Great music, fantastic service and the food was absolutely delicious. The hostess was friendly, and seated our group of six promptly. Our waiter, Zach (not sure of the spelling, sorry.) who was doubling as the bartender, got our food to us in a timely manner and was kind about my kids messing with the menus.
I recommend the Sunset Burger, fries, and the coke float, but the other people in my party would recommend the Avocado Burger, Macaroni and Cheese, the Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, and the Mushroom Burger.
Mel's is a great mom and pop diner with old school charm, and a relaxed atmosphere.
I also really enjoyed looking at the history of celebrity photos on the walls, and my kids liked the jukebox.
Food was amazing! Server was friendly and patient. Music was great! I had a grilled cheese, kettle chips and a tomato soup! Oh yes! And a open ice cream sandwich (cookie with ice cream on top and whipped cream) Definitely recommend for those who have not been to pay a visit. :)
After a slight let down at the sunset location, the owner was so amazingly apologetic & offered me a gift card to try the restaurant again, this time we were not disappointed! Zach our server was polite & attentive at all times. The cheese burger was to die for, juicy & fresh and just the right size. My husband had the short rib grilled cheese which was also amazing, and the horseradish dipping sauce We will definitely be back on our next trip!!
