Food is awesome but the restaurant is pretty dirty.
Best subs near grand strand. This is a little hole in the wall place, with very little seating and even less parking. However, it is totally worth that minor inconvenience. These are the best New York style subs you will find near the Grand Strand. We used to drive 40 minutes to come here for lunch sometimes. The owner still remembers my name even though I can only make it once or twice a year when I visit my parents. Fresh bread, fresh sliced meat and veggies. Great subs and a great price too. They have breakfast also, which I have not tried. My only complaint is that they are closed on Sunday :-)

This location has that old time neighborly setting, with people rolling in all day for breakfast and lunch with a smile. The kitchen help is very efficient and knows what they're doing, the people are friendly, and the food is great. There's an array of stuff to choose from on their menu, and you won't walk out dissatisfied. It is an older location in the heart of Loris that has a well established presence with the community for over 20 years. Check it out, because I know we will. Yummy
As always the subs are on point!! Not only the subs on point but the staff is too. You never have to repeat your order and somehow they always get it perfect! If you want great and HUGE subs go visit American Hero Subs & Bagels. Oh if you a northerner, then I will just say that it's just like your back home again. Heaven in every bite!
American Hero in Loris, SC is a great hometown restaurant serving salads, hoagies, hero’s, & Philly’s. Fresh cut meat and homemade bread make this a nice option! Fast and personal service that make your sandwich to order.
I found the Hero to be a wonderful sandwich. Large portions and side items round out the large menu.

Hands down the BEST breakfast croissant anywhere and the best subs. Fixed to order piping hot. Employees are friendly, they don't rush you and it's always clean!!! I wish there was one in Nichols or Mullins. It's worth the 20 mile drive one way but we'd be there more often if one was closer!
American Hero, is a Loris STAPLE!
Subs, salads, gyros, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Prices are reasonable and portions are a fat girl's dream (well, my inner fat girl anyway). A regular sub fills you up and a giant can feed a family of 3 (if one of the three is under 6 and someone is a light eater), or serve as lunch and dinner.
Wait times vary, but it's always worth it. There is a drive thru, however it is only for pick up. Which I advise anyone with a patience issue to do. You're not going to pull up and order...this ain't subway (and that's a good thing).
The owner is friendly and so is the staff. I dont sit and eat (I like to go home and be greedy in private) but space is provided.
