We had a private dining room for my son's graduation party, we had such a good time with delicious food, and great service. Jamie set things up , Nikki C. was the manager and Zachary was our server. We were very pleased and would recommend this to anyone who wants a quiet room, great food, and great service.
Kind considerate staff! The manager was incredible last night. He taught us all about bourbon and the chef created an all vegan meal for my son who is visiting for his cousins wedding from Purdue. Thank you!
Went for lunch... Our waiter Matt was excellent! The food, service, and atmosphere was top notch, as always!
We love dining at Malones ...it was our one anniversary and we met at Malones on our first date .The food was outstanding as always ...I enjoyed the king crab and filet mignon ...I ask the sweet server to box my potato and filet ...and fiancé didn't finish his either ...to box his also ...I was excited to have it for my lunch but the server only boxed his and not mine ...the server was awesome though ...I'm sure Malones will make it right .
I have been twice to this place -- over the top excellence in every way! Great food, service, service, service, and love the atmosphere.
Me and my husband went on Valentine's Day the service was wonderful and the food outstanding. I would recommend this place.

We celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary here!!! The staff was so sweet, wishing us happy anniversary when we came in. We had excellent dinners, the Artic Salmon was so moist and seasoned just right. My Filet and fried shrimp were perfect and melted in your mouth!! Excellent evening topped off with Cheesecake from the chef!!! Go there- you will love it!!!

The food was amazing and the service was too. The food was definitely worth the pay.
Best old fashioned I've ever had (and that's what I drink just about everywhere) and easily one of the top 3 steaks I've ever had. Great service as well.
The only thing better than the food at Malone's is the service. The wait staff is unbelievably knowledgable about the menu and drinks. I had the fillet with grilled shrimp and lobster mac & cheese... out of this world. I will be returning.
Same as every other Malone's/Drake's/Aqua, good food, pretty good service. Always pricey but the steak and crab Rangoon roll are worth it to me! Also love the Mahi Mahi and potato croquets.
I have never had a bad experience at any Malone's/Drake/Aqua etc.. restaurants. The steaks are always spot on, the service is attentive in the restaurant, and there is always an atmosphere to your liking. My only minor complaint is there seems to be a nasty smell at the inside bar at Drake's on Tate's Creek so I just avoid that area. Great job, one of my go-to favorite places.
This Malone's has a decent atmosphere. That's the worst thing I can say about it. The food was fantastic, the service impeccable.
I had the twin fillets Oscar. There wasn't a lot of crab in the sauce, but it tasted so good I didn't mind much. The asparagus was perfect. As was the medium rare steak.
My wife had end cut prime rib. They actually knew what an end cut was. Most steak houses just toss a slice under the broiler and think you can be fooled. Not this place. It was also perfectly cooked and tasty. They even provided sour cream and fresh horseradish without being prompted. The wife was frabjous with delight.
For sides we had the whipped potatoes, which is just very good, very smooth mashed potatoes. With a surplus of whipping cream I suspect. We also had the lobster mac&cheese. It wasn't as thick and gooey as I imagined. But it was filled with bits of lobster and perfect pasta in a super rich cream sauce. Very yummy!
The wife had Merlot, I had a Malbec, both wines were excellent. Even the house salad was delightful We plan to return.
Excellent food, excellent service! Definitely will return next time in Lexington!
Our Go-To Place.... ... for special events, as well as great evenings out with family and friends. We love it so much that our daughter's rehearsal dinner was here--well, that was the groom's family's decision ,but we were behind them 100%--and we had our own pre-wedding special family dinner here just a few weeks ago! The set menus for their reserved room events are fantastic. We have done this twice now, and never one bad item, and the first time, we had 30 people there, the second, 17.
When we just eat there as a night out (without reserving an upstairs room), we have always experienced the same thing: delicious food, knowledgeable servers, great ambiance.
Pricey, worth it, special, memorable.
