We got takeout from Assado tonight. Verdict: very positive; great addition to the neighborhood. A little pricey compared to pizza or Chinese, but quite reasonable for the quality and type of cuisine. We will repeat.
Whole BBQ Chicken ($18) was very flavorful and not dry.
BBQ Beef Ribs ($22) had excellent beefy flavor and was not overwhelmed by the tasty seasoning. Texture was spot on.
Pork Cubes with Shrimp ($19) was outstanding. Pork was tender and shrimp were not at all rubbery. Addition of spicy pickled vegetables was very clever.
All dishes came with very generous portions of yellow rice and seasoned fries, which were some of the best fries we have ever tasted.
We did not eat in the restaurant, but it looked very nice inside with a really comfortable, subdued atmosphere.
The Portuguese BBQ at Assado is not all that different from some the Peruvian offerings at Pepe's BBQ on Pleasant Valley Way. The two restaurants are about equidistant from our house. Pepe's is just slightly less expensive. No doubt we will favor Assado when we want this type of food. We probably will try some of their other dishes next time.
The service was excellent and that’s always the most important thing. We had at least five waiters handing our table at different times and we never had to go looking for any of them. The bread was delish. The food was great. Try anything with their garlic sauce and you won’t be disappointed. They also have the best French fries! Delicious desserts!
Took my family on opening night, great service and atmosphere. Employees very friendly and attentive, definitely would recommend Assado to friends and family.

Since reviews were very mixed, I went to dinner , on a Wednesday night, at Assado. Turns out it was crowded with the Kiwanis club. Nevertheless, the food was delicious, the service was a little slow,but the... i didnt feel rushed! The prices are very competitive and the portions are worthy of the prices. I really liked the skirt steak. Cooked to order and juicy. Desserts were equally fantastic. No negatives from me
The food is excellent, and I will go back. They lost one star because; I admit it is a pet peeve of mine, but I needed to ask for the server to refill the water glasses. Otherwise, the service was excellent. I also don't know why but one dinner came with white rice and French fries, whereas all the other meals came with yellow rice and Portuguese fried potato chips. Next time I will verify that all meals include the yellow prices and chips. The parking was difficult, but they do have a parking attendant. The attendant was very helpful and made the job parking easier.
Had bbq baby back ribs, short ribs and chicken to-go. We like the spice and flavour of baby back ribs and chicken. Passion fruit mousse is good too.
I ordered take out and the food is amazing. The Tbone and Stuffed shrimp was excellent! I would have given them 5 stars but when I got back to my room there weren't any utensils in the bag.
