Mama Chavez's Taqueria in Leroy, New York is simply amazing. From the excellent service at the counter, to fresh and delicious cooking in the kitchen, to fantastic food at the table, I really enjoyed my Saturday afternoon dinner here. The family is pleasant and generous, and the food delivers. The salsa was a bit different than what I am used to, but was really fresh and good. I need to try it again. I really liked it. The tacos are crisp and light. Best chips I've had in Western New York. Salsa might be too. Highly recommend. Flavor and value make this place among the best in Central to Western NY.
This is a GEM! Must stop to enjoy. (Homemade hot sauce warning to all) Went back for my bday and notice many new items on the menu I need to try. Of course I wanted everything 5*s My Favorite is the Street Toco combo with fresh guacamole and the Fiesta Bowl. Don't forget to try the Dessert Empanadas

This place is the real deal.
Had Beef, a Steak, and a Chicken Taco with the works on it: Cilantro, Onion, Choice of Cheese( Queso), and Tomato. Sour Cream, Guacamole, Hot Sauce on the side. Everything was amazing and fresh.
Worth the drive. Currently take-out only. Family run. My new Taco Tuesday Favorite!
Jose is a chill dude, the nachos are massive portions, and the prices aren't bad. Since moving to the area for an assignment, we started looking for some good Mexican food. Being from Texas, we are admittedly a bit picky, but Mama Chavez manages to deliver.
If you are a new resident, are passing through, or you are a local oldie and just haven't tried them yet...well, I think it's time to make a stop!
We got takeout and loved everything! I would definitely recommend this place for a quick, local bite! My husband and daughter got the chicken quesadilla. I got the chicken tacos and loved the homemade taco shells.

We went there after a day out in the country side and it was a great choice. Amazing food, super friendly staff and a quaint little place. The hot salsa was particularly excellent.
