Now this is the kind of place where it’s a blend of rocking and silent evening. Superb place. Superb staff. Every staff was humble and really knowledgeable. Liked the way the place has a old touch yet modern vibes. Will visit again. If you are in LA then it’s a must visit. Only FEEDBACK or my dissatisfaction would be the website does not have any SSL and the booking through the website redirects to emails. While booking there goes a lot of email exchange back and forth and then I have to share my card number on email. Which I think is not safe. Such a great place should have a good website and you can block reservations through card using the website and should show the slots available.
Coolest bar in the area. Big speakeasy vibes with low light, wood tones throughout. Bar is smaller with about 5 stools but there is wait staff that attends to the tables. Most of all there's the bowling alley, a draw on its own. 100% worth even just a drink at.
This is by far one of my favorite new bars. My bartender was Yael and she was amazing. The drinks she made were really tasty and she is very creative.
She made us a bowl for our party with rum and passionfruit and was delicious and loaded. Highly recommended and ask for this famous bartender, she will hook you up!!!
We will be back soon for more yummy drinks and good mix of old school hip hop and classics.
What an awesome experience. Don’t go out in Hollywood often and was looking Dr something after the Hollywood Bowl. Great vibe. I’ll bowl next time!
One of my new favorite spots in LA, especially in the area. HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation for a bowling lane if/when you go.
There are only two lanes and we were lucky that there was a no-show when we went, so we were able to snag the open lane for the remaining 45 mins of the missed reservation.
The lanes have an attendant and scorekeeper that manually keeps track on the chalkboard too, which is a unique twist to keep the old school vibes
Great hotel bar with two bowling lanes that we used. Good drinks, manual scoring with what was essentially a bowling valet. Everything was top notch from entrance to exit. Highly recommended
One of The Best Craft Cocktail Joints in LA. Somewhat hidden in the historic Roosevelt Hotel is a brilliant bar that has a vintage bowling alley. The mixologists there are excellent and the leggy wait staff are gorgeous. It's best to get there early. 1) So you can get a decent seat. 2) Before they turn up the music to an obnoxious level. Having said that, you'll be hard pressed to get a better drink in the city of the angels.
Awesome place to get specialty drinks and bowl late night. We found it easily in the Roosevelt Hotel and had a great server that helped us get drinks and set up bowling. There are a lot of board games to play as well there, so paying the $100 to bowl for an hour isn't necessary. They had live music the first time I went here, and it was fantastic.
I went to the Spare Room in the Roosevelt Hotel on OSCAR Night, for an After OSCAR Awards Party, for the very First time in my life.
I wondered Why, the Spare Room was called the Spare room. When I think of spare rooms in a house, I think of a room that is hardly used, and is often used for a catch all place to put things out of the way.
I can Tell everyone, and many of You I'm sure knew it long before I figured it out. A Spare is also a Bowling term. Therefore, in the case of the Roosevelt Hotel, The Spare Room is a Bowling lane.
On OSCAR Night, it was a good Meet and Greet Place, along with a mature Party atmosphere. Kind of reminded me of the 1970's, which very few places and events can remind me of.
Why, did I go to this particular party, on OSCAR night, and why did I like this Venue, right across from where the OSCARS Were held?
The Number One (1) Reason I went to this, and no other After OSCAR event celebration, was to meet established professionals in the Entertainment Industry.
Did I accomplish my goal of networking? If so, in what way?
I arrived at the Spare Room early, and located only One (1) of Two (2) booth tables that were not reserved.
As the night went on, more and more people came in some of which shared my table with me. As a result, I got to meet several people, some I got to know, a few provided me with thier Bussiness card.
Additionally, I danced like I have not done since I was in High School, when I was in the 9th, and 10th grades. Like I said, it was kind of like being in the 1970's.
The ladies there that night were friendly, while being classy. Noone turned me down for a dance. At times it was groups of strangers dancing together.
Has a great vintage feel! The ambiance is warm and inviting. To the left of the alley they have booths to sit and play games. Great for birthdays. They have a bar as well.
Cozy and fun place.
I like the decoration of the place. Has 2 lanes of bowling and has nice booths.
Drinks are good. Food is good as well.
The Spare Room inside of the Roosevelt Hotel is located on the mezzanine. We went on a unique night when some B-list celebrities were patting themselves on the back for a unheard of streaming premier on Hulu at best. The comedy was, if you went anywhere near the ledge, one of the guards would stop you and ask you were you were going, even though it’s clear you are just trying to find the bar. The bar by the way isn’t really well marked so good luck finding it. You also need to be wearing shoes (no flip flops). The place inside really isn’t that fancy but they want to act that way.
Ok, you’ve managed to make it inside despite all obstacles. We were there pretty early so we got seats at the bar. The bartender was a lot of fun. He made great drinks and we enjoyed talking to him about the area and spirits. We came in for one drink and ended up staying for a few.

Place was a great little gem. It's a vintage bowling alley with only 2 lanes, so cute. It was nicely lit. Very dim. Decent bar, but they need more small food items on the menu. They practically have no food on their menu.
This is one of the coolest spots I've been in LA. Took my wife on a date here, and the whole night was perfect. The drinks are next level, true mixology happening at the bar. Best cocktails I've had in LA alongside the Wolves. Vibe is great, old school bowling lanes, an epic hotel- Marilyn Monroe's mirror, a staircase Shirey Temple danced down (as told by one of the staff members who took us on a mini tour.) Staff is amazing, they're making sure everyone has a great time.
Went with some friends to celebrate his birthday had a great time
Went on a Friday night before they shutter their outdoor operation and move back inside. Had a resy for 8:30 and the host was very accommodating despite being late. Finding street parking was a hassle so plan ahead for that.
Place was perfect for a chill date at first. Service was very friendly and drink options were extensive. The drinks themselves were ok, but nothing special. Around 10, a DJ started and with each subsequent song, the place got crazy loud and crowded. Alright for a night out, but we ended up having to shout at each other over the music before giving up and leaving. Thankfully because it's a part of the Roosevelt, there's other patios you can retreat to if you're not looking for a club.
Would give 3 stars if it weren't for the fantastic service here. Hosts and servers are all very friendly and accommodating. Just know what scene you're looking for and plan your timing accordingly.
