HEY I GOT THE PANCAKES THIS TIME. BLUEBERRY PANCAKES AND PLAIN PANCAKES, CAUSE I'M A PANCAKE PURITAN AND I MUST TRY THE PLAIN PANCAKES TO GET A TRUE HANDLE ON A RESTAURANT'S PANCAKE PROWESS. TRUTH BE TOLD, YOU CAN PUT BLUEBERRIES INTO AN AVERAGE PANCAKE AND IT BECOMES A FANTASTIC PANCAKE, SO UNTIL YOU TRY THE PLAIN, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE REALLY EATING. KIND OF LIKE PUTTING A SALT-SHAKER'S WORTH OF SUGAR INTO A BAD CUP OF COFFEE - ANYTHING BECOMES GOOD WITH SUGAR, BUT YOU'RE REALLY JUST TOASTING MOLDY BREAD AT THAT POINT.

BUT LISTEN, THESE PANCAKES WERE NOT BAD. REALLY PRETTY AVERAGE, IF MAYBE JUST SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE. TYPICAL LIGHT GOLDEN BROWN COLOR. ONE OF MY CAKES WAS UNCOOKED IN THE MIDDLE. SOMETIMES I LIKE A MEDIUM RARE PANCAKE, SO THAT WAS OKAY. THE BLUEBERRY PANCAKE WAS QUITE GOOD. IT LOOKED FUNNY. THE BLUEBERRIES WERE WHOLE AND INTACT AND SUNKEN IN. IT LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE HAD SHOT MY PANCAKE WITH A PAINTBALL GUN. OR IMAGINE MOLTEN BLUE GEMSTONES HALF-SUNKEN INTO SOMEONE'S FLESH, AND YOU GET AN IDEA OF WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE.

ATMOSPHERICALLY, IT IS A FAIRLY SPACIOUS AND ROOMY PLACE. PEOPLE WILL HEAR YOUR CONVERSATIONS IF YOU YELL. IF YOU WHISPER THEY MIGHT NOT. IT IS APPROPRIATELY LIT. MY FRIEND GOT A PRETTY SICK OMELETTE, BUT I GOT PANCAKES THIS TIME. I DROVE THERE, I DID NOT WALK OR RIDE A BICYCLE TO GET THERE.

Always friendly service. The staff really goes above and beyond. Great casseroles and their gourmet grilled cheese is the best you will ever have. Not to mention their bakery items are all delish!

Bakery = + // lunch = meh... The superiority of the summer kitchen's bakery was enough to carry this eatery to a "like" vote, outweighing the mediocrity of my meal*

*note: menu does include some promising offerings, most notably at breakfast, and I will return in search of deliciousness.. :)
