The experience was excellent. Every dish we had from start to finish was delicious! Our server Michelle was amazing: great personality, sociable while not being over bearing, attentive and offered great suggestions for meals! We ordered charbroiled oysters, fried chicken wingettes, famous seafood platter (catfish and snapper), T-bone steak, shrimp po boy. Sides of Mac and cheese, red beans and rice, spinach, and fries. There isn’t one thing we wouldn’t order again! Portions and value for money are also fantastic!
This was my first time going to Harold &Belle's. I had the red snapper which was seasoned well and crunchy. The catfish nuggets were good as well. I would definitely go back to try another dish.
First time here, but it won't be the last! The exterior is a little misleading because the inside is elegant and comfortable. They have a full bar right when you walk into the right, and it's perfectly lit. Tvs with sports are on, and the vibe is chill and classy. I had the jambalaya to start, and the sausage they use is like nothing I've had in a long time. The flavor was delicious! They are famous for their fried catfish, but I was not hungry enough to have an entire fish, so I tried the po boy instead, and it was excellent! Next time, I'll need to try some of the cocktails, but I had their IPA, and it was refreshing and balanced. Harold and Belle's is a staple in the community and a MUST visit for locals and visitors alike.
I would absolutely come back for a second visit!!
We got:
Catfish Nuggets for the Appetizer 5/5
Salmon Creole Pasta 4/5 (The pasta sauce was exquisite but I think I expected more out of the salmon)
Mac and Cheese side 5/5 (AMAZING)
Catfish Po Boy 3.7/5 (a different type of bread would have brought this to 5/5!)
We went on a Thursday around 6:30 and service was great and quick! Our waitress Desiree was so nice and helped me decide what to get!
I hope to go back soon to try the other entrees!
My review about Harold & Belles is that it is a very nice family style restaurant. The service was great, starting on the phone. The lady who answered the phone was super nice and remembered. I called to ask if reservations were needed. The food was delicious, but I'm sorry I was not a fan of the crab cakes! I would definitely come back again! Fried chicken was the star of the menu. Try that!
I never ate oysters before and really love the way they prepare them. Rockafella style, all the food was great. Customer service is great, we'll be going back again.
Decided to visit after being featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. This was an awesome and filling meal. I loved everything I ordered and it was worth it. Shout-out to Alex, very pleasant waitress. She made me feel very welcomed and well token care of.
I absolutely loved the food, the ambience and the service. Even though I ate alone I felt at home. This is a wonderful creole restaurant.
It's been over 20 years since I've been here because I don't eat seafood and I don't eat pork and didn't remember much options. Last night we went and truly enjoyed ourselves. There were more options for me to eat and I'm mad I didn't take more photos. The service was great. Everyone was helpful and friendly and kept checking on us. We ordered wings, salad, red beans and rice, Mac n cheese, catfish, gumbo, maitais and beignets. While I wish the wings had a little more flavor and the beignets were a little less doughy, we truly enjoyed our meal and being able to support this great little restaurant that's been around for so very long. We will definitely be back.
Also, best maitais I've ever had! That hasn't changed over the years!
Sorry we were hungry and totally forgot to take pics of everything else🤦🏾♀️
FOOD and DRINKS were 🤤!!! Amazing Customer Experience, they were extremely friendly and very welcoming, has a Great Location it was well worth the trip here 👍🏾👍🏾
AMAZING JAMBALAYA & FRIED CHICKEN!!!
The food was great! Our waiter/ bartender was awesome. My whole family enjoyed themselves even our 10-year-olds. If you're in the area I'd definitely suggest stopping in...
Thoroughly enjoyed my gumbo! Well stocked. Crab legs were mushy not firm. Bread pudding delicious, sauce underwhelming however. Will def enjoy again!
Service was excellent, ladies Ebony ...great!
3 of us walked in without a reservation on Sunday, June 25th, 2023 and it was EXTREMELY busy. The manager was wonderful and after about 15 minutes, we were seated in the bar area at a high top table in the corner. The server was great, my Bulleit Old Fashioned was delightful and the food was SCRUMPTIOUS! My friends had been telling me about this place for years and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend the liver and onions (I know, I know) and the peach cobbler. One note: be prepared to valet park. The restaurant is in an old strip mall and we didn't even attempt to look for a parking space in the surrounding area.
So, I’ve been hearing about Harold & Belle’s for at least a decade and finally went with my family this afternoon. The restaurant is New Orleans themed with black art along the walls and the service was excellent. The food—we all had clam chowder and the wingettes to start. The clam chowder was a 5 for 5. It was thick and savory and absolutely delicious! The wingettes were good, but not as I hoped or as they looked. Also, the amount of wings was not commensurate to $18 price tag. I’m any case, they were fairly good. For the entree we had the seafood platter—catfish, fried shrimp, French fries, and I tried the Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious, although the Mac & Cheese was not my mommas Mac & cheese…lol! My son had the salmon creole with pasta and although he loved the salmon, which was nice and moist, he did not favors the pasta. For dessert we ordered the sweet potato pie and banana pudding, and we were surprised with benet’s, which were good. Overall I’d give this restaurant a solid 4. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We visited in early May 2023 for a family function dinner. This whole experience was awesome. This is a classy and established restaurant that also offers valet parking. We took advantage of that service and it was an awesome experience.
Inside, our waitress was friendly and went above and beyond with her duties. Constant checks to make sure all our needs were being met as well as refilling our drinks often. There were only positive remarks from everyone in our group on the service. Her attitude was pleasant and friendly.
The pleasant environment here adds to the overall experience. It felt upscale with all of the wood adorning the establishment. Cant appreciate the decor enough as it was classy, clean and inviting. It has a very traditional yet laid back feeling. I felt comfortable just walking around, enjoying the pictures and decor of the building.
And lastly, the food. Cooked to perfection and delicious. Having grown up in Los Angeles from the 70's with southern parents, I can say that I have experienced good southern cuisine. And Harold and Belle's does an awesome job of preparing and serving up delicious soul food. Everything from the appetizers to the main course was delicious. Food was seasoned to perfection, served hot and was very filling. Yes, they serve up generous portions so be prepared to take some home. We had leftovers the next day and of course it was even better the next day.
I can not recommend this place enough and we plan to visit on a regular basis.
If you're in the mood for a classy environment with great employees and awesome food, you have to visit this place. I can assure you, you won't be disappointed.
A solid five star, highly recommended restaurant.
