We went to Bistro Pazzo for dinner. We had the mozzarella capresse and I ordered the Valeries Rigatoni Rustica. It was delicious and it was just the right portion. My husband ordered the Risotti and enjoyed that. The creme brûlée was fantastic.
Excellent service and an authentic environment. They really made us feel like family while we were there, this place is worth visiting for sure! Great food and a great vibes.
Awesome food, quick service...good cozy restaurant.
Great service, wonderful food. Would highly recommend.
My wife and I stopped in on a visit to San Diego. Food was MARVELOUS!!!! I highly recommend you pay a visit to Seto(Owner), and Bistro Pazzo when you are in the town.

The food was awesome! The ambiance even better, we will be back!!!
Great food, casual ambiance, authentic menu choices, friendly and attentive service. Excellent wines. Family owned and operated. Close to the main drag, but just quiet enough to sit outside. The salmon is memorable. Locals eat here, so you know it has to be great. Unpretentious. Moderate prices. What's not to love?? (Shhh don't tell too many people. It's a cozy little place.) Ava
Been to this place 7 times in 2014, 4 times in 2013 and 4 times in 2012. Great place including a good wine list. Less than 1 block off of Prospect.
Found this resto on Yelp and glad we listened to the reviews. This was the best Italian cuisine we’ve had out west. Service was fantastic, good sized portions and the food....amazing! Is you’re a local or just in for a day we strongly suggest you stop by for authentic Italian fare.
This place was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at. We were all in the mood for pasta and this place did not disappoint. I had the fettucine with a mixture of mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari and fresh fish. The sauce was to die for! My friends had lasagna, a rigatoni dish with four cheeses and one of their specials, local halibut. Everything was cooked to perfection. They also brought us amazing warm bread with a pesto dip. Excellent service and staff. Will definitely be back next time we visit La Jolla!
This restaurant is easy to miss as it's located on a quiet street in La Jolla. Italian food was excellent and the service was very good. The decor was comfortable and inviting. Will definitely return.
The food and service was great! The waitress was super friendly and helpful. The place is very small and had some locals that greeted us as soon as we came in the door. I had the penne al pollo that was served piping hot from the kitchen making all the cheeses in the dish taste that much better. Would definitely have this place on my list of go to places if I was a local!
Great food, great service; a 5/5 rating. You can't go wrong coming here . . . wow, what can I say, but "Go!" After several visits, I can say that I have not been disappointed in the flavorful Italian dishes along with the personal service that the owner puts forth to every customer who comes to Bistro Pazzo. The guy is great and really makes everyone feel welcomed to come eat at his tables.
Had the Pazzo Salad, Scallops, and the Lobster Ravioli and all three were fantastic. Topped off with a very nice Tiramisu and an item not found on the menu because it is in limited supply - the Lemon Cake is out of this world, wow!
Nice atmosphere, off the beaten path with many of the "locals" coming here to enjoy the each other's company along with great food and service . . .as noted, a 5/5 rating means this Favorite is a "must come back" and will!
Very nice place, owner provided great personal service. I would come here again. Great food!
Wonderful food...lasagna was scrumptious and penne siciliana was yummy. Owner was sweet and fun. Will definitely come back.
Great food and spot. We had a wonderful dinner for our last night in La Jolla. Thanks for making it a perfect choice. from Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
Like a home-cooked meal!. Had such a lovely dinner with my husband tonight! The restaurant is pretty small, but it is quaint, intimate, and romantic. I loved the beautiful artwork all over the walls, and there was just a great atmosphere overall. Everything was very clean as well.
As far as food goes, we really enjoyed our meals. The pesto that was served with the bread was so fresh, the fried calamari was delicious, and our entrees were great. They really tasted like healthy home-cooked meals! My chicken penne was wonderful and rich with the creamy sauce, zucchini, tomatoes and chicken.
I had a great night and I'd like to come back sometime!
Amazingly delicious food, friendly & prompt service...just go, you won't be disappointed! The hormone free pork with caramelized onions special was not only melt in your mouth great, but was cooked to perfection. The shrimp in artichoke & spicy marinara over spaghetti was superb - just the right amount of heat in the sauce & the shrimp (6) were large & very fresh. Wonderful experience at this great little neighborhood Italian restaurant!
Delicious and Romantic!. Wonderful food and atmosphere. The owner gave us great recommendations on salad, wine and entree. Very reasonably priced and oh, so delicious! I had the clam spaghetti and my husband had the beet and goat cheese salad and pork loin with caramelized onions. Thinking of going again this weekend with family!
On the day I ate at this charming little bistro, our waiter was quick to let me know that they had just gotten in very fresh seafood that day. Since I absolutely love seafood, I just couldn't resist ordering the Seafood Fettucine (with tomato sauce, salmon, prawns, mussels and clams and calamari). It was incredible. The sauce was clearly freshly made (with slices of garlic still in it and a little bit of oil separating from it, which never happens with canned sauces). The seafood was cooked to perfection. The calamari, which many places serve overcooked and rubbery was lovely and tender and tha salmon was cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The amount of seafood was nice and generous too, definitely not stingy. No fancy upscale place I've ever eaten at ever did seafood better than this. Bistro Pazzo also had friendly service and a charming atmosphere and if I ever go back to La Jolla, that's the first restaurant I'd eat at.