Good Place for a Special Celebration.. Recently had a birthday dinner and had a great experience. Everything from Crab to topped filets and prime rib. All perfectly cooked and expertly served during the holiday chaos.
Good variety of appetizers pleased the palates of 10 of us.
Thanks for helping make it a great birthday!
AMAZING ! Great experience! Sushi was great and steak was great! It wasn't the worlds best steak but it was really good and the prices were reasonable for what you get! 5 star service !!
Always amazing. Best steakhouse of lexington!
Malone's is a great restaurant for a date or even a night out with family or friends. The steak entres go great with some sushi from the sushi bar. It is not a cheap experience, but this is the kind of place that is worth a couple extra bucks.
Good and service were both exceptional, prices were slightly more than chain steak houses but well worth it! We will be back again without question!
Great Fine Dining.. One of the best places to get a truly fantastic steak in town.
Pretty good. I little busy for my taste, but as I try to expand my reviews on here I decided to try this place. I must say the steak was not as good as bakers 360 but seeing as they are closed now I guess second best will have to do. It was cooked to a perfect rare but it just took a little longer to get than I like (this is why I tend to prefer smaller places) the staff was wonderful and the decor was nice. I will be going back to give it another run on a night that maybe they aren't so busy.

I'm back in .... When i have a bad experience at a rest I rarely return, but it's been several years, so I've been to eat at Malone's a few times at the end of last year and didn't realize that they make the BEST fried zuccini! Being part of BHG, which encompasses several local Lex rest, one of them was Regatta which is where I would get my fried zuccini-not good, too thick. so now, I know where to go! Oh yes, and great huge baked potato!
Twelve Ounces to Love. Sounds like a bad pickup line, intended. I hate that R.Z. had such a bad experience here and it would be a expensive one, dang. I have had better luck here at Malone's though. First I had the Stripped Bass sashimi. It comes from the Aqua sushi bar menu (give credit where credit is due). Aqua and Drake's are both part of Malone's but function on thier own also. Its a pretty neat complex really. You can go to Malone's with your wife or date and have a romantic, upscale meal and then walk directly into Drake's from inside Malone's. Now you and your wife/date are ready to meet friends and have drinks in a more relaxed atmosphere where you can still get food items if anyone gets hungry. Anyway, back to the sashimi. I have to say that this was some of the freshest fish that I have had in town and we eat a lot of sushi/sashimi. I must admit that I was not expecting the sashimi to taste this good. The texture was very nice firm enough to hold together very nicely but had a soft almost velvety texture in your mouth. Each piece was sized very nicely, you didn't feel like you were trying to stuff Joe Namath's soy soaked head into your mouth. The presentation was well done and actually excited me more about the endeavor before me. There was also ample wasabi and pickled ginger which can be lacking at some establishments. Next was the Ceasar salad with anchovy slices. Very nicely done with the lettuce cut properly and a good ratio of bright green to lighter (less flavorful and hard) pieces. Nothing worse than a Ceasar salad that taste like dumpster water. There was also a perfect amount of dressing that was well mixed so that no dry spots existed. All adults know that a dry spot is not the right spot, opps. Now for the main course, the 12 ounce Prime Rib. they also have a 16 ouncer if you wish. I ordered my Prime Rib to be done medium and it was perfectly so. It was served with creamy horseradish and Au Jus. I asked for the server to bring me a bit of dry horseradish simply because I prefer that. I did however taste the others and both were very nice with the steak. The steak came out at the proper serving temperature not hot enough to burn your mouth which is what you get most places and that is simply unacceptable for a good steak taste. R.Z. is right about the juices spilling out but that is intentional on thier part and a result of the cooking method. However, I can see any delicate sides on the plate, like the fries, getting ruined quickly. I had the baked potato with butter and sour cream though. Malone's, hands down, makes my favorite steak in town. I have always had a great experience with the food here, including the excellent Walleye. The place is a step up in grade of meat, thickness of cut, and cooking method. I would call it the Ruth's Chris of Lexington. Its my opinion and opinions are like taste buds, everybodies got thier own.
