Great place for a plate lunch. Not a place to eat if you are counting calories. Walk-thru, cafeteria style. Usually 5-6 choices of entrees. Home-style cooking. Generous portions. Might want to be prepared to take a nap afterwards. My favorites are the stuffed baked (crispy) turkey legs. Sides of rice dressing, mustard greens, corn mocque choux - excellent.
One of my favorite places to get BBQ. So much food for a great deal.

So Good!. Craving the meatball stew right now!!!!!
Anyone who complains about this place because it is "too peppered" can move up north. This is a cajun/creole plate lunch house in Lafayette Louisiana. The food is great, cheap and the ladies working here are awesome!
Had chicken stew with corn and sweet peas. Food was awesome. Will be a repeat customer when working in Lafayette again.
Sunday Tradition. I can't praise this place enough. I have never left hungry or unhappy. Best plate lunches in town. Best potato salad! Fall of the bone ribs, and smoked sausage! Love it! We go every Sunday and enjoy Madonna's ( the owners daughter who now runs the place) delicious food. My only ocmplaint is you have to plan a nap after you eat!

Tristan. Laura's II is by far, the BEST place to get a plate lunch in Lafayette, LA. I have been living in Louisiana for 4 years & it is a must have at least once a week. Everyone behind the counter has always been extremely friendly. Today, I got the friend pork chop, best fresh okra I've ever had in my life, & corn mock shoe. The food is delicious, the staff is as kind as can be, & the price is more than fair. I definitely recommend that you go.
Not a long winded review. Laura's is one of the places in town… just make sure you get there before they run out food!
GREAT lunch in Lafayette. I was taken to this place for the first time in 2004. I must thank the soldiers of the 256th INF for the suggestion. The ladies working there remind you of your aunts or momma. Southern hospitality is alive and well at this establishment and the food makes you wonder if you're back in your grandma's kitchen. Southern/soul food at reasonable prices and considerably generous portions.
There is one thing to say about the food from here: SVRUMDIDDLYIMPTIOUS! That food was so good! It was my first time there. I got some seasoned barbeque ribs with fried chicken and yams and greens. That's how my mommy cooks and you know blackpeople can cook! I swear I had the -iris after I ate that and had to take a nap. I woke up rubbing my stomach. That was such a good meal and a reasonable price for all the food they give you. Will definitely eat at again.
Would definitely recommend trying this spot if you are in the area. It’s a family owned business and the staff there are super attentive and friendly. There are certain items I do not eat and they guided me through which items on the menu would be ok for me to eat. The portion sizes are huge, the food is well seasoned all the way through. A couple of things to note the “stuffed” turkey doesn’t mean it is actually stuffed with stuffing or other dishes, so do not expect to order it and actually open it to find it stuffed with something else. However the meat was tender, juicy and seasoned all the way through. Also, some websites say they close later on the weekend but at least on Saturday they still close around 2pm, so I would recommend calling ahead of time, if you are trying to show up after 2. There is parking available, and indoor dining as well.
I try to find good places to eat at as a truck driver and I’ve stumbled on a place that I will be returning too. I ordered the shrimp and grits with the catfish and it was excellent. The wait was not too long either. The lady (I believe she is the owner) taking the orders is super sweet and she knows everyone that frequents her on a first name basis. They seem to be very family oriented and that’s something I value. Thank you for the great service.
I was in town visiting a friend and she brought us to Laura’s for some food before we left and it did not disappoint! From the moment we entered the establishment, we were greeted with a warm welcome. Order was taken and then we sat as it was prepared. I had the catfish, mac & cheese, corn, and also came with the rice & gravy. Everything was delicious! The staff is super friendly and hospitable and just make you feel at home. I would definitely recommend ☺️
This place was off the charts! I go back each time I am in town. Absolutely a hidden gem...massive portions
Stopped at Laura's this past Sunday on our way to NOLA. My husband has never had soul food and really wanted tacos lol but I convinced him to give it a try. It was his FAVORITE meal the whole trip. Better than anything we had in New Orleans!! Tried to go back on our way home but didn't make it on time. Highly recommend!! Excellent food, great customer service :)
Don't pass up the seafood okra!!! It was amazing!!!
Popped in for lunch based on reviews, and it's the real deal! Super friendly and professional staff, clean, outstanding stuffed/baked turkey wing, best catfish filet ever, and smothered pork chops were terrific. They clearly care deeply for their customers and take their down home cooking seriously. All the locals recommended the place too, and for good reason. Definitely recommend.
First time visiting for lunch and the entire experience was GREAT. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted warmly like family! All the food was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. We had fried catfish (forgot to take pic because we ate it so fast), stuffed baked turkey wings, potato salad, seafood okra, corn machchoux, rice and gravy. Prices were reasonable and the portions were generous. Will definitely back whenever we're in town!
Laura's Two. Delicious soul food. Be prepared to eat plenty or have leftovers. Large portions with good flavor. Also, be prepared to wait in line on Sunday after church. It's worth the wait because the staff is well organized and keeps the line moving.
Great food. Love the owner. Always Very welcoming!
The Owner and staff was outstanding.
I'm from California and was looking for a soul food place. Stumbled onto this place and was so happy I did. Found out that they were famous for there turkey wings. But Damm it's all good!!
But please people when you stop by you must try their side dish the okra. Out of this world 🌎. Trust me from a man who grew up eating it and hated it. Tried it and now I'm hook. Plus all the other side was mouth watering. You can always tell a good successful place when you see the staff happy and glad to be working there. If you ever go to Lafayette Louisiana and don't stop here then you missed out and must go back.
Prices are perfect for today's market and the food exceeds what you pay.
So please enjoy!!!!!!!!!
