I am on a quest for the best breakfast in KC. This morning was the best all around breakfast restaurant so far. We started off with cappuccino's which were tasty. Then breakfast came. Chocolate chip pancakes that were truly a pan-cake. They had a nice selection of pancakes. My companion had the Ginger classic. The bisquits were moist and flaky on the outside with a side of gravy. Bacon was peppery and sweet. You could taste the apple flavor. Breakfast potatoes were flavorful. I highly recommend goingvto Ginger Sues to start your day. There are 3 locations in the KC area. Make sure you get there early, so you can sit back and enjoy the meal. Prices were good.
No TV's, food is ok but don'.... No TV's, food is good but don't go after church.
Gigantic pancakes! Loved it! Went here with my sister, 11 yr old niece, and 13 yr old nephew for Saturday brunch. The place has no parking lot, so its side street parking, good luck, you may be driving around the block. The wait was long, but totally worth it. The table arrangement is interesting. They have tables along the side, and counter seating, but then a big round table in the middle of the walk way... random! The FOOD!!! Oh the FOOD! I got a veggie omelet that comes with breakfast potatoes and a homemade biscuit. The biscuit was fresh, and fluffy and delicious! The omelet and potatoes... wow! The seasoning they put on it is great. They even put herbs on the bacon. Its diner food, but with a fresh artisan twist. My nephew got a stack of 4 pancakes, and he is a growing boy that can eat. The waitress warned him he couldn't handle it, but he ordered it anyway. Holy Moley! They were huge, each a size of a dessert plate, and an inch thick. He valiantly tried, but only got through half the stack. And oh so tasty! I'm going back and trying their crab eggs Benedict. They also offer an assortment of smoothies, coffee, and juices. Mmmmmmm!
Ginger Sue's is most certainly by favorite place to eat breakfast. Every item on the menu is fantastic and reasonably priced. Don't forget the bacon!!
A challenge to find with all the one way streets in downtown but well worth the effort. Omelette with home fries and a short stack was more than enough to split with someone.
Awesome food! Had a vegetable omelet, and the blueberry/strawberry compote for waffles & buttermilk pancakes is fabulous! You must stop in! :)
I like the salads and glad they toned down the herbed poatoes at bkfst. Coffee way too strong so I have to ask for hot water to add. My husband's favorite for early Saturday morning, so that's why I eat there on occasion. The owners are quite inflexible about substitutions.
Crab Benedict. Slightly under-seasoned hollandaise sauce, nicely cooked crab, and excellent portion. It's served with a side of seasoned potatoes, which compliment it well.
Great Little Place. We have taken many a business lunch here, and everyone leaves happy. You can order breakfast as long as they're open, and they also have some great lunches. Their meatball sandwich is delicious! Service is always wonderful, and we know we can count on the food being good. There's not many places around Liberty that are as consistently good as Ginger Sue's.
Gourmet Food at a Good Price. Ginger Sue's is a wonderful place for breakfast. The atmosphere is relaxed and the waitstaff are friendly and efficient. If you like pancakes, you will not be disappointed. They're nice and fluffy. My favorite menu item is the Garden Omelette. Minimal ingredients, but what they do put in is so incredibly fresh. The seasoned breakfast potatoes are a nice change from the normal hash browns. A great restaurant to visit if you want something a little different and a step up from your normal breakfast dining experience.
Whole family happy after our meal here. Excellent and unique Hawaiian omelet! Great curried carrot soup. Signature apple slaw was not too sweet and worth trying even if coleslaw isn't your favorite. Would enjoy going back :-)
Hometown food and friendliness. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly, courteous, speedy and gives a warm welcome to Downtown Liberty. Their food is refreshing and fills your soul. Stop by and enjoy your meal!
Eggs Benedict. I drive 30 minutes at least two weekends per month to go to Ginger Sue's just for their eggs benedict. I've always liked eggs benedict, but Ginger Sue's has made it become one of my favorite foods. I crave this!!

Eat the bacon. It is awesome.
Nice deli style lunch. Nice place for lunch. Ginger Sue's has daily specials and polite and efficient wait staff. The food tasted fresh and inventive.
Creative Menu. I'm going to rave a little because I think the the folks up North have a shortage of REALLY good restaurants. Seems like the bulk of yummy fare has landed in Mid Town. Now I know that Kate's Kitchen (although it's North) is no where close to Ginger Sue's but Ginger Sue's is SO much better. Creative menu and great service. My French toast was very yummy though I would have preferred fresh berries over the compote that was on it. Husband and Brother-in-law had the Aloha Omlet and were both very pleased-and my husband isn't a big fan of coconut but said it added a nice touch. And, they served a really decent iced mocha. Generally I bow down to Food Carpenter's reviews but I have to give Ginger Sue's a notch up from his assessment. Check it out for yourself and let me know.
Always a pleasure, and I love their potatos. Went their for breakfast with family after my wedding, simply awesome.
Great food. Nice old school feel to place. Definately recommend.
A great place to start your day. The waitress was friendly and joyful. The menu is straight forward as it has many common American breakfast dishes. The Salmon Benedict and Ginger’s Classic were both delicious. The potatoes that they came with were hot and fluffy. If you like First Watch (another Missouri breakfast chain), you will likely also enjoy Ginger Sue.
this place is always good. We came during Pancake week and had the best pancakes they were huge so we shared them with the table. I got an omelet that was deliscious and the breakfast potatoes I couldn't stop talking about:)
Fantastic Pumpkin Pie Latte and excellent Pumpkin Pancakes with homemade butter.
Their breakfast potatoes and bacon are some of the best I've ever had from anywhere. Always worth the wait. Very accommodating to my husband who was on crutches. Thank-you!
My husband and I went for breakfast to this amazing restaurant. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good. I had their signature apple cinnamon oatmeal and toast and he opted for an omelet. Both were excellent. Especially like the coffee at Ginger Sue’s serves, it has an excellent robust flavor but yet isn’t too harsh. I highly recommend visiting.
Our server was great.
I had biscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes.
My wife had the tenderloin.
Both were good, I'm not a huge pepper gravy guy, but Ginger Sue's was very good in spite of my preference.
Potatoes definitely were not my thing. A little "try hard", as they say in video games, with the seasoning. My preference is to go very old fashioned with salt and pepper, and these particular potatoes did not overcome my personal preference like the biscuit and gravy were able to.
My wife said she liked the tenderloin. That's it. She had no problem speaking up when food is bad, so this is a good thing. Safe spot to take the "I don't care, pick something" dinner companions.
Will go back. Service is always a main contributor to my choice to return or forgo to a restaurant. They earned another shot at my money.
They have the best pancakes. They are big, so order only one unless you're really hungry or you want a cake to go. All their food is really good. You can't go wrong here.
