Staff were very accommodating as we turned up just before closing.
Went for the Texas sized Chicken Fried Steak which was pretty decent and the Jalapeno Poppers. Convenient place if you're in need of a good feed.
If you are wondering what a MGD when asking for a beer (we we're intrigued) it was upsettingly a Miller Genuine Draft 🫣
3 stars for the food 5 stars for the service.
Stopped in for a quick dinner so I could get back on the road. Had an 8 ounce chicken fried steak dinner. It was phenomenal, and coming from a Texan that’s quite the compliment. The cherry rhubarb pie for dessert was the best I’ve ever had. My server went above and beyond, very courteous, and very prompt. Take my word for it, you won’t regret stopping in.
I love biscuits and gravy. If you have biscuits and gravy that don't suck, well, I'm gonna like your restaurant. The rest of the food was excellent as well.
I judge diner type restaurants by breakfast and the lunch or dinner option of the club sandwich. This place does both really well. I haven't had a lot of the menu yet, but what I've had has been delicious and ample. I can't wait for my next meal here.
This is very much a good place to stop on a trip. The waitresses were nice and the food was good and reasonably priced, the highest meal being like 10 dollars and the average around 5 bucks. It was all good, I ate breakfast there. I do recommend it.
My favorite place in Lamar. Friendly, attentive staff and good food. I worked in Lamar for two weeks and ate here daily, sometimes twice a day. Great breakfast and lunch. Don't tell my wife, they also have fantastic pies.
