This is a very lovely place, with a lovely atmosphere right between the buildings, overlooking the skyline of downtown los angeles. The food here is some of the best in the area. Love the selection and freshness of the sushi. The service was okay until it came time to pay. I had a groupon and the assistant manager told me that the tip was included. Now, I've been a Groupon fan and user for a long time and the tip is never included. It even tells you on the website to tip generously. It's just a manager took it upon himself to add a twenty two percent tip. The waiter did do a great job and I would have given that to him, but it was the principle of adding something that I didn't ask him to, nor did he have to. If you get service from Nile, you're in for a treat, and please tip my man generously. Also, be sure to try the fresh edamame, life changing.
Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere. This restaurant definitely has it. AND the food is great.
Angus fillet robota, rolls (surf & turf, spider, and spicy tuna), cocktails (and their non-alcoholic counterparts)... all great... and all while overlooking downtown Los Angeles at night.
Nice spot for sure.
Takami Sushi has always been a special spot but the kindness of Bartender Alejandro makes this place have heart! The ambience is downright futuristic and has a full moon suspended in the entry dining area and while hoisted into the skies over DTLA : it gives village and local neighbors vibes! Joycelyn the hostess with the mostess made sure we were aware of exact happy hour cut off times so we could keep the sushi rolls coming! They have great deals & the best interior design! Thank you for what you do Takami and thank you again Alejandro: you made our evening so great!
My favorite Sushi downtown with an open air view of the financial district of Downtown Los Angeles. Had a specially yellowtail roll and an Arnold Palmer while my friends got bento boxes for lunch. The waiter was attentive and the restaurant has a great overall vibe and trendy high end atmosphere.
Went for our anniversary and the service was excellent. Crispy rice was okay, sashimi and nigiri were good, but the couple of rolls we had were outstanding. Great view and ambiance too. A bit expensive if you’re used to Sugarfish prices, but not crazy.
The sushi is good and some items are pretty memorable. The Robata is a little expensive, but very good. Terrific views from the restaurant, but it gets very noisy if they're having a big event at their bar next door.
If you are in for a nice delicious sushi place with a beautiful view of down town LA, this is where to be. They also carry other items for non sushi lovers. They are all simply exquisite. Their customer service is exceptional from start to finish. We denefinitly recommned this place 100%.
Service wasn’t bad, but not exceptional. Had to ask for refills. Food came fast and was great.

Probably my top five sushi spots in downtown Los Angeles. Excellent customer service and the food quality is up there.
The bar side is my favorite chill spot with real cool/awesome bar tenders. I recommend the calamari, stuffed pepper, churro waffle, their hand rolls and most of their menu. The scallops is great, hand rolls and most of the menu.
Reservation recommended to avoid the longer waits, but the bar side might be a better bet if you’re just a walk in.
Great to know Takami is still as fantastic as I recall. The tacos were super light and delicious, the "21st st. Roll" was really tasty treat, both are must haves. Char from the grill for the veggie robatas added some great depth and make sure to get the black truffle sauce with it. Sea Bass was really good. And thank God for RC, the best mixologist in LA. Cocktails are amazing and make sure to ask for a "Time & Place" shot. You'll be in for a really fun treat. "Gold Shorts" secret menu cocktail is also a must.
This is a modern Japanese restaurant located on the 21st floor of an office building in DTLA. All seats have nice view of the LA downtown, but the view is a bit obstructed by taller buildings. The food was nice. I especially like the soft shell crab and the molten chocolate yuzu cake. The sushi and sashimi were fresh as well. However the service was slow, and we had to wait for 15+ min for our second round of food. Despite noting birthday celebration in the reservation, the waiter wasn't aware of that and we had to ask them to put a candle on the dessert. It was nice that they ended up giving us the dessert for free.
Loved the views and open air here. Ambience was nice, R.C. mixed up some great drinks and Ana our server was attentive and down to earth. Happy Hour had some very tasty treats. Wagyu dish was like butter. Every plate we ordered was delicious. Will definitely go back.
This is the best restaurant I have ever been to. Especially in LA. I mean everything was perfect. Everything came out super fast, everyone was so nice, it was clean and the overall vibe of the place was amazing. If your thinking about going here, you NEED to. The best sushi I have tasted.
What a wonderful experience we had! The views are fantastic, very friendly staff all around (even when we showed up early they accommodated us!) And the food was all so delicious!
