They just keep getting better!
I've eaten here before - and reviewed it - but this meal was my favorite. A few friends and I were hungry and each of us found something wonderful on their menu. I had small tacos with generous helpings of salad (coleslaw?) and chicken on top - plus a tiny little frying pan that contained brown rice and black beans. I added these to my tacos and was able to make 4 little ones with the tortillas provided. Absolutely delicious. The service was top quality too - she kept an eye on us and refilled our waters frequently. I also appreciated having the option of 6 or 9 oz in my wine pour - a nice touch.
Fun
This was a fun and delicious stop for us. We do not live close so this was a happenstance find that we really enjoyed. Try some of their special, they are great.
I've been to Truxton's before and I can say I'm a fan of the things I've tasted.
My first visit consisted of a Louisiana blackened shrimp pizza and some monkey bread. This visit I found out that the pizza was seasonal. This was no problem as all I wanted was the monkey bread. This is some good stuff. Unlike the traditional sweet monkey bread, this is baked with garlic and cheddar.
This bread is a must for anyone visiting. My four star rating goes from both visits as a whole. I also tasted a small bit of my friends Mac n cheese that was awesome. So much bacon flavor!!! Combine this with the monkey bread and your meal is set.
Visit Date 11/15/2015 and 7/12/2013
Went to Truxton's right after I landed at LAX. Everything was perfect! 💜 The service was quick, my mint julep was made perfectly, and there was so much food I still have leftovers!
They’ve got two locations with this one in Westchester having been around for ten years. They tout themselves as an American bistro that reinvents/reinterprets classics and that’s pretty much what you’ll find on their menu. Plenty of familiar small plates, burgers, salads, and entrees take on ethnic twists to form a menu with a little bit of everything.
Having my sister over, even if only for two full days, for the three-day weekend was such a treat. I can’t believe it’s been more than a month since we were both exploring Seattle with our friend, but I think it’s never too soon to hang out with family!. Lenny & Larry’s Snickerdoodle – my favorite!
We always eat there because it is so conveniently located near LAX. I highly recommend the dessert, particularly the Mexican carnival sundae.
Excellent service, good prices, decent food. Went there for breakfast on a Sunday. The interior was very pleasant all around. The staff was extremely friendly. From the person who seated me, to the waitstaff, all couldn't have been more helpful, friendly, and great at perfectly anticipating my needs without being intrusive at all. I had an omelette. It was really good. The potatoes with it were seasoned great but were hard. Either overcooked or reheated or old. Its too bad, because if the potatoes had been fresher or cooked better, I think they would have been excellent. Overall, it was one of my more positive recent restaurant experiences and I would definitely go again.
Great Food and Service. Food was great as well as the service. Had the avacado club sandwich with sweet potato fries. Jessica and Jen were very helpful, again great service!
Found this restaurant on UrbanSpoon. Unusual location. Gorgeous dining room. Attractive and attentive servers. Extraordinary and unusual selection of dishes, all reasonably priced. Very generous portions. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Fine Bistro. Had a great meal........Definatelly will go back when in LA
The food was great & they have a terrific healthy menu!
Very good took the family and we all had good meals. I had the brisket burrito, very good. Wife had the fish and chips, fish is cooked fresh not from frozen. And my daughter had shrimp linguini. Very good. Service was excelent.
GREAT food, danielle is one cool cat during the week
Comfort foods!. Dropped into truxton's with my buddy to catch up over a meal and to see how engaged life was treating her. how did we choose truxton's? well,
1. we have never been; and
2. i received a bday email fro them offering up a free entree AND dessert
seriously, how can anyone turn that deal down?
i called in the afternoon to make a ressie, however, i was notified that they do not accept ressies after 8pm. the guy was nice enough to write my name down so that i would be at the head of the line when we arrived.
sure, enough, 8pm rolls around and we arrive right on time. there were at least 10 parties waiting to be seated and when i checked in, we were immediately ushered to a table. NICE!!
our waitress introduced herself and took our drink orders and allowed us plenty of time to peruse the menu.
food
fritto misto: we started off with a bang. how can you go wrong with fried foods? haha. the batter was very light and their fritto misto consisted of calamari and artichokes. the calamari was very tender and the artichoke were a bit tangy. this sure whet my appetite.
brisket: since everyone and their mom on yelp talked about the brisket, i had to try it. the portions here are no joke. there was at least eight big strips of brisket, a hearty side of (s)mashed red potatoes and a big cup of their home made slaw. the brisket was decent. a bit dry which they tried to disguise with their sweeeeeeet bbq sauce. the (s)mashed potatoes were quite good, then again, it is quite hard to mess up mashed taters. i am not a fan of slaw, but their version was darn good. it was a tangy concoction that was not creamy. this really helped cleanse the palate.
gaucho steak: my friend ordered this as she is the meat and potatoes type of gal. they cooked it spot on med rare which made for an extremely juicy steak. this dish came with the choice of a side as well. good stuff.
since we were piggies, we each ordered up a dessert.
bistro cookie for two: i ordered up this is a homemade cookie baked in it's own skillet and topped with ice cream. ohh soo good. the cookie is baked fresh and is served super hot and oh so moist. i hate crispy cookies so this seriously made my day.
mexican carnival sundae: my friend ordered this up. it is a sundae of vanilla ice cream topped with caramel and....get this....caramel filled churros! OMFG!! this was divine and i had to control myself so that i did not pull a jack move on my friend and gank her dessert. lols.
service was very attentive all evening without being overbearing. good food, good service and a cool vibe. i'll be back to try out their burger sometime in the future.
truxton's reminds me of a small town, americana style restaurant serving up hearty portions of comfort foods.
