Definitely plan on going back! The food was amazing and I thought the service was very good as well. Kaitlind was our server and I recommend you ask for her when you go. I had chicken Marsala which was one of the best versions I’ve had anywhere. A+
Absolutely the best Italian food in Lexington!!! The marinara is light, and bursts with flavor! Everything is always wonderful.
We love Paisano's! The food is always excellent, and the atmosphere is comfortable and laid back. When we have out of town guests, we love to take them there because we know they won't be disappointed.
In my opinion this is the best Italian food in Lexington! Their spaghetti sauces are to die for! Reasonably priced...friendly atmosphere. Good vegetarian choices too! One of Lexington's best kept secrets! Highly recommended!!!
This place is what old-school Americanized Italian is about. Good food, lots of options, reasonable prices, great service. Will definitely be back for more tasty dishes.
Absolutely delicious! The food was amazing and the service was great. Can’t wait to go back!
By far my favorite Italian food. My fiancé and I came here after our engagement and have come at least once a month! The mozzarella appetizer is amazing, yet to have a bad meal
Love this place so much. Excellent excellent meals.... great staff.
The best authentic Italian restaurant in Lexington.
Absolute best!!!! There is no better italian food in lex!
Paisanos is always delicious, it’s locally owned, and everything, EVERYTHING, is home made. The soup, the rolls, sauces, everything. Mark is a great chef and wonderful person. I ordered on uber eats tonight and my food was still hot and delicious as if I had gotten it while eating there. I love paisanos forever
Excellent food and amazing service! I highly recommend it!
My first time dining at Paisano's. The food and the service were excellent! My complements to the chef and to my server!
Paisano's was absolutely delicious. Ordered for delivery early, around 5, and was told it would be a little late (45mins to MLK) because the ovens were still heating up. The very friendly guy shows almost exactly 45 minutes later, and even brought me a homemade samosa from his nation of Afghanistan... Even that was perfection!
Just took my elderly parents to Paisano's and I don't know how it could have been a better experience. The food was excellent. Mom's chicken parmesan was very tender and my chicken Paisano was delicious. It's a hole in the wall Italian place like I love. If you're looking for upscale surroundings, this ain't it. If you're looking for great food and great service from people that have been doing it forever, this is your place.
An underwhelming experience at Paisano's. Although service was adequate, the atmosphere and the decor desperately need to be updated, and the cuisine, at least in my opinion, simply misses the mark. For an appetizer, we ordered the fried potatoes, which were sliced too thickly (and accordingly were not crispy enough); also, I ordered the minestrone soup, which was more broth and salt than vegetables, and the dinner rolls tasted dry. For my entree, I ordered the chicken cacciatora (sautéed chicken with mushrooms, onion, and green peppers, with marinara and served over linguini pasta), which consisted of overcooked chicken and too much sauce. For my wife's entree, she ordered the chicken picatta (boneless chicken breast sauteed in a delicate lemon garlic sauce, served with spaghetti), which she said was full of flavor and tasty. We will likely return, but not any time soon.
An old favorite. Yes, the decor & menu is like being in a time machine and traveling to 1985, but... It's a dependable favorite that never disappoints. It's comforting, traditional Italian food. We've always had excellent service and yeah, it's cheesy, but I love it!!! Don't change a thing, please!
Great service. I thought I should share my great experience at this restaurant, I've been here multiple times and have had multiple different waiters but this time I had Caci as a waitress and she made my dine in experience wonderful, she's very sweet and stayed on top of everything. My drinks never went empty. My food came out fast. I will definitely come back and request her as my waitress!
Best Italian food. Paisano's has the best Italian food I have eaten. their decor is somewhat old fashioned, but that doe snot bother me. the food is simply excellent, and their sauces are so flavorful. I love the place.
So good!. Paisanos is my favorite place to go for Italian.
