Yes, the marg will sneak up on you. At first I was disappointed it didn’t hit like a real gringo Mex margarita but once you get through halfway and start eating, it hits right.
The food was excellent, everything you could want and the flautas we more robust than any I can remember. There’s too many menu items to try but go with the combos and you can’t miss. And don’t forget to keep the plastic souvenir on your marg for good luck!
Absolutely amazing food and service!!! They blew my expectations out of the water. My only slight complaint was that music was little loud but that's a very minor detail. Highly recommend the food and margaritas ❤️
This place is excellent! The service is incredible! The entire staff is so well mannered and friendly. I believe this is a family owned place because everyone seems to really want please the customer!

Love this family owned restaurant. Known the Avila’s for most my life and they always take such good care of me. The food is great, the margaritas are amazing, the ambiance is welcoming, and I’m obsessed with the salsa! Can never get enough.
Avila's has always been consistently great. The food is always amazing and the margaritas are top notch. I've been going to this location for over 15 years and even though I moved , I still come back at least once a month.

Their lines of people waiting for tables can reinforce that I'm not alone. For peak times, come early, reserve a table or order delivery... else be prepared to wait.
Food is great. Portions are generous. And the kitchen is accommodating for tweaks (add asada or no cheese etc).
Staff is always super attentive and friendly too.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Ambience great but noise level extremely high and very difficult to hear or understand wait staff. Food authentic and excellent. Restrooms not designed for the capacity needed and only accessible from the outside. Still the foot was worth the short wait.
Every menu (and custom ordered item) at Avila's El Ranchito, is next level exceptional.
The staff is genuinely kind and very friendly to everyone and their food is consistently delicious with quality ingredients.

Definitely one if our favorite places to eat in the area. Featured in the photo below is the Baja bowl which was delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant is very unique and is in of the things that keeps drawing me back. They also have a great selection of margaritas and I highly suggest you grab one, you can't go wrong! Overall this is an excellent spot and we will totally be back!
This is some great Mexican food. Been here once before, like a hidden gem.
Started with a cactus cooler and my gf got hide margarita. The chips and salsa are tasty as well.
Entrees: i got the carne asada and shrimp fajitas and fried Serrano’s, delicious and way more food for me too eat. Gf got the beef taco and enchilada and that was great as well. Plenty of food to whip up some sort of breakfast tomorrow.
Had the street tacos. They were very good. A lot of filling. Would get these again if I ever visited this place again.
This is my favorite place to go to eat when I visit my sister. The food is so delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is really fun. LOVE IT !
Went to Cinco de Mayo in Lake Forest. Atmosphere was nice. The drinks of course were well overpriced for the day.