This place is a total gem! OMG, the Kobe Sliders are out of this world, try the "not so Philly cheesesteak"
Our brunch experience at Truxton American Bistro in LA was nothing short of fantastic. We owe our visit to a local recommendation, and we couldn't be happier that we followed it.
From the moment we sat down, it was evident that this place knew how to do brunch right. Every dish we ordered, from the classic eggs Benedict to the hearty breakfast burrito and the satisfying egg and bacon sandwich, was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.
My personal favorite was the chicken and waffle, a delightful play on contrasts with its crunchy and soft textures, and the perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors. It truly hit all the right notes.
If you're on the hunt for a brunch spot in LA that delivers on taste and variety, look no further than Truxton American Bistro. With dishes like these, it's a brunch experience you won't want to miss. Highly recommended!
I used their room for after a funeral in February but I have been back 4 times since Feb. Such nice people and great food. Today I tried breakfast burrito. If you’re going to airport get takeout
There is a reason why restaurants linger around and Truxton's is not an exception. This restaurant consistently provides great food, amicable service, and great ambiance.
To start I ordered the Mango Margarita, refreshing.
For appetizer, the Monkey Bread is a must!, Freshly baked bread guarantees to lick your fingers.
I selected the Chilli Basil Salmon with potato puree for my main course, I rarely order salmon, but this time i did not regret it; fresh, cooked to perfection, well balanced flavors! Great choice.
For dessert, the freshly baked Chocolate Chip cookie was yummy; a great ending to a great meal.
I have patronized this restaurant few times in the past and I will continue to patronize Truxton's.

Totally cool! Our Annual Thanks"Friend" Givings, get together was great. Perfect place to celebrate! We got a little tipsy, no problem, the wait staff attitude was relaxed and a full service bar! Oh! The Turkey Dinner served was great....
Great service! Food was pretty good & space is nice. Restaurant was clean & we were seated pretty quickly.
Street parking lot front avail.
The desert was pretty good!
(Bathrooms were clean as well!)
Very lowkey restaurant during the week, no wait, good service and great quality food with great portions. The drinks were outstanding as well. Highly recommend for a more casual dinning experience and if you want an atmosphere that is on the quieter side.
I went for Mother's Day with my 2 kids. The food and service was amazing. They have some of the BEST appetizers as well. Monkey bread, Tempura cauliflower, and the Teriyaki chicken skewers were finaminal. You MUST try them.
I was extremely pleased with the service food and atmosphere. Cool place to come eat whenever.i had the breakfast al pastor burrito and it was five stars.
Will be returning with my family in the near future.
See reciept for plate cost.
Service was great! I got the brunch burrito and it was good. I would probably get other items next time. The potatoes were delish, highly recommend if you are looking for breakfast/brunch
I love that you are close to the airport 😍
I had a friend from Detroit going to the funeral for Mr and Mrs Clarence Avant in Beverly Hills. Truxton's has the Best Food always leave with a smile.

Excellent service. The bartender was great. The tuna melt and fries were great. The sweet potato fries and grilled veggies were amazing but the ribs were dry.
Great food and service at decent price. Shevean, the manager was able to accommodate my big party in two days after I discovered I erroneously made the reservation at their Torrance restaurant while I needed the one by the airport. The staff who served our tables were extremely accommodating the entire time. They never missed the beat. They kept asking if we needed anything. We had a big group of 20+ people and the space did not seem sounded at all. Truxton's is not only a great place for good food, for corporate events-luncheons or a big family gathering. It is indeed one of the best-kept secrets in the city.
I have enjoyed everything at Truxton's! I brought family members here for the first time.
The dishes were all tasty. The staff is great. Wonderful parking. I just love the drink called French Lavender 75!!
This is a great place when you gave a group with a range of tastes. The menu is deep with wide range of choices. We enjoyed all we tried. But who serves a martini without the olives?
Been here a few times and always have an amazing experience and the food and drinks as amazing!
I ordered the smaller size French Onion Soup and a pasta dish. Both were excellent but the onion soup was very cheesy and delicious. Can't go wrong having a meal at this place!! You do need reservations but worth it!! And very friendly waiters.
There is a wide variety of food but we were so hungry I didn’t take any pictures until the warm cookie with ice cream and chocolate sauce at the end. Monkey bread with dipping sauces is tradition. The honey glazed shrimp with coleslaw is great. The coleslaw is a yummy surprise. The Chinese chicken salad and sweet potato fries have been family favorites for years. The buffalo cauliflower was good and spicy. Something for everyone anytime!
This restaurant was outstanding. I really enjoyed the mushroom and swiss burger, though it was just a touch on the dry side. The fries were cooked thin and crispy just like I like them. I also had an old-fashioned with my meal. The bartender was friendly and helpful when ordering. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone near LAX looking for a solid lunch or dinner.
Stopped for dinner before a red eye - great find! I was impressed with the level of service and attentiveness by the staff. All food & drink orders came rather quickly and the food was very tasty. Pricing was fair for being so close to the airport.
Will definitely return when back in LA.