Amazing!. What a great night, all around! We were greeted warmly by the owner and served a delicious meal. The menu is a "suggestion" and they are willing to prepare almost anything (within reason). I'm an Italian American who grew up in Chicago eating delicious food, and this place was right up my alley. Authentic and fresh! Between the three of us we ordered all 7 desserts and astounded the staff by finishing them all. They were so fresh and delicious, it was easy. Two thumbs up!
This is the best italian in La Jolla! Amazing atmosphere inside and out on the patio. Go see Seto's and have the time of your life..
Best Italian food I ever had!!. We came all the way from Michigan for holiday and luckily we found this restaurant. We had a great time with Seto. He is very nice and knowledgeable about the food he serves. Everything tastes amazing and fresh. The lobster soup was so good and the pasta with seafood was delicious. He serves the best tiramisu I ever had. I wish there where more places like this! We will definitely come back!
My two girl friends and I take a trip together each year. Girls get away. We stopped in La Jolla and Bistro Pazzo was recommend. What a treat between the various dishes and the great wine. We will always go back. Love everything!!!
From the service, to the scene and quality of the food, Bistro Pazzo was a really enjoyable experience. Highly recommend the Bietole. The Spaghetti Alla Bolognese felt like a classic home cooked meal - nothing over the top but a good dish. Dogs are welcome on the patio and the staff is very friendly.
Love this place! The owner/chef is amazing! 👏 The bread and pesto would be enough for me, but then it's on to the incredible spinach salad and salmon. Bistro Pazzo is a small, intimate restaurant, allowing the owner to maintain perfection of all the food going out. Incredible.
Hands down the BEST Italian dinner ever! Incredible service, unbelievable food. Really quaint atmosphere on their patio. I really can’t remember a better dining experience.
Excellent service and food - couldn’t believe it wasn’t more crowded here, though we did go early. Perhaps it’s La Jolla’s best-kept secret. Impressed that the chef came out to chat with us! Our server James was wonderful and gave us great recommendations. Salads and bread were fresh and delicious. Entrees (sea bass and chicken piccata) were out of this world tasty, just perfect! The sauces and seasonings did not overpower the dishes but rather perfectly melded with the flavors of the fish and chicken. We finished with the leman cake which was fantastic. This meal was not just good, it was one of the best we’ve ever had, and we are rather discerning when we go out.
Definition of Diamond in the Rough. Forget all the fool’s gold glamor and glitz on Prospect. This place is the real deal neighborhood joint. Everything is homemade and delicious. The bread & pesto starting out is amazing - bread hot, pesto fresh. We got the Caesar salad (much more lemony than anchovy-y, which I really like!), the penne al pollo, and the special ravioli. Everything came out quick and piping hot. 10/10 would recommend.
BLOWN AWAY. Service-incredible. Owner was our waiter and we spent half our meal sharing stories with him. Food was SO FRESH AND DELICIOUS. I had the salmon, my brother had the scallops and my husband had the chicken. OH GOOD HEAVENS this is what perfection tastes like. Let's not even get started on the perfect crembrulee. Favorite restaurant in la Jolla. BONUS it's off the normal path so it was EMPTY which isn't good for business but resulted in an intimate experience for us which was impeccable. We will come back FOR SURE.
Food was amazing! Service was great! We would definitely come back here on our next visit in San Diego California!
Quiet and private. The five of us ordered different so we can taste each. The food was excellent. Our host Seto took care if us and he's very personable with a good sense of humor. We had a great time!
Definitey would recommend 5 stars to this hole in the wall establishment. Even had a moment to myself while devouring the delicious fresh bread. The family that ow s the place are very welcoming and warm as well. I ordered the Lasagne and Tiramisu. Although I had a hard debate whether or not to get more bread or order dessert!
This is truly a hidden Gem in La Jolla. The food and service is amazing. You will not be disappointed.
Fantastic experience! As we entered the patio we were immediately greeted by our server. He treats you like long-lost Italian relatives and only wants to share with you the best, authentic meal. Likewise, repeat customers are addressed by name. We ordered the mussels (pictured), the night's special of tortellini, and pasta. Everything was amazing. I would highly recommend saving pieces of bread for the end to soak up remaining flavors from the dish!
Top notch food, service, and experience!! Had a business dinner here with 15 people. The owner and staff went above and beyond! The wine recommendations were spot on! The food was incredible! The atmosphere was perfect! Highly recommend!
Wonderful Italian food! All of our food was amazing, the bread and pesto, appetizer, soup, salad, pasta, and dessert. Service was attentive and friendly. Such a great find!
Great food and amazing service. A great quiet place to dine. I hate to compliment cuz it'll mean more customers but have to give it its due!
Took a chance for a client dinner on a recommendation from a friend and what I found was a great value for Authentic Italian Classics served in generous portions. Our server made the ultimate difference guiding us towards dishes that were standouts among the menu. The first of what will guaranteed be many return visits with family and friends!

Delicious italian food. Seriously reminded me of being back in Italy. I had the lobster ravioli. First starters I had the mist salad. All very good. Service was attentive. I highly recommend a visit. For dessert I had tiramisu.
My family has been ordering from here since I was a little kid! I used to exclusively order their pasta bolognese (highly recommend this if you eat meat!) but ordered something else for my birthday last night and it was incredible! Definitely one of the best (and my favorite) Italian restaurants in La Jolla. The bread is delicious as well so don’t forget about that either! If you’re thinking of stopping in for a meal or takeout don’t hesitate!!! You won’t be disappointed.
Best lasagna of my life hands down. And I eat alot of lasagna! Great setup, pretty patio, & a personal, dedicated staff