Now, I'm not a "foodie" so I have to admit some of the other reviews at this website surprised me. My response? Where would they find something better in Lexington? *And how much are they paying for this meal?* I've been to nearly all of the Italian restaurants in Lexington, and folks, most of what you find is either extremely overpriced or the food (particularly the meat) is obviously preprocessed.
My favorite dishes at Paisanos are their Tuscan chicken, veal Parmesan, chicken roma, and their Italian sampler. The top price is $17.95. I've had these dishes at other restaurants in town, and * in this price range * you will not get a recognizable piece of chicken or veal. No, you'll have to pay at least $12 more to get that. (And if you've got a budget that can handle $30 entrees, more power to you.)
The service has improved since the owner's offspring are not part of the general staff. (While I understand how things work when your parents own a restaurant, most of the time the children are just a little too familiar to have a strong work ethic in that environment.) I will say that if you're in a hurry or go through a beverage quickly, for goodness sakes, *tell your server*. The owners want you to enjoy your meal and aren't going to rush your visit like in a chain restaurant.
Also let me emphasize: *Paisanos is a family restaurant*. The owners get to know their customers. So if you've got a particular kind of wine you like, you can actually get them to stock it. Same thing for a particular entree you like. They will bend over backwards to make it for you the way you like it. Now, the owners run their restaurant on a budget, so if the restaurant is packed you may have to wait an extra ten minutes sometimes. This is rare, but when it does happen you can tell that it isn't because you're being ignored.
I hope you give Paisanos a chance. It's a great little place, especially for a family on a budget. When my family eats there, we spend about $20 per person plus we take home enough leftovers for another meal if I add an additional vegetable from my pantry. We are all girls, and that average of $10 per meal means we can eat at a nice restaurant instead of eating fast food. Well worth it.
Great place to go as a family.
Nice family meal. Had a filling meal on a bitterly cold night! The restaurant was quiet and it was nice to have a calm meal with the family. The restaurant is small compared to a lot of the chains but very comfortable. The food was good and a generous portion for me. I had the chicken primavera and was pleased to see the amount of vegetables and chicken compared to the pasta instead of a pile of pasta with a few veggies and few bites of chicken. The only thing I would have liked different was that the rolls were a little overdone but they were hot and fresh from the oven.
Worth a try. Paisano's is a nice little treat. i found the quality of food to be excellent and i have always had wonderful service. my parents often request this when the visit lexington and i'm very happy to oblige.
A great family- run restaurant with all the Italian classics well done. My husband loves the homemade minestrone soup.
A great Italian meal. Paisano's is not much to look at from the outisde. It's tucked back in the corner of a little strip of shops on Nicholasville Road, and you have to look closely just to find it. But get inside and order dinner and this little restaurant will really impress you. Let me name some things I love about this place: a large menu full of wonderful Italian entrees, nice wine list, full bar, hot-out-of-the-oven Italian rolls, an atmosphere of an old time Italian restaurant from days gone by, and don't let me forget, some great service.
First time here and Food was GREAT !!! Real Italian food.. We had the Chicken Parm and the Chicken Roma with white sauce. Felt like we were back home in NY eating in Little Italy... The gravy (Sauce) was delicious. Our waitress was awesome and from Los Angeles California.......We will be back.....
Greatly exceeded my expectations! From what I could surmise, just about everyone at my table enjoyed the food. Would recommend the portabella shells. Despite being someone who generally doesn't like mushrooms, I really enjoyed this dish! I greatly appreciated the service as well, and would definitely recommend the restaurant.
Great food and old-school atmosphere. I do wish you could sit at the bar for cocktails, though.
I love this little place. The atmosphere is very unique as it gives you an old school feel. Music is lovely Italian music. All tables are sectioned off so that you can have personal space to talk and dine. The food is delicious. Tasted so yummy and the portion sizes are extremely suitable especially for the price. If I ever want Italian I will always eat at Paisano's. I also love that it is local and not a chain establishment. I highly encourage you to eat there and give it your own try.
