It was our first visit. Came to the beach with 16 other people and it rained almost all week. Wednesday it was our 20 anniversary and my husbands birthday. We went by ourselves and it was the best food we had ever had! I almost cried (which has never happened before) at the most satisfying taste my mouth has ever had!! The owner even offered to buy us a glass of champagne, which normally I’d never turn down but we were in a food coma! Filet was perfect, crab meat was amazing, coconut shrimp awesome, husbands Greek appetizer salad was amazing, and his dinner of Rockfish was WOW! A friend recommended it and we are so glad we went and we will definitely be back!!! Thank you so much for your southern hospitality and delicious awesome food!! We will be spreading the word about this place for sure!!!! Worth the trip!! ❤️❤️
We come here at least twice a year from Virginia Beach. They do an excellent job from start to finish. The staff is the best! We have never had a bad meal here. I will say, the Chef does Fresh Rockfish better than any place we've ever had! Can't wait to come back again.
The best meal I have had at a restaurant in a long time. We had a large party celebrating my parents 60th wedding anniversary, my moms birthday, mother’s day and my dad’s book signing. We also celebrated the awesome food and the Outstanding service. Thanks Angela you were incredible handling such a large party and a wild one at that. The owner came over and remembered my parents. It was a magical night. Highly recommend it and will return the next time on the outter banks.
What a great place to have. The staff was awesome. We were at the beach for five days and had dinner there twice. If you get a chance to go there it would be well worth your time. I give it five stars. Thanks Brian and Debbie for a great time.
Another fabulous meal at this wonderful restaurant. In the 20+ years that we have been vacationing in OBX this has become a must on our restaurant list; and I can honestly say we have never been disappointed. The food and service is always excellent.
Delicious food, quaint ambiance, AMAZING service! This was our first time here and it did not disappoint. We had no reservation but were able to be seated quite quickly as we came in late. Everything is prepared as it is ordered, lovely presentation. I enjoyed the Mixed Grill; a Filet Mignon and a grilled tuna filet with peppercorn crust. It came with garlic mashed red potatoes, with lumps and skin on (YUM) and mixed veggies (succotash). I did start with a Caprese Salad which was also delicious. I would highly recommend enjoying a meal here, it was a pleasure and the service (Holly) was impeccable. It has been years since we have had such incredible service, perfectly timed, attentive, but not overly so, and I know she had eyes in the back of her head. We wanted for nothing and she was so pleasant and accommodating.
Exceptional place to have a special dinner. We like to keep this as our special event place to go, but really no reason not to stop often. Really outstanding service, as well as exquisite menu of delicious samplings. Do yourself a favor and visit soon.

The Colington Cafe remains a favorite. Always exceptional food and outstanding service in a delightful atmosphere. Had the she crab bisque followed by the filet mignon with crab meat. The seafood was fresh and the steak beautifully tender.
The Colington Cafe is our favorite restaurant on the Outer Banks. From the atmosphere, to staff, to the spectacular food it is a cut above. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

It’s feels like you’re walking into someone’s home when you walk through the door. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had. Being a Marylander, I was curious if I’d like their crab cakes, and they did a great job. Steak was cooked perfectly. Best steak I’ve had in my life, hands down. The mixed veggies were undercooked, but still good. I’ll be coming back for sure.
We found this place in Yelp and it was so amazing we visited twice during our weeks vacation. I'm sorry we just now discovered it after coming to OBX for many years. Can't say enough good things about the service and food!
Good for the price. Decent wine list. Food is acceptable but not really French.

In a place FULL of mediocre food, this place hits all the marks of fine cuisine. Our server Andrea was amazing. My steak was cooked to absolute perfection, the seafood was done perfectly as well. They were very accommodating to my food sensitivities. Love this place.
Enjoyed this lovely restaurant tucked behind the Wright Brothers Memorial. The building appears to be an old house converted to an eatery. Stylish, but humbly decorated. The food selection was excellent—featuring seafood, meat, and pasta dishes. Our server was attentive but not at all obtrusive—giving us time to make our choices, eat, and enjoy our time. Food quality was great—except for rather hard (woody) broccoli spears and “modest” portion of crab atop my halibut. Wide and tempting array of desserts. Recommend.

Been coming to the outer banks for years and don't know how we missed this place.
Food and service were amazing.
Tried the scallops and bacon appetizer, while not being a huge fan of scallops, these were cooked perfectly and amazing. Our server was very attentive and food came out quickly. If I had one suggestion I would have loved a martini to go with my dinner but settled for wine. Will definitely be coming back on our next trip.
Our favorite establishment to visit when we come to the OBX for our yearly vacation. Excellent service and friendly staff as usual. The food is always awesome from the She Crab Bisque to the many delicious desserts. Thanks again for your hospitality.

Last night on vaca and found this unique restaurant. Wonderful staff and food.a must to try. Fresh herbs from garden. Chef prepared dinner. Can’t wait to revisit again!
The cafe is a cute place. We ordered Halibut with lump crab and the Mixed Grill, which had tuna and shrimps. Both the food and service were very good. Keep in mind that the portions are on the smaller side if you are very hungry.
By far the BEST dining experience I’ve had at the beach. The dinner was spectacular, the service was magnificent, and the restaurant was packed! All of these factors made for an excellent experience. I will recommend this to anyone who is having a big celebration in the outer banks!
Is this place real? How can their vegetables have a hint of floral taste (they use thyme in it), their fish be full of flavor and their beef option just melt in your mouth? Plus when you visit save room the dessert you will not want to miss it. This place left me with memories I will hold on to forever. From the kindness of the staff to the amazing meal. I will be looking forward to visiting again!
