I’ll be honest — I’m a clean eating snob. I moved here from Southern California and the Root has left me impressed. I’ve been here numerous times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’ve never had a bad meal. There is usually a long line for a reason — it’s excellent. The food is farm to table — nothing frozen. I’m puzzled by people who comment their food was frozen or packaged — I’ve dined here enough times to know it’s not. The juices are fresh squeezed and the produce is fresh. My personal favorite here is the Root Parfait. I’ve had their Shitake Benny, their hamburger (hold the bread), their pancakes, their banh mi — all are excellent. The prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get, as well. Contrary to what another reviewer posted, there is NO request for a 25% tip at checkout. There is a tip jar on the counter for cash tips. If you pay with plastic, the signature page gives an option of tipping varying percentages or no tip. This is my go-to place to bring visitors and to meet for brunch. The coffee and water are “serve yourself,” and you bus your own table, but so what...it’s a great little place with the reviews and the following to back it up. If you want your table bussed for you, go to Arthur’s brunch and quit complaining.
Super yummy healthy food. 💛 The Root was a blessing to us yesterday as we are driving to SoCal from NYC. We were tired & in need of good food. Thank You 🦋 Love the vibe of the place - the homey cozy decor was awesome & the cloth napkins were a loving touch. I had the Bon Mi Eggs on gluten free toast - they came with a fresh side -salad. This dish was packed with flavor !!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the most awesome little place tucked away In the middle of downtown Little Rock! I loved that it is dog friendly and that you even bring out doggies bowls! Thank had the shataki burger which was amazing with the fresh salad and eggplant fries!!! 💕 Can’t wait for my next visit with you guys! Everyone was so friendly!!! Great job to all!!!! 😁👍👏
This is the best place in Little Rock, hands down. I ordered a Vegan Banh Mi today to-go today, one of my favorite sandwiches. I just had to wait a bit longer for my food to be prepared, small mistake on the kitchen side, but they were overly completely gracious and even gave me a specialty lemonade and not one but 2 free desserts to make up for the time. So gracious- they definitely know how to make a repeat customer for sure!

Wonderful staff! Delicious, yummy and nutritious food! Love this place for all its vegan options, I know I’m getting healthy yummy food! Good for my non vegan family as well! ❤️
Excellent food. Staff extremely friendly and down to earth. Each and everyone of them smiled as they walked by us. It was super busy when we were there. Not one time did the staff ever show any frustration. Will definitely return.
My wife and I recently had breakfast there and it was fantastic. The pancakes are perhaps the best we have ever had. My omelet was delicious, bacon was thick and perfect, the orange juice was fresh squeezed. The atmosphere and service were both friendly and fun.
Amazing food!! Had the burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Great service & such a fun/unique place to go!
Unique place with delicious options. I was so surprised at the thought that seems to go in to planning the menu, drinks, desserts, etc. shiitake mushroom burger was awesome!
It is a very peculiar place. You need to wait because there is always a lot of people and the reason is simple : the food is great. If you look for a fancy place or trend forget it. You go at the root because the food and the people working there is great. Period. No other reason is needed to go there.
Great food! Great experience! Not fast food but that’s one of the reason it deserves 5 stars. They take time to make the food you order delicious!
Food is great! Service is great! Location is great! If they could just get the torpid hicks to quit standing in the door, every visit would be a delight.
This place has my heart and the fastest way to my heart is through my stomach! I’ve never had a bad experience! I usually cry when my plate is clean but always leave happy and satisfied!

I always love coming to The Root, the local food choices really make this place feel like home! I would wait in line any day to eat a meal at the root. I have only been here for breakfast and lunch. I plan to try their dinner very soon!
