My favorite dining experience in Maui. Full stop.
All the food is designed to be shared family style, and every dish we got was absolutely excellent. The favorite at our table was the eggplant which was in a savory sweet sauce, but the hot and sour noodles were also delectable. The most unique dish was the Vietnamese crepes which is a really fun eating experience where you compose your own small wraps with ingredients provided. Also of note is the shrimp and green papaya salad, perfectly sweet and tangy.
Call early to make a reservation, seriously.
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Maui!! Their miso salmon and ramen are top quality, and the noodles all hand made in house. The atmosphere around is filled with a bright vibe of tropical colors and the perfect amount of shade to capture the island weather without there being too much sun. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is beyond measurable. Praying star noodle and the rest of Lahaina make a recovery from the horrible fires. Everyone deserves to try this place!

This place lived up to the hype. Everything was solid. The fried chicken is not mentioned very often online but it had really good flavor and paired well with the fish sauce that came with the Vietnamese crepe. The garlic noodles were dangerously easy to eat. I booked a reservation about a month in advanced and luckily was given the best seat in the restaurant. The restaurant serves family style so when you order be mindful based on your party size. Such a solid restaurant. The drinks are really good too!
Fabulous food in a gorgeous location! My favorites were the kimchi dumpling special and the crepe. The dumplings were so tasty with the perfect amount of spice. The crepe was make your own on a lettuce leaf. It was shrimp and mushrooms in a coconut sauce with plenty of basil, mint and cilantro. Usually there is never enough but this plate had plenty. The fried corn tasted great and added texture. We had a lovely unfiltered cold sake. The garlic noodles and pork ribs were also great and an excellent snack the next day.
Star Noodle Review: As usual, the food is lovingly prepared and perfectly seasoned. This location is much better than the previous.
They are very busy, and it's hard to get reservations. However, people cancel, I recommend signing up for Resy. We were notified an hour before, very convenient. Garlic Noodles, eggplant, shrimp tempura, and the Nuoc Cham Chicken are all excellent!
The Shrimp Shumai, Pork Buns, & the Lahaina Fried Soup were delicious! In particular, the Lahaina Fried Soup was full of flavor. It's like very thick chow fun sticks cooked in sweet soy sauce -- TASTY! Excellent views, too. As with most restaurants on the island, make reservations (or go during off hours) so you don't wait. We went at 5pm and were lucky enough to get a table.
A highlight of our trip!! The fried soup stole the show. Although we also got pork buns and vermicelli noodles which were also delicious. Wonderful views. Javi our server was wonderful.
So, yes, this place is totally worth it - especially if you love Asian food. Everything we had food wise was very solid, and the cocktails are good, too. The view is also very nice if you can sit on the water side… so what else can you ask for? We couldn’t get a reservation so walked in for lunch. We gorged so much we had to go back and take a nap - that’s maybe the only downside 😂😂.
Finally got to come here after a year of trying to have dinner here! Plenty of the dishes can be made vegetarian (I’m a vegetarian and they made it easy for me) and the drinks and apps are wonderful. I got the Garlic noodles along with the eggplant… so good! The view and vibe is amazing, even after sunset. Our waiter was great too, and super knowledgeable about everything. Will definitely come back!
Wanted to find someplace early on a Saturday to get some lunch w/o reservations and star noodle opened at 10:30. We got there around 10:50 and they were filling up quickly. Sat down and we were immediately approached by a server and she took our drink orders. We both ordered the Pad Thai but I had mine with garlic noodles And OMG it was fantastic. Food came out hot, service was good. Beautiful atmosphere would definitely come back here again.
Star noodle was one of my Must Try spots when visiting Maui.
My first experience was incredible. Definitely make reservations or walk in. While you wait, enjoy the some of the amazing drinks offered at the bar.
The views from any table you sit at are spectacular. The food AMAZING and well thought out. And last but not least the service. The customer service is probably one of the best on the island. Our waitress Shelby was super sweet and very accommodating.
I enjoy a little spice with my food, and the house made chili oil made it that much perfect for my spicy taste palette.
The service was top notch. The food was to die for. Cocktails from the bar were inspired and well crafted. The atmosphere is intoxicating with ocean views and a relaxed outdoor vibe. This place checked every box and was a highlight of the entire trip to the island, cannot wait to come back!
A nice meal, but not as blown away as we expected given how often Star Noodle is recommended across the island. Eggplant was actually the standout for me. And don’t be deterred if you are a walk-in and they tell you it could be an hour wait. That’s what we were told but we were seated within 15 minutes of putting our name on the list!
Fav place to eat in Maui. We had the papaya salad which had shrimp that was the most cooked to perfection and fresh shrimp I've ever had. We were able to order fern salad off the menu! They have a few other secret menu options. Pork buns are popular. The shrimp tempura are huge! I'd skip the garlic noodles personally. Staff was really friendly and upbeat. Liked dining al fresco next to the water. Will def be back here during our stay. Fridays are aloha Fridays meaning no reservations, first come first serve.
Everything about Star Noodle delivered a magical experience. The ocean front scenery is stunning. They had some delish plant based options upon request. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful.
On a side note, I’m rating four stars because of how they handle reservations vs walk ins. We made a reservation far in advance. As we were waiting a walk in party came in. Upon seating us they put us on the deck not close to the water at all yet the walk in customers got front row on the ocean. I don’t think that was thought out well by the hostesses. Both tables were available simultaneously and she gave the best seat to the walk in. Not the best customer service to not give reservations the coveted seats. Thanks for listening!
I've been visiting Maui for 15 years now, and the whole time Star Noodle has proven to be a reliable choice for a delicious asian inspired meal.
Everything on the menu is good, so just order whatever you feel like having. On my last visit we had the pork buns, shrimp pad thai, Vietnamese crepe, and hapa ramen. For dessert we had the black sesame creme brulee. Everything was delicious. 👍
The Vietnamese crepes are a must - not pictured as we dove in and ate the entire dish before I remembered to take a pic. The pear and beet salad and fried cheesy corn which is what is pictured did not disappoint! Can’t wait to come back.
They opened at 10:30AM with a line the second the place opens. Hostess states that they traditionally book 6-8 weeks out. If you are solo, get there at 10:30AM and visit Javi (from Spain) at the bar. When I told him I wanted an alcohol free beverage and liked Ginger Ale, he made me a custom drink! Sooo super tasty!
The food options were nice, and I was given some great recommendations!
I ended up ordering the Look Fun (named after the owner), and it sure was. Even their hot sauce is house made!
