First time here, and I ordered their pork and chive dumplings. The dumplings are cooked to the perfect 1-sided crunch. The chili oil wasn't super spicy, just the perfect amount. All the garnishes were fresh and complemented the dumplings well. The place dine-in area was basic, but there were seats. And the staff was pretty friendly. Went for lunch and only waited 5 minutes for my order, which is perfect for NY. Overall, it is definitely recommended!

I've been singing my praise about Yumpling with everyone after my visit. It's a casual Taiwanese grab-and-go spot with spacious and clean dine-in area. All the food I tried are straight up 10/10. Unlike other fancy fusionized spots, they take your taste buds to Taiwan with the authentic recipe and friendly service. They played Jay Zhou's music in store which brought the nostalgic millennial vibes lol * Pork & Chive Dumplings Literally love at first bite. They named the restaurant "Yumpling" for a good reason--legit these signature dumplings are YUM. A regular serving (8pcs) can fill you up easily as each is generously stuffed with meat and chive. The bottom had the perfect golden hue and crispiness. My tongue tingled with the salt of the soy sauce and the pungency of mala chili oil. * Fried Pork Chop Bian Dang w/ Garlicky Cucumbers This bento was brimmed with hearty portion of pork chop. The crispy skin was very delectable, coated by toasted sesame, pepper and five-spice powder. What surprised me the most was the braised pork and pickled mustard greens spreading over rice. It gave a wealth of savory and sour flavors that made my taste bud sing. * Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken Very well seasoned with fried basil. I was skeptical about dipping popcorn chicken in sauce, but basil aioli here seriously took it up a level. * Beef Noodle Soup This soup got its richness from meltingly tender braised beef shanks, while the noodles were cooked to perfection and absorbed the essence of the soy sauce based broth. * Fried Chicken Sandwich Once again, this American fusionized burger exceeded my expectation. The size of the chicken cutlet was HUGE! It was nestled between the buttery brioche bun and fresh basil leaves. A thick layer of my fav basil aioli was spread on the inside of the bun. * Taiwan Beer, Apple Cider Enjoying Taiwanese food with Taiwan Beer is the best feeling ever. I'm a sucker for Taiwan fruit beer and glad to see they sell many flavors (grape, lychee, mango) here. Pineapple is actually my favourite but it was currently out of stock.

I was a big fan of Yumpling’s food truck and finally …I got to visit this place that marks their milestone! It’s not a fancy restaurant but I like the vibe. Food-wise, as always, love the fried pork chop rice bowl. My only complaint is that the rice today is a bit too hard…I also ordered Taiwanese root beer, which is less sugary than the American ones and have no added hint of vanilla. Personally I like the less sugary version. The restroom is clean and nice.

The flavors are on point. The stars dishes are the pork chop, fried chicken and lo rou fan bowls. My only gripe is they don’t give you a ton of food, I need to get 2 entrees to get full (might be how they keep costs lower). The dumplings aren’t great, just good. The shaved ice is OK too , it’s a little watery. They were out of the Taiwanese classic flavor when I visited. Service is excellent the cashiers are super nice. Seating gets filled up quickly when it’s busy. They do have bathrooms. Overall if you’re looking for tasty Taiwanese food, ok with overpaying (a little) and smaller portion size check it out!

When I tell you everything I ordered was beyond amazing, I mean it. The taro bubble tea was some of the best I've ever had, the chicken sandwich was so juicy and crispy, it was utter perfection. I ordered it with the shoestring fries and I kept saying these gotta be the best fries I ever had in my life no joke. Also the beef in the noodle soup was so flavorful and soft it was so addicting. We also got veggie yumplings which were also delicious. I cannot wait to return, also the wallpaper in the bathroom is super dope, definitely try them out.

Stepping into Yumpling is like embarking on a delectable journey of flavors. Their fried chicken is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Each bite is a harmonious blend of seasonings that tantalize the taste buds, leaving you yearning for more. The chicken is cooked to perfection, boasting a juicy, moist, and soft texture that melds wonderfully with the crisp exterior. Their chicken sandwich is a must-try! The tender chicken encased in a soft, fresh bun makes for a sublime duo, while the accompanying sauces add a zest that elevates the experience to a whole new level. It's a meld of textures and flavors that dances gracefully on the palate. And oh, the fries! Perfectly crispy, golden, and lightly salted, they are the quintessential companion to the chicken sandwich. Every bite is a reminder of the culinary expertise that goes into creating such simple yet profoundly satisfying dishes. Yumpling is not just a restaurant; it's a haven for food enthusiasts. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I can't recommend Yumpling enough, especially for those with an affinity for impeccably cooked chicken dishes. It's a place where every meal is a celebration of taste and tradition.

Overall food taste good, but those might not freshly made from scratch in the shop, instead it was premade. So the saltiness and oil content could not be altered. It is good for a quick meal, but lack of the authenticity and customization.

The place is best for takeout but they have a few tables and we didn't have a problem getting a seat around lunchtime. The fried chicken was incredible, juicy, crispy, and the sauce was pretty good. The sauce with the pork and chives dumplings was a bit too salty and the dumplings were average.

Overall pretty good. Fried chicken sandwich was juicy and well seasoned. You get a big piece of chicken. Pork bowl was also super tasty. Everything was a little aggressively spicy in a good way. Nitpick is I could taste the oil it was fried in so maybe the oil could have been fresher? Dumplings were good too but skins were thicker than I like. I enjoyed my meal and would come back

Rarely order takeout but we needed to try this place out with all the great reviews. One of the more flavorful dumplings that I’ve ever had! Everything was delicious and the sides were great. Would definitely order from here again. If you’re in the area or looking for something to order, try this place out!

