Super friendly waitress (checked on us often and even made conversation), comfortable pay-at-the-counter atmosphere, albeit quirky October christmas decorations--probably still up from last year.
We got a ton of food for a table of 4 for super cheap. We got two burgers, a half shrimp poboy, and a half a muffalata, but started with some sides: large (8) mozzarella sticks, a large fried pickle, a large fry, and a small red beans and rice. We had a ton of leftovers. Two of us couldn't finish our sandwiches and the other two felt too full because they did.
The batter they use for the fried shrimp and the fried pickles is the best: crispy, well salted, sticks to the food really well without falling off (reminds me a little of Popeye's chicken batter). These will be the best fried pickles you've ever had! The fried mozzarella (although I doubt homemade) and the mozzarella on the muffalata was good quality cheese, super oozy and awesome. Well seasoned burgers and krinkle fries (Tony's I think). Tasty unsweet tea.
Easily my new favorite restaurant. I can't wait to try more of the menu.
I guess I will start by saying that I was an avid Urban Spooner. I never chose a restaurant without it, unless it was maybe fast food. A little disappointed that my review content didn't carry over to Zomato, but I will try to stay positive amongst the onslaught of dark reviews. Good luck Zomato. You have large shoes to fill. So, as far as Acadian PoBoys goes, I will start with the environment. It's a standard Cajun Po-Boy type small restaurant. Fairly new and clean. Perfect quick lunch stop if you don't have a lot of time. The lady at the counter was very cordial, although the fact that she was Asian concerned me considering this was Cajun food. She asked if I wanted to pay when ordering or wait until I was done. If I were eating with a large group, I would have likely chosen afterward, to better judge gratuity amount, but I went ahead and paid before while leaving a standard tip. One of the things that caught my eye on the menu was the alligator sausage poboy. I chose the 6" with a non-sweetened tea. The standard dressing is lettuce, mustard, and mayonnaise. I opted out of the mustard and went with just lettuce and mayonnaise. This was my second experience with the alligator sausage poboy, and I was quite concerned since my first experience was so good. To mention a little bit about that, my first experience was at the Franklin Bear Festival where a young man was serving these out of a tent.My food came fairly quickly, but that was sort of expected since it was after 2pm. When I took the first bite it was like being transported back to the Bear Festival. I know you all are thinking, a festival, but I can assure you it was a fabulous first experience. It was identical. The poboy bun was the light flaky and lightly toasted melt in your mouth bun that I had experienced before. This was half of the reason it was so good. The alligator sausage was also good. For those of you who are considering trying it, just think medium hot link if you are scared. Its a well seasoned Cajun sausage. I chose to leave quickly in fear that I would most definitely order another if I didn't, and I am trying to watch my health. The bread is what made the sandwich, although the sausage was definitely good. I plan on trying the fried or grilled shrimp poboy next. You know a good shrimp poboy is good if you don't smell or taste iodine, which requires proper shrimp prep-work. The only reason I gave it a 4.5 was because I hadn't eaten but one item on the menu.Stay tuned and lets see if they can move the marker of 4.5. Next visit will come with pictures.
Best fried shrimp platter ever! Super fresh, shrimp are peeled and deveined on site. The service was excellent!!!
Daydreaming of a shrimp po' boy. WAYYY better than old tyme! everytime i want a po boy, i'm reminded of this place! the sandwiches are amazing! everyone goes to old tyme because it's by the college. well, let them! they don't know what they're missing! and the hot sausage sandwich is so so good! man i really miss this place! go here!!!
I live very close to this place so whenever I'm not feeling like being healthy I'll get a burger from here because seriously: best burger in Lafayette. Doesn't taste frozen; so incredibly good. The fries are nothing to write home about and the onion rings are okay. Never tried the poboy but I've never been a huge fan of poboys anyway. This place really gives you your money's worth. The pork chops are good and HUGE. Red beans are a little more bland than I like. Gumbo's pretty delicious. I usually call in orders and I've never waited longer than 15 minutes. The lady who answers the phone knows my voice now and always tries to guess what I'm going to get; 99%of the time that's a burger. Because yeah, it's that good. Try it. You won't be disappointed.
