Maryland and that explains why the crab cakes are to die for! They are basically all jumbo lump crab meat with very minimal amount of filler. They are pure perfection! The mustard style aioli is wonderful too. I did ask for a little extra on the side but other than that, perfect! Truly the best I’ve ever had. There are so many different types of wine around the room and I thought it was fun to read about the wines and sample them. At the end of the meal, they brought some key lime pie and a glass of champagne for the birthday celebration and it was truly special! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent meal accompanied by a great staff! They use local ingredients and have fresh seafood. The shrimp are local from Crosby’s so they are very tasty! We are spoiled with lots of great restaurants in Charleston but I will say, this is now one of my favorites! We had a reservation and were seated promptly upon arrival. We went on a Sunday night and they stayed pretty busy but some walk-ins could definitely have come in to grab a meal. Not sure what it normally looks like in there but based on everything I read, you should make a reservation! We called to make our reservation but I saw on the screen while we were dining that you can reserve a table in Resy as well. Thank y’all for a wonderful evening! We are looking forward to coming back soon!

Good here was really great! Three people in our party did the wine experience. They loved getting a new wine each course with their food. I had the steak frites! My filet was cooked to perfection! The charcuterie board was awesome and I liked that you could pick what you wanted! I did wish they offered some substitutes with the steak frites! I would have loved the mashed potatoes but those were only served with the meat loaf! Overall, great experience and would recommend!

The wife and I came here for dinner. As we have never been to Kiawah before we were recommended to fortyeight if we wanted to stay downtown. The wife order the falling in love, and loved it. I got the old fashion and it was to be expected, still very good. We got the garlic fries for an appetizer and the garlic aioli was absolutely out of this world, it was so good. The wife got the shrimp and grits and she said it was amazing. I got the meatloaf, and I have never in my life thought I would order meatloaf. The mashed potatoes were perfectly creamy, the asparagus was perfectly cooked, and the meatloaf was both moist yet not soaked. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The meal was not cheap but was way worth it.

Absolutely one of the best places to visit while here in Kiawah. Everything is amazing. From the selection of wines to the amazing food. They have a variety of cocktails as well. Wines are all price points and it’s cool to try something you wouldn’t ever dare to buy a bottle of. The staff are all very friendly and the atmosphere is nice.

A self pour wine bar! So much fun. You cannot go wrong with the boards! Be sure to try the goat cheese and bacon jam...it's the best! I also had the beet salad which was quite good. The fruit mixed in with the cheese mixed nicely together. The margherita flatbread had a great flavor with an awesome balsamic glaze on it. Definitely stop here! It's a great time.

Visiting from Minnesota. We had Dara as our server and she was very knowledgeable about the food menu and had good recommendations. Shrimp and grits with andouille sausage was wonderful and we split the crab cakes too. Apparently the chef is from Maryland and he definitely don’t skimp on the lump crab meat! Thanks for the wonderful experience on our trip ♥️

Such a fun spot! We love the vibe there and the owners are so generous and kind! It's great to choose different meats and cheeses each visit. My daughter loved the Alfredo and is waiting for it to come back on the menu.

Amazing wine experience here. Server was wonderful. Food selection was limited, but what they had was quite good. But the star of the show here is the wine selection, which was quite impressive. Can't wait to go back.

What a wonderful meal we just had, in a lovely ambiance with an excellent waiter. This restaurant is in Fresh Fields village and is very charming. We sat outside with heat lamps and it felt so good! Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable and we really enjoyed talking to him. Food was fantastic. The filet mignon with garlic roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts in a light sherry cream sauce was delicious and perfectly cooked. The crabcakes were really great lump crabmeat with almost no breading. They had some old bay seasoning in them which detracted from the freshness and sweetness of their flavor, but they were still good. The succotash that accompanied them was fresh and tasty. Pasta and ceasar salad were good. The sparkling rose wine was exactly right, and they have a huge selection of wines, with a good selection of beer as well. The homemade vanilla ice cream was from a different era where you can literally taste the fresh ingredients and the truffles with Madagascar vanilla, Grand Marnier, Kentucky bourbon and Kalhua were refined and totally delectable. Very very worth dining here. Mostly for adults, but they were great with kids too.

Great place to enjoy some wine and grab a bite to eat. We came here for lunch and ended up sitting at the bar which was situated in the middle of the room. We ordered some food, the chicken caesar sandwich was really good, and proceeded to the wine pour machines for some tastings. You can either pour a tasting, half glass or full glass with the prices for each shown above the bottle. Such a great tasting concept and they featured a lot of really good wines. We also walked around the section where you can purchase wine and they had a really solid selection of wines to choose from...and a very impressive Pinot selection! Great spot for a casual lunch or dinner with a great spin on sipping wine!!

The waitstaff here is just amazing! We had a reservation for dinner and had arrived early. We were seated immediately. We ordered a one meat and cheese charcuterie for an appetizer, which was delicious. My husband had steak and fries. The steak was tender and flavorful. I had shrimp and grits. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the grits were seasoned just right. We will definitely go back!

Wine Tasting at your own pace. Trick your brain into believing you are doing a study in wines. An education of regions. Pretend you are a Somaleir. Actually, you are having fun with friends at a place where the service is great. Oui.

This place was an absolute savior for us on a Monday night business dinner! We were looking for somewhere to take clients to a nice dinner and most of the restaurants on the island are closed on Mondays. 48 Wine Bar and Kitchen did an awesome job. I liked how in their private dining room the table was square instead of rectangular so each of our 11 guests could all see each other.

Really enjoyed our dinner tonight. Didn't have reservations but there was a table on the patio that we were able to be seated at. Staff was attentive and very friendly. Tried several of their white wines. Had the hot crab appetizer and I had pan seared salmon and my husband had the crab cakes. Both were excellent. Will make sure to dine here again on our next trip back.
