The fried chicken and waffles ($22) and coffee ($3.15) and surrounding were everything I wanted from this old school diner. They also had a daily special breakfast for $13 which looked good. The waffles were crispy and airy, and the chicken was crisp outside and moist inside. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the service was very prompt and friendly (I came on a Monday morning and the large 50s retro dining area was only half full.) I'd definitely go back! Coffee was hot and half and half was provided at my request (I'm not a fan of creamer packets :).) Free parking too, although I could see it filling up on a busy weekend.

This old school style Diner takes the cake! I was craving something sweet so I stopped in for a pancake, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into but I was up for the challenge. There banana Walnut pancakes were the bomb, perfect to share. Love the old school atmosphere from the inside out were my reasons for giving it a shot. If you’re in the area stop on by.
So this place opened in 1954, and it totally retains that 50s or 60s diner vibe. The inside is an amazing piece of Americana. If you want to act out that diner scene from 'Pulp Fiction' this is the place...
The food was very good. I had a HUGE salad and my partner had wings and onion rings. All very generous portions. Service was rapid an attentive. Very good all around.
So we returned on Thanksgiving day and both had a "complete chicken dinner". Salad (or soup), generous chicken serving (3 pieces) and 2 sides, plus banana bread and a drink. All excellent.
Dinah's consistently provides an enjoyably memorable experience. Dishing up a cool vintage atmosphere, super pleasant neighborhood vibe, friendly, efficient service and generous dishes of deluciousness.
First of all, the staff themselves were the absolute gems of this place. Our waitress Sandra was absolutely fantastic, she was such a pleasure to interact with and helpful at every turn. I'm so glad to have been seated in her section. Answered all of our questions.
The food was great as well. I had the fried chicken dish. Do I think it's the best fried chicken in the world? No, but that doesn't mean it wasn't delicious. I would absolutely order it again.
The banana bread was a bit on the staler side, but the flavors were still there.
Navy bean soup was hot and delicious.
In hindsight, would have done the all you can eat fried chicken to split between me and my dinner companion.
Worth a stop in, especially if you are staying at the nearby Hilton as I was.
Old dinner atmosphere is fun and cool. The fried chicken and beef ribs delicious. Great friendly service. You get a lot food for the price. Take your whole family.
We ordered Chicken and Waffles, and the senior Chicken dinner. I like that you could pick white meat or dark meat with chicken, which was perfectly done. Tasted wonderful. But the height of the meal was clearly the waffle. Light, crispy and super delicious. The salad was fresh and the dressing very tasty. The coleslaw was good. We took home a small bucket of chicken and they included delicious dinner rolls with it.
Diner food. Love the atmosphere. 5hey film a lot of movies here. They shut down for productions sometimes. Lingdenberry pancankes featured in The Big Labowski are great. I go for the vibe and coffee. I'm I vegetarian and there aren't a lot of options for vegetarians other than cake products, eggs and potatoes. Famous for their 🐔 but in one of those vegetarians. Still love going here. It is expensive for a diner. $15 for eggs and potatoes (which is what i anyways get). $20+ for eggs Benedict... maybe I'm just old.
Good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I’ll return during my next stay 👍🏼
It's always a nice place to go when going to/from LAX. My husband said it was the best waffle he has had in years! I had the Mediterranean omelet with feta cheese, to keep it ... Mediterranean! My only complaint is that the toast was cold so the butter would not melt on it. I chose cottage cheese instead of carbs and it was good and fresh and refreshing! Service as always was excellent! We miss seeing the old radios around the top.
This place has great customer service. Everyone was so attentive and constantly Checking on us Jesus our server was so kind. First time here and we got the fried chicken/ pork ribs with mashed potatoes was pretty good will definitely return if we are back in town. A nice diner that gives you the nostalgic vibes.

We can't fly into Los Angeles and not go here. My kids absolutely love it. I don't eat chicken but my kids say it's the best chicken fingers and wings they've ever had. I love their club sandwich.
I was in the Culver City area and ran into this amazing place. I ordered fried chicken and French fries. It was juicy and very crispy, the coleslaw was the best I've ever had. I also order a German pancakes. It was my first time trying it and I loved it. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend.
Dinah's is such a hidden gem. The food was great and the servers were super nice. Both the breakfast options are yummy.
Foods okay, and atmosphere has slipped.
This place has gone downhill since I used to come as a kid. Food was mediocre (omelette and Ruben), waitress didn’t write down full order (which led to a miscommunication), and the whole atmosphere is in desperate need of a reviving and renovations. I’d still eat here again, but it’s dropped on my list from a “go to staple”, to an “only if convenient”.
Food recommendation is the chicken fried steak and eggs, big oven baked pancakes, and the fried chicken. Skip the Reuben as it was empty.