Hamburgers and fries were very drained! Pretty good, I'd go back! :-)
I have eaten here several times and have been pleased everytime. The amount of food you get for the money is amazing. This is truly a gem!
Oh gosh, their po-boys is soo good! the bead is soft! Unlike other places where they baked the bread for so long, and it hardens up!
This place is great. Love the mullalutta and red beans....best kept secret in Lafayette
Great food consistently!! One of the best burgers in town and love their seafood baskets!! It's a mom and pop place so call in your take out order to save a wait. They get busy for a reason. Always good so I have no issues recommending them.
Best SubShop in Town. The food is fresh, hot, and you get your money's worth in portions. You will not be disappointed with anything on the menu.
Always good. Burgers and Po boys are full flavor staff friendly. Definitely not "big box" type establishment
Love this place for takeout! Poboys are great, yummy sweet potato fries, Lake chicken sandwich is awesome! Salads are huge and can feed two easily!
BEST crab burgers in town! The burgers are spicy and amazingly tasty. Fried shrimp PoBoys are some of the best in town. Everything I have ever ordered has been perfection, but seriously go for the crab burger and fries.
I had the muffaletta and was pretty happy. It is not like the ones I remember so fondly as a child in New Orleans but good. My son's alligator burger was really good. I didn't know what to expect but it was good. The owner is super nice.
Great food and wonderful service! We were passing through and wanted to eat somewhere we couldn't eat at home. So glad we decided to stop here. Had a shrimp basket with sweet potato fries, muffaletta, red beans & rice, and grilled chicken salad. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Ordered catfish shrimp poboy, it was stuffed and the food was very fresh! hot link patty was so good! And the apply pie was good. Will definitely have again.
Very good eats. All the items I ordered were tasty and largely portioned.
THE BEST shrimp poboy in Lafayette! Nothing fancy, just big portions of good food for cheaper then normal prices made by a hard working family.
Was trying new places around town, and stumbled upon this place. Suggest calling in an order, there is currently no dine in. Ordered the etouffee, which was delicious and the fish platter, which was also very good. Only thing I can complain about is the toast, I wish it was toasted or buttered at least.
Would definitely come back.

Just discovered this "hole-in-the-wall" place, but man if their shrimp po-boy isn't one of the best I've eaten in town.
Can't wait to return and try more!
Seafood basket was fresh and delicious. Some of the best I have eaten, and I am from the East coast. Recommend!!👍👍
Food was great, everything you would expect when you get a fried shrimp poboy.
A must stop in Youngsville/Lafayette. If you like fried shrimp and oysters this is Nirvana. Best Po'boy sandwiches in the area. Can't miss.
Driving back to Austin after a weekend in New Orleans and could not find anything open in Lafayette on a Sunday. The proprietor answered the phone and said 'yes, I am open today.' We gave it a shot. The shrimp poboy was overflowing with shrimp and the crawfish etoufee was superb. All freshly prepared and the woman was very pleasant. All the locals, that were repeat customers, we spoke with that were there had nothing but praise for her also and what a great job she does. It is a bit out of the way but well worth it. Hope you get the chance to have the same experience we did.
We stopped by for supper and it was amazing! The food was prepared incredibly fast and the service was great. The food was more than I could've asked for on a hungry day- we had 2 to-go plates even after I gave a good go at everyone's leftovers. I will definitely recommend it to people in future and will most likely return if I'm in the area!
Not the best po boy I’ve ever had, but still good! Daughter liked her chicken tenders and husband liked muffuletta. They were busy w pick up orders!
Very nice and large portions! Food was great!
Really great place. Decided I'd stop in and check it out.. Everyone was super friendly and made sure I was well taken care of. And yes, I was!! The grilled shrimp po-boy and sweet potato fries were phenomenal!! 👏 👏 👏
It was ok real plain food not seasoned with that cajun love
Great poboys! Son said it was the best he ever had! Everyone was very happy w their order.
Super awesome staff.
