Fabulous service. Food was delicious. Crab bisque was really well done. My mate had the lobster and steak. Steak was so tender and cooked to perfection. I have crab stuffed fish. It was great. I highly recommend.

Good morning Tom, We're looking, Tim Ditzel and myself for lodging, with 2 beds. In Puerto Vallarta for the dates of October 10th thru October 17th. I don't recall exactly what your accommodations are. If it fits our needs. Is your place available on the dates requested? Hope all is well with you! John

I've told many of my friends that you have the best crab cakes on the West Coast and fabulous fish tacos. Every time we're in La Jolla we go to the Crab Catcher. Love it!

I've been here several times, and I love the location. I never go at night time but during the day is gorgeous! Ask to seat by the window looking out the ocean the La Jollla Cove and you never regret the view. Beautiful! Foodwise, perfect! Love the fish nice and tender. For the servers, I'll give them an A. Friendly, nice, and they make sure you're content and enjoying your dining experiences. Plus this is plus side. They validate your parking ticket. Go and enjoy the food and the view!

Window seats are the most worth it obviously if you could grab yourself a table, however since we went there at night sun had already set since we were busy taking pictures. Food was fresh, however I personally expected better due to the price we were paying. Baked Oysters was tasty although they were a bit cold, probably due to the fact that they were short on staff. However atmosphere was still nice and cozy.

The view is a excellent and the service is good. I thought the spaghetti with white clams was good but I would have appreciated more pasta. The crab BLT was tasty but it was crab salad with tomato and bacon. I was expecting lump crab meat. The paradise macadamia ice cream pie is good. The restaurant didn't appear to have air conditioning and the open windows did not provide enough of a cross breeze. I recommend eating on the outside deck.

Beautiful view and good food. Crab bisque was so good with lot of crab meat. Pasta was also good. There is not many people at that time so we could get the window seat and enjoyed the view too. The stuff was kinda slow which could be improved

Oh what a wonderful place (Our new HAPPY Place) to enjoy a few drinks and have lunch! The service was superb, the Martinis and wine were on point and of course the food didn’t disappoint! Definitely returning to this gem in La Jolla!

Food was delicious, view was amazing, staff were friendly and attentive. Think they have a elevator but I took the stairs its a bit of a walk to get down. It's not super easy to spot from the street.

Lovely views and pretty good food. The prices are higher than the quality provides but as this is a tourist spot that is somewhat to be expected. Get a seat by the window, don't expect amazing food and don't look at the bill and you'll have a great time in the beautiful building overlooking the bay.

This was our 2nd visit & it was just as good as the 1st time. The food is amazing, very fresh and priced correctly for the portion size & quality. The staff is very nice and the view...well that alone is worth going.

Price: yes it is expensive. Environment: the restaurant itself is very nice, downstairs so far away from the noise street. We were early for dinner time so got a beautiful spot for ocean view. But to be honest, the location of the restaurant, in a corner, make it will not be the best for viewing the ocean. Food: we tried the set of lobster, king crab leg and prawns. Very good actually, fresh and decent. It's enough for two of us. Price is ~$130. Think it is OK for a one time experience. Definitely better than the seafood in most all you can eat restaurants.

We came here for Sunday brunch. I have the Poached Eggs La Jolla and we shared the baked oysters. So so delicious! I would order both again and again!

Great view across the bay to Scripps pear and with cormorants seating on the nearby pine trees. Lively environment with locals and visitors in balmy evening air. The food could be cheaper but we enjoyed the quality and good job of servers.

This place has an unbeatable ocean view, especially for around sunset time. The food was delicious and fresh, and our waiter was kind, attentive, and very helpful. We loved the truffle fries as an appetizer! The shrimp pasta was to die for, the shrimp were delicious. I also love a place that mentions its strides to sustainability. My only qualm is that the children’s menu is lacking. The burger that was ordered was small and cooked to a sad, flat pancake. Our waiter kindly swapped it out for spaghetti, which was still not quite up to par. For a seafood restaurant, offering fish and chips on a kids menu should be standard however this was not on the dinner menu. Additionally, pasta should be cooked al dente, and crab catcher over cooked both pasta dishes served.

This restaurant is in the beautiful town of La Jolla. This is my favorite restaurant on the west coast...Period! The food and drinks are great. The view is beautiful. Price is expensive $$$. Reservation is recommended for view seating. The hostess and waiters/waitresses are courteous professional and accommodating. The restaurant has a parking lot in back, but can be a challenge to find. Meter street parking and another lot in area. I will definitely return!

Make a reservation here. We had a table facing a view of the ocean. I had the Lobster Pappardelle pasta. It has a heavy cream. it tasted okay. I had the calamari for appetizer not so special. I think the service was great though.

My husband and I have been to the Crab Catcher many times, and we absolutely love it! We were first introduced to it in 2014 at my company Christmas party! Since then, we've made it our restaurant of choice for our wedding anniversary! Misty was our server for our first anniversary, and provided exceptional service! She has also worked my company's Christmas party for the past few years (including this year's, which was a couple days ago), and she always remembers us!! For our second anniversary, both our server (Richard) and the manager (Justin) went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable evening. The food at the Crab Catcher is always incredible! The crab legs are to die for, and their oysters on the half shell are some of the best we've ever had. The oysters Rockefeller are also AMAZING, by the way (there's BACON in there, guys!). I highly recommend their crab bisque, as well... and the poke tacos are also quite tasty!! For our anniversary dinner, we like to get the meal for two, which includes lobster, king crab legs, shrimp, and vegetables - definitely the best bang for your buck, and I promise you won't be disappointed! For dessert, my personal favorite is either the chocolate torte or the creme brulee, but you really can't go wrong, because they're all delicious! Enjoy!!
