A hidden gem in the Original Farmers Market. Purveyors of some of the best imports and beautiful private labeled products. Stephane is the mad genius behind the brand, and couldn't have been a better ambassador to the French food scene. Los Angeles loves and thanks you.

Favorite place in the Market. If you go to The Grove make sure to walk over and have a drink and something to eat at Marcel. Check out their store too. If you like to cook you'll love this place. They have fair prices including some good specials during the week. Truly one of my favorite places in LA (I am local and visit here all the time). Great service too - waitstaff is always on point.

I'm out in LA every couple of months and I *always* make a point of coming to Monsieur Marcel for special gifts to take home to my loved ones: edible flowers, cookbooks, special risottos, vinegars and oils, beautiful items for the kitchen; they're all here. It's such a wonderful, cozy store that you shouldn't miss.

Food for all age groups. Perfect for a friends and family brunch; or, a quick bite to appease your pallet; or, maybe a quick dessert and cup of coffee. Monsieur Marcel Gourmet is located in this most exquisite outdoor market (farmers market) somewhere "cleverly hidden" in or near Hollywood, California.

I have had lunch at Monsieur Marcel at the Grove Farmer's Market three times, and it was excellent every time. Everything I have ordered, and everything my friends and family members have ordered, has been delicious. I am looking forward to returning for a fourth time.

A charming French bistro located inside the farmer's market. I've been drawn to its blend of classic and casual ambiance. The seafood was exceptionally fresh, and the other dishes did not disappoint. Above all, savoring authentic French cuisine within a farmer's market setting is genuinely distinctive.

I had the French onion soup to start. It was delicious, full of cheese, and just the right amount of bread, I would have liked a tad more salt, but all in all, it was excellent. The steak au poivre was excellent! I asked for medium, so it was a tad undercooked for me, but it was super tender, and the sauce was very tasty. The fries were very thin and crispy, I loved it all.

We had the French onion soup and filet mignon with au gratin potatoes. The French onion soup was amazing! I would go back just for that, but the bread served table side was fresh and still warm. The filet was perfectly done. Somehow though the highlight was the cheesy au gratin potatoes. They were absolutely incredible!

It's not bad but I expected more given the price. The escargo was perfect 🐌, the butter/herb was well done The fondue was ok, I expected more flavor. They combine 4-5 different cheeses, it came out with a light flavor, I prefer when the 🧀 🫕 is stronger. The wine was pretty good as well. Anyways, it's not too simple to find a very good fondue place in 🇺🇲

The Monsieur Marcel Gourmet Market is a must visit for us each visit to LA as we walk around the Farmers Market. Love the candies, the unique cooking items, the gourmet food and of course the delicious sandwiches. Everyone who works there is always very helpful and there’s nothing like grabbing a sandwich and eating it outside amongst the hustle bustle of the market.

It had been well over a decade since my last visit to Monsieur Marcel. During a trip to the Petersen Automotive Museum with a friend from Düsseldorf, he mentioned a quick stroll to The Original Farmers Market. I shared that I used to be a frequent visitor and had a liking for a little French bistro in the market, but cautioned him that it had been quite a while since I last set foot at Monsieur Marcel. Given his strong affinity for French culture and cuisine as a Francophile, I couldn't help but feel a bit hesitant, especially considering his impeccable recommendations for hidden gems in Paris that I had come to adore. Our culinary journey at Monsieur Marcel began with the classic Soupe à l'Oignon Gratinee, featuring a rich layer of gooey Gruyère. As a European, my friend requested more bread and relished in savoring the melted cheese on a fresh baguette. Opting for the Boeuf Bourguignon, he expressed satisfaction, while I reminisced about my younger years in New York and chose the Steak Frites, reminiscent of a French bistro across the street from my former office. His enjoyment of both his selection and my positive memories of the onion soup and the flavorful steak with its accompanying au poivre affirmed Monsieur Marcel's status as a good, laid-back French bistro in the heart of LA. Despite a slight critique of the cut of meat, I find myself quite happy to rediscover this gem and plan to make it a point to frequent it more often, especially when the craving for simple French cuisine strikes.

Nice little European market shop with a cheese selection you can’t believe from aged hard cheeses to creamy delectable bries and Camemberts. Pastries too. Solid selection of teas, spirits, and wine.

Been coming here for decades and have lived next door for the last 7 years. The staple items such as the beef bourguignon and escargot are flawless, as are their frequent specials like the whole branzino and the calamari Provencal. Two of my favorites. The seafood tier is always fresh and delicious. As is their selection of cheeses - as an appetizer, fondue or dessert. An anchor tennant of The Farmers Market, this place brings the authenticity of Paris to LA in a sexy little alfresco sit down Farmers Market package. The gourmet market is always fun as well, for staple items, the divine cheese counter, unique delicacies and liquors, and of course, the amazing to order sandwiches and home made deserts, including an intense selection of French macaroons.

My fav in LA when we have cravings for French gourmet food. There are a shop and a restaurant under the same brand. It could get busy over the weekend. Our fav dish is escargots, the garlic butter sauce is sooo yummilicous that we use the bread to dip in and finish the whole basket. I tried the pasta with black truffle, it was a bit too rich for my taste. The vegan option was light and delicious too. Their baguette choices are all amazing. The service is wonderful and their staff is friendly.
