This is the best place to go when you are in Vegas. Best margaritas I have ever had! We have been coming to Vegas for the past 4 years and service just gets better every year. Food is amazing and drinks are even better. Alex and Kelli at the bar are the best bartenders out there. Always friendly and professional. This is our home away from home and every time we are in town we just can’t stay away from this place.
Great food quality, reasonable prices, good portions, excellent customer service, I would definitely recommend and would come back again! I had the frozen mango margarita and the flautas appetizer for lunch and it was enough to satisfy my hunger, the avocado salsa was simply delicious!!
Went here for my birthday lunch and it was wonderful. The margaritas were perfect and so was the food, loved my chicken tacos and the guacamole. Our waitress Laura L was amazing, she had the kitchen make us guacamole without peppers and also brought us a small tasting of the soup to see if we’d like it before ordering. Lastly, She brought me a piece of cake with a candle at the end for my birthday. Great service and great food. We will definitely be back here!
Had a lovely meal recently where they happily adapted the dishes to make them vegan for me and my sis..We really appreciated this..Our server was attentive and recommended me a gorgeous cocktail as I was sick of all the sweet drinks I had been having !! It was so lovely to sit by the canal and enjoy some great food x
I don’t usually leave reviews but this place was great. The food was delicious and the views of the canal were beautiful, but the jalapeño margarita was to die for. I walked a couple miles twice just to get another one. I wish this restaurant isn’t so far away from Pa. I’m going to try to make it at home myself.
Amazing food. We had Nathan as our server and he was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. They have definitely added a positive spin to typical Mexican dishes. We visited this restaurant a total of 3 times during our stay. My recommendations are the micheladas, pozole verde, barbacoa, flautasy absolute favorite however was the mole!!!!! Guacamole and salsa were also great starters. Definitely will revisit.
A wonderful Mexican restaurant right on the Canal in the Venetian! Great food and drinks! Our waiter was the best! Took our picture and made sure everything was made the way we like it! We’ve been here many times and will come here again the next time we come to Vegas!
We had the rehersal dinner here for My beautiful daughter in law and son. The food was amazing !!! They took excellent care of us and the tres leches was so 😊good . Would recommend this place to everyone. We definitely will be back.
This is thus far the best restaurant I’ve eaten at during my visit here in Las Vegas. The server, Angie was phenomenal. She was very attentive to making sure she provided us with excellent customer service. The General manager Annalise was very courteous and personally delivered my mothers food to make sure it met her dairy allergy requirements. On behalf of me and my family we thank them & were astounded with the services provided. We will be coming here again.
Missing star note below...The food was quite amazing. I loved the salmon and risotto. We had ahi tuna appetizer and that was a beautiful presentation and delicious too. My friend had the pork wrapped in banana leaf. All the food was good. Their chips aren't anything exceptional, but were fine. If you make reservations you might get to sit by the water. In a curious twist, the restaurant's billing method raised our eyebrows. My friend and I each received separate checks for our meals, but here's the catch: the recommended tip amount printed on both receipts covered the total service for our entire table, not just the individual meals listed on each bill. If we hadn't been eagle-eyed, we might have unwittingly tipped double the amount. This sneaky approach soured our experience a bit, as it felt more like a sly trick than transparent customer service.
On our first night, my friends and I wanted to have a Mexican food and found this restaurant since we’re in Venetian. Service was good, John was friendly. We had a good service and good food and the drinks as well. Go try this place, there’s busy but you can be seated soon. Had a great time 👍🏻we started our night with so much fun and laughter 👍🏻Great location at the Venetian canal 👍🏻
In A Nutshell:
-Wow, I was pretty surprised at how great dining at Canonita is.
-I was expecting a normal Mexican restaurant, but the first thing that makes this place standout is that it's a CDMX (aka Mexico City) style restaurant.
-The quality of the food is top shelf.
-I enjoyed a couple of their seafood dishes (appetizer & main course).
-Each one came out piping out w/ plenty of mussels, clams, fish, octopus is very tasty sauces that you can soak up w/ toasted bread.
-My buddy ordered their skirt steak, which was phenomenal as well.
-If you enjoy margaritas, they have a nice selection of them.
-We tried their margarita flight (classic, pineapple, jalapeno or roasted rooster).
-I really enjoyed the pineapple margarita the best.
-The service is very friendly & efficient, plus they know how to recommend the right dishes.
Overall, I totally recommend this Mexican restaurant b/c it's not your typical Mexican restaurant. Having that CDMX flair really represents the capital of Mexico very well, it's like eating in Condesa but in Vegas.
My mom and I could have had a better experience!! The salmon and margaritas were to DIE for!! Our waiter was very kind and attentive. 10/10 recommend, this is a must-visit in Vegas!
Our wait time was little over 10 minutes on Christmas weekend, our attender was polite and well knowledgeable. They serve enchiladas with cilantro rice not the classic one but it was pretty good and refreshing.
