Awesome place! Really cool steel safe interior and great food. Menu is unique unlike typical sushi places. Staff is always super friendly. I’ll definitely come back.
I ordered the ramen with EAK broth, bamboo, chashu, soft boiled egg, corn and garlic+onion chili and the vegetable tempura. They put the wrong topping, spinach instead of corn but it still tasted ok and since it was a delivery the restaurant was more than happy to give me a refund. I made a delivery order and the food was packaged very well with extra precautions to make sure nothing spilled. Also, the broth for my ramen was packaged separate so the ramen noodles would not get soggy. With that being said the food tasted very good. I loved that you start with a base for your ramen and add on toppings. The chashu pork was 50% fat and 50% meat but will leave you craving for more because of how good it is. Will definitely get again except without the Bamboo and chili oil on the side instead of in the soup. That way I can add just the right amount to my liking. The vegetable tempura was delicious. Fried just right and the tempura was coated in high quality batter. The tempura I received included and amazing variety of vegetables and I loved that it came with a lot of tempura sauce so I could dip my veggies in it. A little disappointed that I didn’t get the corn topping for my ramen but thats ok, everything tasted amazing.
This restaurant is at a good location right at the center of downtown Lexington Really good Hot pot and sushi options.
It seemed like i walked into a vault .
A little pricey for my liking but overall everything seemed good.
Wonderful selection, fantastic service. I had the medium chef's choice sashimi and even if it was a bit pricey it did not disappoint. I was satisfied and ok with the price. Great date night spot. I will definitely be back.
Excellent Japanese restaurant in the middle of Downtown Lexington, KY.. Very good authentic Japanese meal. The sushi were very fresh and tasty. The restaurant atmosphere was on point, very clean and elegant. The staff was very profesional and friendly. Highly recommend.
(Apologies for the half eaten food in photos, I forgot to take them before we ate!) School Sushi was SO delicious! If you're a salmon lover, the fatty salmon was great. My other favorite was the spicy tuna tempura. The restaurant also did a great job of social distancing with plenty of room between tables - it felt very safe to me. Thanks for a great meal!
This place has high quality sushi and delicious food! We got a couple different types of sushi, rolls, and appetizers. Everything was so good! The service was pretty good and even though they were a little slow in bringing out the food, it was worth the wait.
Although I am not a sushi fan, there is nothing bad that I can say about this restaurant, they definitely earned my 5 star rating!
We found parking on the street about a block away... which is free on weekends ... and walked in on a random Saturday night. We were seated promptly in the rear dining area which is pretty open but since we were seated at the wall, it still felt quite private. The interior decor is mostly modern mixed with a bit of historical treasure. You’ll have to check it out to see what I mean!
The wait staff was wonderful. So friendly, helpful and efficient. Since I’m new to sushi, they were very patient and helpful to answer any of my questions about the food and menu.
There were so many different kinds of sushi and sashimi options to choose from along with other Japanese plates. We ordered an appetizer and chose a few sushi plates to share. I also decided on my own entree in case I didn’t care for the sushi. Beautiful presentation and very tasty dishes! I’m still not a fan of sushi but I did enjoy some of the sushi that I tried. I’ll have to go back again and try some other options, I’m sure that I would end up loving it all eventually!
Overall a very enjoyable visit and I would absolutely recommend School to anyone for some authentic Japanese cuisine!
