That's a half slab of pork ribs! Falling off the bone meat into my mouth, incredible. Definitely Kansas City Style BBQ! The baked beans were delicious too. And top it off with some sweet tea. Definitely beats Brothers BBQ on ribs!
Everything is good, just ask the owner! He's right though - at least everything that I have sampled. Have been here twice or more, and always get ribs. They are perfect. Fall-off-the-bone, tangy sauces, and gourmet sides - yes - the sides are terrific here too. I get the beans AND the potato salad to go with my ribs (a slice of bread sits under the meat). Very friendly service both times, limited patio dining in what seems to be a dead mall (it's really quiet). Tons of parking, single-use restrooms are clean and as expected. Self-serve fountain for drinks. Prices are typical for a BBQ/ Smokehouse, but this one is worth the trip.
The owner seemed annoyed we wanted to look at the menu for a bit. By the end he seemed to get more friendly. Judging by the chalk board behind the counter this may just be his personality. The burnt ends and fries were very good. As close to Kansas City style I've found in Colorado yet. The ribs however were not good. The outside was ok but under that layer was just fat. We will return and try something new. I would recommend this place, just understand the owner may not seen like the nice person you'd expect.
Great BBQ, Fast! I had the 2 meat platter Chicken and Brisket. The BBQ sauce was delicious, homemade where you can actually see the spices in the sauce, not that mono-consistent bottle sauce you see everywhere. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The brisket had a gorgeous flavorful bark that I couldn't get enough of. I dipped my fries in the BBQ sauce, because I could drink that stuff. Not your typical BBQ that has been commercialized, try it for a little homemade BBQ taste. I will try the ribs and burnt ends on the next trip.
I used them to do a lunch for a real estate office I am new to the area and had no favorite BBQ place. After sampling their food I got the BBQ from them for my event and it was FANTASTIC!! What a big hit with all the folks.. the BBQ beef brisket, pulled pork and BBQ chicken was among the best I have ever had. Nothing but great comments from the folks as to the food. I will definitely use them again. Marc went over and above with his service and what he provided. Can't say enough good things about my experience with them. I have become a great fan and will tell lots of folks how good they are. THANK YOU MARC!!
Best BBQ in the entire STATE! I'm originally from Kansas City. I moved to Denver in the mid-1990's and was sorely disappointed in the quality of BBQ in this entire town. I tried every BBQ joint that I came across for close to 15yrs, and I finally gave up around 2005/2006. I tried all the "best places" that friends recommended, and was always disappointed. There just wasn't any good BBQ in Colorado....... Then I found Brickyard!! The owner is from Kansas City. This man KNOWS how to cook BBQ. The pork, the burnt ends, the rids..... all delicious. I don't live close, so it's quite a drive (65-70 minutes), but well worth it.
