One of the top reasons I can't really move out of LA! It now takes me over an hour to drive there (with no traffic) and I still manage to get there at least once a month!

Biting into a hickory burger with swiss cheese will never get old. I’ve been coming to Apple Pan longer than I care to admit and it’s one of the few places in LA that got better over the years. You can finally pay with a credit card and enjoy the newish take out window and patio in the back. Tuna melt and egg salad are menu sleepers. Pies, all the pies!

Est. 1947 Layout/atmosphere *U-shaped counter with 20+ stools around the center grill (first come, first serve); backyard area with picnic tables; servers in buttoned down white shirts Service *Quick Food/drink *Hickory Burger (house sauce, mayonnaise, pickles, lettuce) with Tillamook cheddar cheese - good; smokiness from the sauce; overloaded with iceberg lettuce *French fries - Good; crispy *Pecan pie - Good; fresh pecans

I've been going to this place since the 50s. Now I live 100 miles away, so it's been decades since I've been there. Was visiting a relative in a nearby town, so I made it a point to drive over to grab a "Hickory Burger" to see if they were still as great as I remembered. Wasn't disappointed! Apple Pan is still amazing! Sadly, their prices have gone way up, but still worth it!

The Apple Pan was very well-prepared to hand us our pie orders for Thanksgiving when we picked them up the day before and we did not have to wait terribly long to sit down. The food never disappoints and my wife and I wish that this could expand elsewhere including Las Vegas, where we live. Many thank-yous to the staff and keep doing what you all do best!

So tasty. Hickory Burger and fries for me, other friends ordered and loved Tuna Salad, and Egg Salad sandwiches. They now also have a very nice back patio, where you can sit and eat. Still love this place!

I opted for a double patty hickory burger made with Impossible patties with no mayo and their house sauce on the side. I wasn't going to get fries but when I spied other people's portions I couldn't help myself! I ate everything before I remembered that I'd forgotten to snap pics of my food. But check out the generous portion of ketchup they provide in anticipation of the super delicious fries!

I’ve had pies from The Apple Pan before, but just ate at the restaurant itself for the very first time and I absolutely loved it. The indoor seating is iconic as you sit around a U-shaped bar on swivelling chairs. My friend and I both tried both burgers, but prefered the hickory burger. The barbeque sauce on it was fantastic. The fries are the least exciting part of the meal but if you season them with some salt they get better. I definitely recommend the apple pie and banana cream pie, though their ice cream was not great and could’ve been more flavourful with better texture.

Go on a wonderful jaunt back in time here at the Apple Pan where they’ve been doing their thing the same way since the 1940’s. Overall this experience was really enjoyable and I would recommend the burger to anyone, however I personally am not a huge fan of the sweet relish that comes with their classic burger. They also have a hickory burger with a bbq like sauce if you’re a fan of those flavors instead.

I have been wanting to come here for YEARS. Each time I'm in Los Angeles, I try and visit, but for one reason or another, it just never happened until now. Obviously they're known for their burgers, and being the burger lover that I am, I had to give it a go. Now you can sit back inside if you want, but on such a nice day, we opted to sit outside. To sit and eat outside, you go to the side window first, place your order and pay, and then you're given a number. In about 10 minutes, your food is ready, and they bring it outside and call your number and you collect it from the cart. It's quite and lovely out the back, and a perfect spot for eating lunch. The burger was fantastic. I just ordered the most basic cheeseburger with a hickory sauce and it was great. It's up there for sure with one of the better burgers I've had. It was fresh and hot and perfect in every way. My sister ordered their fries and she was happy with those. Pricing is good. It's reasonable for what you get. The one "awful" aspect of eating here is the parking (what's new in LA?). We eventually got some, but it took a while. With that said, I'd visit again and if I have to drive around the block four times, it's well worth it. I'd love to come back again and try more items from their menu.

Love these vintage establishments! On a chilly Saturday late-afternoon, the inside counter was pretty full, so we enjoyed our Apple Pie, Pecan Pie, and French Fries outside at a picnic table (with a portable heater). Note: Parking can be challenging because Glendon is for permitted residents only, but we lucked out and found a meter around the block on Malcolm near Pico.

Getting back to basics, the burger here is just that a burger. But it is unbelievably great! This is the same menu since 1947, definitely recommend this spot!
