This place is unexpectedly amazing! I started with this drink called "Tigers Blood" it was spicy with jalapeno pieces floating in there. Best thing I've had in a while. The food and the vibe are second to none in Orange County. I highly recommend it!
We love this place! The atmosphere, food and experience are always amazing! I had my boyfriends 50th birthday there on Saturday night. Most of our party was commenting on how nice and welcoming the staff was. We usually are taken care of by Kaylee who is the best, so sweet & informative although we have never had a bad experience. You are in for a treat! �

In mall. The menu of Asian inspired small plates and sushi plus dinner choices were overwhelming. I had the calamari with some wine graciously served by Jesse. I can’t wait to come back and try some sushi.

I've been to Starfish at least 6 times and have never been disappointed...outstanding food, freshness, and flavors!! Love to impress friends and guests with this place!! Especially thankful most items can be prepared gluten free!!! I have Celiac and there aren't very many places I feel safe eating Asian food, but Starfish caters to be requests beautifully! Love it!!
If you only have one diner or lunch to have in Laguna beach this is the place .. the decor the food the music & the owners make this place magic . As a french gourmet you can trust me !!
I've come to Starfish since the day it opened. It has been through ownership changes, management changes, chef changes, and just changes in general. It's had its problems and it's solved every one. The current Starfish is an ever-changing Laguna Beach icon. Icons tend to become rooted, immobile and stolid. Not this place. It is the eternal work-in-improving-progress. I suggest, first that you drink and dine at the bar. Grandmaster bartender Neil Skewes is a legendary Laguna Beach guru and one of the nicest human beings alive. Kristy Howard is a super-model, a consummate pro and Neil's only competition in sheer nicety. You won't be able to take your eyes off of her. The food menu is a constellation of unique dishes unavailable anywhere else.
Starfish is not a restaurant - or a bar. It's a home.

We love Starfish!!! The food and drinks are beyond above par. But, we love the staff. They make you feel so welcome. Kayli is so sweet and great at managing. Cole just joined the team and is bartending and we loved him at his former restaurant. We can’t imagine a better spot for dinner. The owners are very nice and care about their customers. Combine all of this and it is a win-win... oh wait, I forgot “Opium Hour” which feels like highway robbery. Best deal in town! Every day 3-6 pm. Love you Starfish!

Amazing food and atmosphere. Shout out to Danielle our waitress. She made great suggestions and was very attentive. It was my first time to California. I'm coming back in January and will definitely be back to eat.
My husband and I felt so happy to find this hidden gem restaurant which we would definitely revisit. High quality for both food and service. It’s a very pleasant experience dining there.
After a long hike around the world. We decided to come here for lunch. For appetizers we had the lobster roll, lettuce wraps and dumplings. All were excellent. For lunch I had the Chilean sea bass. It was really good and juicy. The curry sauce was exceptional. Service was good, we will definitely be back.

There's a reason this place is so highly rated. It's always busy-packed, especially for happy hour. Is it the most authentic East Asian/South East Asian food available in Orange County? Maybe not but that's not what people are here for.
The atmosphere here has a cool vibe though it does get fairly loud so bear that in mind if you have issues hearing in loud spaces. Our server was very nice and made sure we had everything we ordered and our waters were full multiple times. Every sushi roll I've had here is great and the Spice ahi roll was no exception. High quality tuna and good flavor. The lobster spring roll, OG Vietnamese roll, and pan-fried dumplings were all fantastic. I thought the sauce that comes with the OG Vietnamese roll really levelled it up.
My favorite main here is the seafood curry with coconut rice. The Szechuan prawns were great quality prawns though the sauce didn't do much for me. The spicy Thai basic beef had a nice flavor and is consistently great every time I've had it.
Went in on a recommendation, and we're very happy we did! From the start, the staff were very friendly and personable. It was happy hour, so we sat outside and enjoyed the sunset. Our server (Micah) was great! We had some cocktails and small plates while reading over the rest of the menu. It was restaurant week, and they had a great offering in honor of that, so we went for it. The food was amazing! The portion size was great! We completely over ate and it was so worth it. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Laguna!

It was our first time and the service and atmosphere were amazing. The fusion food were excellent. We had Asian sesame chicken salad and Thai crab fired rice.
An incredible dinner! We were lucky enough to come during happy hour, so everything was reduced price. The cocktails were generous and strong. All the food surpassed expectations, especially the banh mi sliders and the chicken satay. I would love to come back here! I do want to note that it’s very dark and noisy inside the restaurant — we ate outside on the patio, which has heat lamps, and were much happier.
We love their happy hour. The appetizers are absolutely delicious and the signature mixed drinks are awesome. Service is very prompt and efficient. It gets crowded quickly so get there early or make a reservation to make sure you get a seat.
Fantastic atmosphere and the food was great. The Szechaun Scallops were top level and a lot of food. The crab slider were excellent. Don't miss out on the pineapple salsa with the Thai Coconut Chicken.
We just came back, this is our second time to this restaurant and brought 3 friends for their first experience. The downs were Flat Iron Steak Satays which has a funky flavor and salty ; the Korean tacos were overpowered with pickles so didn't get to enjoy the meat and its flavor. The highlights were wok fire Edamame; pork and chicken lettuce wraps but the pork was tastier; pork potstickers were ok; soft shell crab sliders/lobster rolls/spicy tuna rolls were excellent; the herb calamari was really good for the first order but average for the second order; wagu with black bean sause sliders were good; chocolate bread pudding was very good. The drink orders were consistently slow so make sure you place them as soon as possible... any way, we really enjoy the food in general, creative cocktails, services.
My Cantaloupe Martini was pretty good. I was surprised there was a large Happy Hour Menu. I would like to come back again. There was a beach vibe there.
