Great local food for a good price. Best BBQ in Lee’s Summit area in my opinion. Local gem with excellent friendly service. Had the pulled pork special and burnt ends, which were both excellent! Homemade sauces were great also!
Nothing to complain about. Meat is tenders, flavorful, sauces are all great, priced well, hometown feel. Even on a bad day, it's still better then most.
Very good pulled pork and mild BBQ sauce !!! Very affordable
Awesome Carolina style pulled pork sandwich, the only quam I have with this place is the sauce, I peeked in the back and I believe the sauce isn't homemade or original.
A nice local BBQ place. I like this place. The sauce is a touch on the sweet side for my tastes but it goes great the meal and the staff are friendly.
Great BBQ.. I love the Filling Station. I think it is great on so many levels. The unassuming flare of a old gas station turned into a BBQ restaurant and the quality of the BBQ is great. Although I have written previously that I am a sucker for BBQ and haven't found many I do not like.
But I tried the smoked wings and the pulled pork with the hot bbq sauce and it was tremendous. Tender pork, matched well with the sauce, the wings crispy and full of flavor. I'll be back.
Great BBQ. This place serves up great food and the staff is always really friendly. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich. I love that they serve cream soda!! It's only downfall is that it's so small inside that you rarely find a seat on busy days, and in fact sometimes run out of room to stand while you wait for your food! On the upside, there are a few large tables outside - which is where BBQ was meant to be eaten anyway! We sometimes share a table with other couples if it's still too crowded.
My entire family loves this place. Great sauce great service. Love the atmosphere, too.
My go to lunch spot. This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch in Lee's Summit. My usual order is the smoked wings and fries. I have a hard time trying new things here because I love this menu item so much. But when I do branch out and order something different I kick myself for not trying new things sooner. Another bonus is they have hot sauce that is actually hot. Great bbq!!!!!!!!!!
Conflicted Opinions. I must admit, I want to write that this place is an amazing alternative to the big time, historical joints in KC, right here in downtown Lee's Summit. But, it's not. It's okay.
It is, however, a really neat little place. At some point this place was a gas station, complete with extremely old pumps, well kept, and a lobby that is size-wise appropriate to its gas station heritage...which means about 8 people can fit into this place.
I'm not sure there is really a specialty here, but the ribs, burnt ends, and sausage are all fairly good, though certainly not spectacular. They are, however, very good for the 'burbs. What makes this place special isn't really the food. It's the atmosphere. You're in downtown Lee's Summit, newly renovated and snazzed-out JoCo style, but with a distinct essencee of Mainstreet USA. There are triangular (delta) benches outside where the cars would have parked to gas-up, and the intoxicating aroma of bbq permeates the air. If you east inside, it's like an intensely smaller version of Arthur Bryant's, complete with dirty floors the order window. This is a good place to hit for lunch when you're downtown, but not really a place I would ever consider going out of my way to get to.
You can smell this place a mile away.. I work close to this place so we eat here a lot. I love walking out of this place full and smelling like smoked meat (and you will smell like it for the rest of the day). All of their sandwiches are great and not to expensive. They have a Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich which actually tastes like the ones they have in the South (and they really put the slaw on top of the sandwich) and great burnt ends. Oh, and this place is tiny (like 8 tables) so no room for a big group.
Bottom Line: Great food, good prices.
This is my favorite place for BBQ. The place is small and unique, the food is standard and very consistent in quality, and the prices are pretty good as well. This happens to also be the closest BBQ to where I live so I've eaten there a lot over the last 10 years or so. I've never had a wrong order, my food is the same quality every time, and the people that work there are friendly locals. Support local businesses when possible!
Love their Texaco Oil memorabilia! Especially the new additions! Great BBQ and appetizers! We're going back soon!
Great food. Good price. Very friendly atmosphere. Fast service. Nice Texaco items as their decor. Still a great place. We stopped again this year.
I have to say as a chef. That was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever eaten
Good food although a little pricey for what you get. I will definitely return.