The Best Steak I've ever eaten. Please order the "Cowboy Rib Eye" Medium Rare...OMG it is the BEST steak I have ever put in my mouth. The first bite is out of this world. I promise you will not regret this choice. My husband and I split the steak because it is that big and each have a side (I like their roasted asparagus) we also order the house salad. The bread is outrageous. While your waiting for your table order a Dirty Martini with Ketel One vodka and 2 olives stuffed with blue cheese. The Best!!!! I'm telling you..... You will thank me.
Always killer good. I am a carnivore. I like steaks, chops, it all. Therefore if you present those to me with a good salad and a baked tater I am in 8th heaven. Its a lovely place and they do it right. No cheap but what the hell, you got to give it over every once in a while.
Good Dinner, Steak Average. My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and was good. I did not like sitting next to the door for Drakes (noisy and cold breeze). The Spinach and Artichoke Dip with fried lasagna noodles was awesome. My filet was average, it feel like I could have gotten a better steak at Outback or Texas Roadhouse. But what I have been dreaming about is the fabulous coconut cream pie and I don't like coconut cream pie but I want to go back just for that and that is why Malone's gets an 'I Like'
More expensive that Urbanspoon would have you believe.. Edit: Urbanspoon has corrected the price range.
Urbanspoon lists the price as $15-25, but steak at Malone's starts at $20 and goes up to $50. Non-steak entries (pork chops, chicken, fish, pasta, etc.) are in the $15-25 price reange, but Malones is a steak house and saying the prince range is $15-25 is very misleading since very few steaks are in this price range.
Quality choice.. The best waitress I ever had works here, Tracy (Tracey?). My dad owns several restaurants and I have told him several times he needs to try to steal her away from here and give her a huge raise and she will earn it. Sorry for that plug, but she is great...request if you can and you will not be disappointed!
On to the food...
Calamari ap is good, but ask for the sauce on the side as they smother it to the extreme and you lose the crunchy crispy goodness.
Steaks are good, but have been inconsistent. Had several great steaks, a few cooked way to long or not enough according to how they were ordered, and even got a strip steak once when I ordered a ribeye (the king of cuts!).
Artichoke dip is not the best.
Good steak salad.
Tuna is cooked well.
Get yourself a rewards card. After a while of using mine I got an invitation to a wine tasting for top 10% of customers ($$ wise I suppose?).
I wish they would combine the best of this group's other restaurants! Sal's Mac and Cheese is FAR FAR FAR superior! Malone's is watered down and not very good at all. I also wish they would adopt Sal's caprese salad.
Nice atmosphere. Not cheap, but recommended.
Best Steak I've Ever Had.... Hands Down. My husband and I used to frequent Malone's on special occasions. Their beef reputation proceeds them... so we ordered steaks. Me a NY Strip and my hubby a ribeye. I don't think we spoke to eachother for the rest of the meal because we were so entranced by these steaks! I dont' know what people are talking about this restaurant but it's awesome... the price is high but the food is SO worth it.
I love it. Every time I got it's great
Good Food. Good food. Not a romantic spot though.
Good steaks and very expensive.
Good, but a bit overpriced. $25 for an 8 oz piece of meat is a bit much for me. Although that 8 oz piece of meat is mighty good, plus they have great bread and an excelent house salad.
I LOVE Malones! They have great steaks.......and the crab legs are good too! I also recomend their house salad and sushi! Mmmmm
Bone in Rib eye. I recommend it strongly. Best flavored steak i have had in a long time. It was enjoyed by 2 others at our table.
Always good. We've eaten here by ourselves, with friends, and with our company in the banquet room - service has always been perfect, food is very good, warm loaf bread, great wine list - romantic!
Enjoyed malone's. I always have enjoyed eating here, a little more dressy than most sit-downs around, but always impressed. Chicken strips and/or shrimp are my fav. Serving sizes are plenty and usually call for take-home boxes.
