5+⭐ Family owned and operated for more than a generation. 3 to be precise 🥹 Well, I have to admit, we didn't really know about the "Lunch House." A really nice fella named "Reese" told us about this place when we were eating some barbecue at another joint. (Buddy's) Let me say, the menu is not overbearing, what they do, they do well, they do inexpensively, and, the flavors are out of this world! Of course, the age of the facility gives it the old timey feel, from the 40s or 50s. Bathrooms, kitchen, dining rooms, all spotless! 🤜🦠🤛 Ownership pride and Christian values dictate a fantastic experience, to me anyway. Everybody's is coming in to Chow down at breakfast and lunch time. Doesn't matter the persuasion of the individual! Just good food to fill an empty stomach. I haven't seen prices like this for about 30 years! So, stop in for not just an experience, but a pallet tickling event, lol! Really, really good folks! 😁👍

I tried the fried chicken liver and 2 sides with fried cornbread. My friend had the meatloaf- we both loved our lunch and will be back. Great atmosphere (I love local dives) and friendly staff!

I'm homesick for my hometown of Albemarle NC now. Right here in the middle of DT Knoxville sits this 1932's house turned mom n pops cafe with a lunch counter, old school cash register & they go old school on handwriting all your orders. Full of farmers, guys in overalls, construction workers and old timers who are obviously regulars. I can't remember the last time I found a place outside NC that serves old fashioned chocolate pie, and chicken livers are hard to find too. I got livers, beets, white beans and cucumber, tomatoes and onions. What a find! Very clean but completely authentic place. Nothing updated to look modern.

Great food, great service. They are right next to the zoo and the Muse Museum so very convenient for visitors to those places, but the service trucks filling the lot showed us that this would be a good place to eat. They accommodated our large group easily and were fast and friendly. Young and old alike enjoyed our food. We appreciated the prices too.

Super friendly local restaurant. They had room for our party of four kids and five adults, don't let the small seating area up front fool you like it did me, plenty of room in back. Get the tator tots, they are delicious.

CASH ONLY. We asked three locals where to go for brunch and they each started off by asking "you got cash?" No joke: check the menu to see whivh days they do chicken & dumplings. They make it from scratch and we saw locals come in for their to-go orders. The taste is worth it! Our waitress explained 60-70 orders go out the door each time.

I've ate there over 100 times and I've never had a bad meal. Everything is good. My favorite is chicken and dumplins on Wednesdays. Steak and gravy is my other usual. Catfish is 2nd to none.

Home cooked scratch food. The friendliest staff and great atmosphere. It's like stepping in a time machine to the 1950's. It is by far my favorite place to eat and the prices are extremely fair.
