Mardi was the coolest best est nicest sweet ass chick! I've always liked this place but she made it so much sweeter! I so much appreciated everything she did for my family with funny banter and complimentary dessert for my birthday she's the best!!
Had a great brunch here yesterday! The food was amazing, had a great atmosphere and the staff members were friendly. Will definitely be back 👌🏼
OMG. The Brunch Burger is amazing. The burger was perfectly cooked. The egg was perfectly cooked. The whole thing was perfect. My two dining companions also enjoyed their meals ( steak and eggs and the veggie omelette). Our server was attentive, bringing refills before our glasses were empty and the food came out quickly. I will definitely go back.
It’s our “go to” for Sunday brunch when we visit MSU. Good food, nice staff, and the outdoor seating has a great view of the capitol.
Awesome atmosphere, great food. Chorizo hash to die for! A shout out to Ashley and Ryan for great service at the bar!
Tavern has moved and has a new name. It moved a block North and across the street to the former Edmunds and Black Rose location.
It is now called "Tavern & Tap". The venue is much larger, and the menu has been revised.
This location is being renovated. Word around town is that Black Rose will be relocating there.
Roast Beef. The roast beef blue plate I had was delicious, would order it again!
Nice salmon salad ! Great Sunday destination.
Excellent atmosphere. The tempura spin on fried foods is delightful. Salad was well balanced and tasty with mandarin oranges and chow mein.
Saturday late lunch. Great burgers. Square chicken salad a hit. Sweet potato nachos, just ok but corn salsa saved it. Fish tacos (fried) very good. All washed down with some Oberon's while sitting outside on Washington Ave. Attentive service. Would come back

Every bite was delicious. Wait staff was very nice, food was timely and I liked the atmosphere. The chef even let us try the two dessert options on the house. Makes me wish I lived in Lansing so I could eat here more often.
This isn't a bad spot to dine at all. It has a very upscale atmosphere for a bar in a college town. The menu is somewhat limited, but the food was delicious. Sometimes the dj sucks though, the music often times blares so it doesn't have the best atmosphere for conversation
Talk about a great location downtown. The atmosphere inside was really calm & made it easy to relax & catch a bite to eat. Bathrooms were clean & the food was really good. The service however was just very underwhelming unfortunately. My order came out with a couple things I requested not to have on my sandwich. I didn't complain, just picked off what I didn't want & placed in a nice pile on my plate which she seen but didn't care to comment on. That was the only "check on" we received during our hour there. After sitting there for awhile (no longer eating) I finally was able to get her attention for some boxes & our check. Again, the food & atmosphere were great. Not badly priced either!
Our server was Eric at the bar and he was amazing. Full bar and the staff was on point and kept the process flowing. Appreciate their attentiveness and smiling faces on a Sunday after a long week of work. This place never disappoints!
I hadnt checked this place out because of the meh reviews. Then, I went there because I was invited and the drinks were great and cheap. Also had great service. The atmosphere was more upscale than a lot of places in lansing and we enjoyed that. The bartender did mention that they were having trouble finding good people to work there so I can see that potentially being an issue that was addressed in the prior reviews of slow service. I did not eat but the menu looked good and I will definitely be back. I will update if I have a negative experience with the food.
I would have given 5 stars but there was no one at the door upon entering at the host podium. It was around 2:15pm I believe they are open for pm service, it was Friday. The menu is standard American fare nothing to write home about, I suppose this is the appeal and due to it's location to the state capitol. I ordered a "cheap date" draft beer and Absolut on the rocks, Totally delicious! I'd go back if I lived in Lansing, thank goodness I don't, but this would be a great place to visit regularly.
Eric is amazing. The Long Island iced tea he made for me was outstanding. You would never believe that this man is 37 years old.. Great place to visit.and eat.
Upscale bar food, great service, unique deserts ( the waffle with ice cream was good definitely worth a try but not an every time thing, ask for extra Nutella )
Brunch edit: great mimosas (less champagne more Orange juice for 3$ is great. I'd rather have two of these then one for 6$ that's basically just champagne) chicken and waffles are also really good. Grilled chicken then breaded and fried. Homemade waffles. Very well done.
Food was good. Went for brunch and the spread was really nice. Would recommend for anyone in the downtown area.
We were looking for a dog friendly patio and it did not disappoint. We had a burger and Mac and cheese and both were very good. The server brought a bowl of water for our doggo.....no complaints. Would recommend.
Tavern and Tap is a great place to grab a drink and some food in Downtown Lansing. The atmosphere is really welcoming and the staff are super friendly. The beer selection is good, and they offer a variety of cocktails as well. The menu has something for everyone. Overall, I recommend Tavern and Tap for a fun night out with friends a casual dinner or a spot to get brunch in beautiful Downtown Lansing.
Every year we travel to Lansing on business. One of the best places to eat in my opinion. Service is very attentive and friendly. Try the cedar plank salmon if you like seafood! The place also offers a variety of drinks including craft beers. If you eat outside on the patio you can ee the capitol building which is beautiul at night. I will post a photo.
