The presentation was great. The waitress made plenty of room & kept everything nice & neat. The soup was enough for 3 to share. The Pad Thai was delicious. Clean new restrooms. I'd go there again.
Favorite Thai place in Lansing. Period. Seriously, anyone giving this place a bad review for one dish they did not like should really consider trying another entrée. Maybe it's just not what you are used to. A million Thai chefs, a million Pad Thai recipies as they say. And try the Thai iced tea!!
Bangkok house, BangROCK house. So, I ordered the hot chicken Pad Thai thinking I could handle it and 2 minutes into it I was gulping water down and imagining the workers laughing in the back of the kitchen. With that being said, this is the best Thai food restaurant hands down in and around the Lansing area. The portions are large and delicious and the people are very friendly. Please, go here.
Love love love this restaurant! I always get the chicken Pad Thai, and I like to get mine hot. It's actually very healthy! It's just really satisfying and flavorful because of the spices Thai cuisine uses! And they use whole foods (Non processed.) For the most part, so this is a place I can eat without having to worry! If you haven't been here, you MUST go soon! It's amazing
Good Thai Cuisine. Was bummmed when I rolled by Lamai's to see it closed!
Tried Bangkok House on a whim for a quick lunch.
I had the pad thai which was very flavorful and spot on how we like it. Also had the coconut curry with beef that was amazing over rice.
The prices are very resonable with most things around 6.00 a plate. Beware though the portions are smaller but that is because the price is alot cheaper compared to some.
This I don't mind, I would rather have smaller portions for a smaller price so I don't overeat and or get to try more things.
I read a review on here or yelp about someone saying the owners are vietnamese not thai, maybe they got that confused with Asia's Finest but from reading the articles on the wall with the last names and talking with the workers they are def not vietnamese and are cooking authentic thai food.
This is not your americanized chinese, this is real asian cuisine.
The best Thai I have ever eaten in my life. Awesome service and super fast. Taste phenomenal.
Sometimes I dream about the pad khee mao. I eat here more than anywhere else in Lansing. The lunch prices are great, and you get a good sized portion- enough for me to have leftovers, anyway. They're also happy to substitute tofu in any of the dishes, and they have great tofu. Chewy, spicy little cubes.
Just be warned, the heat level here is higher than usual for Lansing. I think it's great (I've been using the food to build up my heat tolerance!), but if it's your first time, be cautious. Try it mild first.
Edit to mention that I now eat here pretty regularly, so there's a couple of things I'll add to this review. First, I haven't found anywhere else in Lansing that understands how to cook tofu like Bangkok House does. Most places in Lansing use unpressed, unseasoned tofu in every dish, even if the texture isn't appropriate for that particular dish. Thank goodness for Bangkok House. Second, in the past, every now and then, I'd get an order that was mediocre instead of great, but that hasn't happened in months. Is it because I'm there so much, or because it's summer and everything is in season, or do they just have some really good cooks back there right now? Who knows. I'm going to enjoy it.
Great food, good prices. This little hidden gem is a great place to grab some great Thai food. Good service at a reasonable price!
Tofu curry. Recommend the tofu curry, hot of course!
Great, authentic food.. I've been going to Bangkok House for a few years now and I love it. The menu is great because it has choices for every taste, including vegetarians. You can eat cheap there, with some appetizers as low as $4 and entrees as low as $8. One word of caution though: if you can't handle spicy food, then you shouldn't eat here at all. Even ordering a dish mild won't save you from the delicious heat that's in all of their dishes.
If you want a taste of the exotic, if you like spicy food, or you just want to try something completely different, head to Bangkok House and get a meal. Try the Thai iced tea too!
Well kept secret since I have passed it a million times and never seen it! Very convenient after classes at LCC and quick service as well
When it's good, it's great -- by far the best Thai food around. Somewhat variable though (different cooks?), so about a third of the time I go, the food is just okay.
The food was very delicious. I got the medium heat and it was perfect. The most impressive part is Carla goes there once of the year and they remembered her order. So I have to give the service a 5.
I have been going to this restaurant for nearly 20 years. I was introduced by workers that have been overseas and their food is 100% authentic. He comes over from flint area just to have a lunch meeting! The lady who works in the front knows exactly what I want anymore, she always friendly and helpful. She is always there and keeps the entire front running all day. The food is always has great quality and is always perfect. Sometimes it may be too hot so you’re not big on heat, you may want to ask for the mild!. The best restaurants in the downtown lansing area!
Loved the food here! I had some okay food at best at a few other local places. The food here was fantastic. Great flavor, respectable spice. Would recommend
Having just moved to the area from a major city, we were having a hard time finding quality authentic Thai food when we stumbled across this little gem. Excellent food, quick service, and very kind staff. The red curry (pictured, #14 on the menu) is not to be missed.
Stopped to grab dinner one night. Take out order was quick and the food was really good. I asked for a substitution, and they did accommodate that for a $2.00 charge. My only complaint is that portions are more on the modest end, and the eggplant in the green curry dish was very mushy and overcooked. The other dish we got was a cashew chicken and that was exceptional.
Love the Pad Khe Mao!
Edited to add:
I’ve been taking food to go here for years and love it- I came today and sat down to eat and everything was amazing. The food, of course, but the service as well. Our server was hands down my favorite person over ever had as a server… 10/10 will be back again!
Cute and delicious place for lunch. We've tried a variety of things but the best is the chicken satay appetizer. Brown it to your liking on your own mini grill with a peanut butter dip and cucumber sauce. Service and food is great. Would recommend.
Great Thai food! Delicious dishes to choose between. The Rangoon was phenomenal- the best I’ve had in all of Lansing.
I was the only person ordering, so I was able to casually talk with one of the owners while she wrote up my order. Great food, great people, worth weathering the storm of horrible traffic during construction.
Tasty food, and quick enough to eat on a lunch break! I ordered the chicken satay and it came out with a cool little pot with flames to crisp up the (already cooked) chicken. I thought it was neat!
Some of the best I've ever had lots of food for the price and the lady the runs the place is very nice.
Had a date night with the hubby & we absolutely loved the food & how spicy 🥵 it was 😁
My ex gf took me here a few years ago and I wasn't a fan of Thai food until I tried this! Been a fan since...
