Recently, I decided to try a new breakfast place and enjoy a good meal in the morning. I was amazed by the quality and flavor of the dishes the restaurant offered, however, my experience was marred by the terrible customer service I received. Let's start with the positive, the variety of breakfast options was impressive. Each dish was a delicious culinary gem. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impeccable. Being a breakfast lover, I was pleased to be able to enjoy such a tasty and satisfying meal. However, customer service left a lot to be desired. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I noticed a lack of attention and professionalism from the staff. They were slow to greet me, and when they finally served me, it seemed like they were more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. It seemed disrespectful to those of us who had chosen their establishment to enjoy a good meal.

Dining here is truly a treat for the senses. The food is absolutely exceptional, with all the sweets striking the perfect balance—not too sweet. I dislike desserts that overpower with sweetness, as I prefer to savor a range of flavors. The fig tart and bread were nothing short of perfect, delivering a delicious experience that brightened up the world. The flatbread and baguette are also noteworthy, and the coffee complements everything flawlessly. My friend and I had a wonderful time soaking in the delightful vibes. One thing to note is the wait, which can be pretty long, but it's worth every minute of anticipation!

Been wanting to visit here for a while. We went for brunch at around 10am and it easily found a seat outdoor. We ordered the salted mocha and matcha for drinks. Salted mocha was very rich, salty and velvety. Matcha was ok. Food wise, we ordered the shakshouka, salmon roe bagel, and the fish and egg plate. All were great, and I loved the fact that the fish were smoked at the shop. I personally enjoyed the salmon roe bagel, but would recommend getting it with smoked salmon on the side as I thought it tasted better with it. The croissants looked delicious as well. They also had free samples of their freshly baked cookies, which were delicious. However, all their menu items are quite pricey.

Who would have known that behind this simple gray door there would be a delightful, full-service bakery. In fact, Gjusta is more than a bakery. Yes, there is fresh bread and pastries. And, there's more. Deli options. Breakfast menu. Espresso bar. And, to top it off, there's a private patio. We placed our order and found a fantastic patio table. Our order was promptly brought to our table. From then on we thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. It's hard to say whether our meal or the environment was best. Combined, everything was fantastic. While Gjusta may not be a secret, to those who have had the experience, it is more than a bakery. It is worth a try.

Honestly a great experience. Went on a week day, heard it gets busy on the weekend and I can see why. Across the street from world famous Venice golds gym and a block away from the beach. This is a great spot to start your day!

Food is tasty but menu isn’t up to date. Pastries availability vary and the earlier, the better. Nice terrasse with rustic seating options. Delicious coffee. In all, good experience but little to no service.

Gjusta is the embodiment of California and Santa Monica living. With tons of options in trms of food, Gjusta is the one stop shop for a great meal, and great vibes. We went here after the beach and it was just the perfect pairing. Make sure you get there early though because they get busy and sell out fast.

The food here was great and the service overall was fantastic. We got the prepackaged cookies as well and also tried several sandwiches. Everything was amazing. However, I am giving these guys four stars and might have done even less for the travesty of organization that encompasses this ordering process. This place runs on a classic ticket system, being from NYC I have no problem with this system and it gave me slight joyful nostalgia to grab a ticket and watch the numbers climb. However, upon arrival there was a long line and as a tourist I had zero idea the place operates on a ticket system. The tickets were about 20 feet past the start of the line and no one near me in the line knew we had to grab tickets or that the line was pretty much imaginary since they didn’t serve based off the line. The signage explaining the ticketing system was made with pin on white letters that were so small most people with sight issues would completely miss it and everyone else would gloss over that text due it’s size and think it’s not important. Although I dislike a lack of organization and signage, this wasn’t where things went bad. About halfway through waiting in the line, a staff members steps out from the express section and starts handing people tickets. It appears that they now want to embrace the ticketing system. The issue arose after the staff member gave out the tickets and the person who was first had number 70 but the person that was last had number 30 and the guy who set the number machine that determines whose next in lien started at 30! Immediately chaos erupted as the last guest to enter ordered before the first guest, whom was waiting an hour at this time. The first guest argued with the man taking the last guests ordered and the employee chose to validate the decision rather then empathize with the customer. It was messy, rude and felt slightly crazy. I truly felt bad for everyone walking in waiting behind people, all of whom had no idea the line meant nothing and they should snake through and grab a ticket. A place like this is meant for locals who know the system. For the tourists, it is a chaotic and unwelcoming scene when the restaurant is busy. Also the welcome sign detailing the ticket system, said the employees don’t consent to photos, which felt aggressive but ok. They don’t want to be on social media I guess? When we ordered a drink from express, we were not informed where to pick it up and had to discover ourselves that we had to fight the waiters grabbing coffee to get our to go drink. This place rang chaos and local only vibes. My favorite quote was on the way out I asked a few people waiting in line: Me: “are you waiting in line” Guest: “honestly I don’t know” Disorganization reins supreme at Gjusta.

Since I moved to Venice Ive been coming to Gjusta from time to time and really really enjoying the vibes, and it gives me a slightly European feeling that I love. Amazing patio, food selection. Among things to keep in mind though, is a huuuuge line on weekends so ordering takes a while. And something that I would love to have improved is matcha (since I’m a big lover of it), which is not mixed properly so all the powder stays on the bottom. Doesn’t give the right feeling. But overall, love this place!

Super cool, trendy cafe. We came from Vancouver and noticed that this place is very popular with fellow tourists and locals alike. Huge line even at off times, but they have a cool system where you take a number and wait if you have a larger order, or join the express line for drinks and small eats. Very nice patio outside as well, I feel it does a great job of fitting into the surrounding industrial area while expressing some flair and refinement. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

Went there on 7:20 am on a Saturday. Found it on Google and wasn't aware of the hype. I really enjoyed the food, the staff and the location. It is absolutely worth a visit but beware: It is expensive for a cafe. Maybe normal expensive for LA but an egg sandwich sets you back 13 dollars, small portion of granola 15 dollars. But they live up to the hype. Definitely recommend.

Always a great experience, never ordered anything I didn't like. The staff are incredibly helpful! Plenty of seating out on the patio, unless you go at peak times

Gjusta is a bakery near Venice Beach that's always packed and for good reason. They make all their bread and pastries in house and fresh on a daily basis too. Parking outside can be tough, and getting a table can sometimes be impossible so your best bet is usually to get it to go at the express register. Their chocolate croissants are delicious, and you can't go wrong with the pastrami sandwich or the Italian sandwich. Service here is great too, so friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit high but the quality is fantastic and portion sizes aren't too bad either. Would highly recommend coming here during the week to grab something to eat and sit out in the patio area.

Exceptional. Street parking, dismal looking facade, no table service, very little inside seating, how/where to order a bit confusing, but take heart. The food is very good, plenty of outside dining with or without shade, heaters if you need them , nice casual landscaping & lighting, efficient service, and the food is very good. I had a turkey sandwich, excellent, also tried the huevos rancheros, perhaps not traditional enough for some, but quite good.

Great place for brunch. The food is amazing and not heavy. They have a cool outdoor patio with shade to enjoy. You can bring your laptop and work. The atmosphere feels like you are eating in someone backyard. Only the parking sucks.
