Our first visit since the remodeling & reopening was 12/08/23. Food was still tasty, but prices have increased (as they have in all restaurants recently). Dining area has a fresh look, new tables & decor. Because there are no dividers, front counter yelling of orders & kitchen noise are still very noticeable to patrons in the dining area.
The newly renovated dining room is beautiful! The girls and cooks are hustling even though it is really busy. The food is worth the wait. It's not FAST food.... it's FRESH food! So glad they're back!

The food is excellent. Plenty of flavor, tender meats, great California rolls. Might be a little chilly inside the restaurant but it's still a good place to take your family.
We had Nara today and the food was so good! The staff there were working their tails off. If I had been in their shoes I would have had a panic attack with all the customers inside and at the drive thru but they were doing amazing! Glad to have Nara back!
Great job on your reopening! It seems you have some kinks to work out (whoever is shouting orders through the window for example, it's extremely disruptive to the dine-in customers), but overall we're very glad to have you back! Well done!

Every time I’m in town to visit, I make a point of coming here for my hibachi chicken and sweet carrots. Moved to Hawai’i from NC over 17 years ago and regularly enjoy international cuisine, including authentic Japanese food and Japanese-influenced food. Even at the huge Shirokiya market in Ala Moana, there’s simply no hibachi chicken dish I like as much as this one. I haven’t personally had any of the other dishes on their menu because when I visit Nara Express, I’m seriously just there for one thing lol. They get it right every time and give great service, have a drive thru, and my fav dish is always winnahz!! 5-stars!! I want to say if they ever offer something like a pan seared furikake ahi or maybe a poke bowl, I would probably (for the first time ever) get something besides the hibachi chicken....but knowing me I’d still get it to save for later haha cuz they have the best.
Nara is our favorite takeout in Caldwell County! No complaints ever, after over 15 years....
So glad Nara has re-opened. This place is just as good as before the fire, maybe better.