We had chicken enchiladas with red and green sauce both were delicious and tortillas were super soft knife slid through easily.
Took the horchata and watermelon agua fresca, horchata was too sweet for me. More like a dessert drink, watermelon was the fresh watermelon juice with a slice of lemon tasted good.
The ambience is great beside the canal and the gondola drivers were singing on every ride.
Super cool spot to hang out by the water in the venetian. Lots of stores and shops nearby. You can see the gondola and hear some of the singing. Cool AC indoors.
The service took a bit longer than anticipated, but the food was delicious!
The cevichi was very tasty with mango and watermelon. It's not your traditionally sour/salty ceviche, but rather sweet and light. I loved it!
My partner ordered the seafood dish and seemed to love it; I ordered the beef enchiladas and they were very very good. A little too much cheese for my liking, but they beef was cooked perfectly. Rice and beans were delicious.
Canonita at The Venetian in Las Vegas is a culinary gem. The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with delicious Mexican cuisine, made for a delightful dining experience. The waterfront setting adds an extra charm, making it a must-visit. Highly recommend!
CanonitaFood Truck was amazing!! We had the chicken, beef and pork tacos. Each one was packed full of flavour and the chips and guacamole were fresh as!! They have an L-shaped bar table and a few seats in front of the food truck that you can eat at. Prices are super reasonable!! Service was quick and friendly.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Canonita! The service we received was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The margarita flight was a delightful treat, offering a variety of flavors that perfectly complemented our meal.
Speaking of the food, the enchiladas were simply outstanding. The flavors were robust, and each bite was a burst of deliciousness. The presentation was beautiful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. And let's not forget about the barbacoa—it was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. It truly exceeded my expectations.
The atmosphere at Canonita was vibrant and inviting, creating a perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The attention to detail in both the decor and the plating of the dishes showcased their commitment to providing an exceptional experience for their guests.
Overall, I can't recommend Canonita enough. From the impeccable service to the mouthwatering margarita flight, enchiladas, and barbacoa, every aspect of our visit was outstanding. If you're looking for a place to enjoy delicious Mexican cuisine with a warm and welcoming ambiance, Canonita is the place to be.
Excellent food, wonderful Cafe atmosphere on the grand canal in the Venetian, and especially amazing service. I can not say enough positive things about our experience. We had kind of a rough afternoon traveling around town...and this place turned the day around. I just had surgery and they accommodated my request for extra broth in my amazing soup, my friend had the taco sampler and got one of each, beef, fish, pork, chicken, and mushroom/vegetarian as well as some chips and salsa. The cocktail with the coconut was well prepared, the presentation was beautiful, and the coconut was very fresh. Our server went above and beyond, and the manager whom I spoke to compliment the experience (it was that good) was gracious and friendly. If you are wandering this area, take the time to stop. Prices were quite fair considering the venue (taco sampler $25, elaborate cocktail $16, soup, which would make a lunch on its own for some people $10ish).
P.S. if you are going to the Venetian theatre, they will not allow you to take bags of leftovers inside, so we threw away a lot of great leftovers...not the restaurants fault by any means...it just sucked because the food was so excellent.
This is a fantastic restaurant where the service is as good as the food. Such a lovely location watching the world go by (as well as the gondola’s)! Big shout out to Rico our waiter who was attentive yet not intrusive and let us have a relaxing meal taken at our own speed. The best food and service we have had in Vegas!
This place was really good....the host at the front sadly was fairly rude even though we had a reservation, but Laura, our server made up for it, and so did the food/drinks! If you like good pairings, try the carne asada with a roasted rooster margarita (the best!) or a margarita flight that also has a jalapeno margarita. It was heaven in my mouth. My partner had the pineapple margarita which was so good but sweet and the barbacoa was sweet and smokey and so good too! Definitely worth a visit!
Great tacos especially the beef and flautas. The salsa with the chips had just the right amount of heat.
It can be kind of noisy as it’s in the shopping canal. I’d recommend a reservation and getting a table by the canal to watch the gondolas.
I had a wonderful experience in this restaurant. Our waiter Rico, was very friendly, offering an excellent service and he surprised us by bringing a dessert to our table for me and my boyfriend’s birthday. The food, the place and service are excellent!
Super fun venue with seating next to the gondolas. The food was mouth watering! Amazing barbacoa and chille!
Really enjoyed the food here! The churros are absolutely delicious too! The atmosphere is amazing. We will definitely come here again!
I have a special place in my heart for Venice. My wife and I had dinner at Cononita at The Venetian. We sat right by The Grand Canal, and it was fun seeing the gondolas running back and forth. Our waitress was great. She had some great suggestions and recommendations. I wound up getting a seafood dish, and they provided a good quantity of fish and shellfish. I would definitely eat there again.