The food was very good! The dumplings was actually filled to max capacity unlike some other places that sell dumplings. The curly fries (although came with no dipping sauce) were crispy and great. I am definitely coming back to try the chicken and the soup. The host was great and very kind to us. The only problem with this place is the lack of seating. Great place. Will definitely go back

Friends brought us here for lunch and it did not disappoint. I wish I had a second stomach. Everything was so good, I wanted to eat more. Each dish was fresh, the meat juicy and the breading crisp. And we asked for the chicken sandwich to be spicy and it had such a good kick to it. Definitely recommend and will be back

For a quick Taiwanese bite, this is the spot! Minimal frills, self bussing tables, this spot reminds me of Taiwan. Definitely feel the food is very authentic and captures the essense of Taiwanese cooking very well. The lunch boxes are the way to go. The chicken and pork were fried to a crispy with out making you feel it was too oily. And the shaved ice is a classic that wasn’t too sweet to end the meal.

Love the name of the establishment! I decided to try the fried chicken sandwich and was so glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised at how juicy the chicken was. Loved the sauce that was on the chicken too...super tasty. I also got a side of shoestring fries and ordered a passion fruit bubble tea. The menu allows for customization of their specialty drinks, including choosing the topping, type of tea...and the sweetness level. I told the cashier that it was my first time there, and he answered my questions and was super friendly. I plan on visiting again soon and trying the dumplings next time. I recommend Yumpling. Oh, the establishment also has a restroom available for use.

TLDR: Get the fried chicken sandwich. You’ll thank me later. If you like fried chicken sandwiches, then absolutely must try the one they serve here. It’s insanely delicious. First off, the piece of chicken in the sandwich is HUGE and very soft, juicy, and tender inside (not dried out like a lot of other places) which makes a big difference. It’s served on a potato roll and topped with basil leaves, scallions, and a Basil Aioli. 😋 To balance it all out I got a side dish of the garlicky cucumbers which were fresh, crunchy, and again: delicious. The staff are very friendly. There was initially a little mixup in the order, but I was given a few options on how to proceed and it was quickly rectified. They even offered extra food on top of my order in addition to a full refund (wow for service 👍🏻), which I declined simply because of their overly gracious attitude and the fact the I love supporting small businesses in my neighborhood. There are a few tables inside the restaurant to eat in, but I just popped in with my dog to pick up my order for take out. But I may try dining in at some point. It closes on the early side though (usually around 8pm), just wish it was open until later in the evening. Overall, I highly recommend trying out this Taiwanese restaurant. The fried chicken sandwich was incredible and they have a lot of other dishes that look great and I want to try so I’ll definitely be coming back.

Walking past & saw this place and the high reviews on the signage and figured I’d give it a try. I was disappointed to find out a dumpling restaurant didn’t have veggie dumplings. And when asking when they’d return that it would be awhile due to supply chain issues. I didn’t ask but I assumed they made their dumplings in house and if it’s stuck in a boat like she mentioned… are they frozen? I don’t know and have mixed feelings about that (not that frozen food can’t be delicious). But anyway, wasn’t interested in the pork ones on my visit. Decided I’d try some other stuff on the menu and it didn’t taste bad but I wasn’t impressed with my dish. My partner enjoyed theirs but also didn’t feel like for the price the flavors were stellar. But that being said, it didn’t taste flavorless and careless; they’re using some quality ingredients but seasoning on the subtle side which I def needed more. I’d really give this place food wise 4 stars BUT here’s where great customer service really lifts up a restaurant. My cashier was pleasant , friendly, and knowledgeable. Our interaction was so pleasant that’s why I even continued to order and she got me to make a sale regardless of not having what I wanted to try and I remember that all being so pleasant. In a city of often indifference, having great customer service really stands out and makes me want to go back, write good recommendations and endorse the restaurant. I’m definitely going to give them another shot food wise and try a sauce they make or just bring what I need in my bag with me (like I was saying it’s tasty, but subtle to me, and I like it a bit bolder!) the slow braised beef was certainly that, and was so tender. Rice was good. The cucumbers needed work to me a lot cause it felt really just like raw unseasoned cucumbers to me. Cold Noodle dish my partner liked but wanted more sesame oil and flavor but wasn’t like “I can’t/don’t want to eat this”. All in all I think it’s worth checking out and you’ll be the final judge. You won’t regret spending your money here, you just might want some sauce or salt on the side. Check them out! 🥟 😎

The Taiwanese restaurant in Long Island City! I ordered Zha Jiang Mian ($14.26), Crispy Chicken Bian Dang (brown rice) ($15.85), Lu Rou Fan ($9.51), Yumpling ($11.94) and Mango Mania shaved ice ($10). Everything tastes so delicious. I especially liked the Zha Jiang Mian and Mango shaved ice. I’m so glad I found this place.

Another Taiwanese restaurant offering some of the most popular dishes in LIC! I tried the dumplings and I think it was okay. Flavor didn't pop for me. The beef noodle soup on the other hand is much better. I like that the beef is very tender, THICK cut, and given many pieces. Often other restaurants slice them very thin and offer only a few pieces but Yumpling went the right route, making this dish the way it's supposed to be offered.
