I love Phil's! I've been eating here my whole life and now it's my son's favorite place at the Farmer's Market. Nothing pleases him like a bowl of Phil's Matzo Ball Soup!

I just found the food here slightly off the mark for me. It isn't bad, ut isn't great also. Just probably. need a bit more seasoning for the fish tacos and it would make everything better. Also had a half-dozen oysters which were fresh, but I feel slightly over priced. Still, deserving of a 4-star from me.

Recently moved from NYC to LA and came here for looking for some comfort deli food, and I found exactly what I wanted. Ordered a patty melt, but had a menu full of great options including corned beef and pastrami. Probably not the healthiest, but if you want some great burgers and sandwiches, Phil’s delivers. The service was excellent too.

Warm, hearty breakfast fare a cut above your run-of-the-mill diner's. I had the bacon and cheese omelet served with hash browns and what toast, plus a cup of California sunshine (OJ for the unimaginative). In addition, the counter dynamic in the heart of the Farmer's Market makes it a great starting point to fuel you explorations in L.A. Would it be excessive if I went two days in a row?

Pretty awesomely tasting burger in the original farmer’s market. You won’t think burgers at a farmer’s market will be that good. But you will be surprised! I will be back for more!

I live for the turkey club here. Been getting it for no less than 11 years and it still is amazing.

I come here a lot after school to get a bite. For me, the mark of a good restaurant is how understanding they are of people with speech impediments and stutters, since I have one and ordering food is a stressful endeavor. Phil's has very understanding and patient staff in this regard. One could see them as apathetic or rude for being blunt and upfront, but I honestly appreciate the lack of a fake smile. They get me my food, treat me respectfully, can't ask for anything more. Food is wonderful too, no complaints.

Rubin sandwiches are probably my favorite sandwich of all time and no one makes em better than the state of New York. So to get 5 stars here in Socal would have been a miracle. Well Phil's came close.... moist corn beef and perfectly toasted rye. It would have recieved the last star if i ciuld have tasted the russian dressing and if it came with a pickle. Close but not NY.

This is really the centerpiece of the Fairfax farmers market. They offer mostly simple sandwiches and deli food your order won’t be very complex but all in all it’s a fair price for the serving size. Expect a line they do have a bar setting where you can get served. I ate here quite a lot when I worked locally. Staff is friendly and they are always busy.

This place is great. Of course it's slammed with tourists, given the Farmers Market location, but allowing for that they do a really good job. It's deli/diner food, burgers and fries, all kinds of breakfast stuff, sandwiches, cream cheese and lox on a bagel. Good value for money in terms of the portions. And everybody who has ever waited on me there has been uniformly friendly.
