Great ambiance, cute place, customer service can be hit or miss, food is tasty. We visit frequently for our monthiversaries, live music in the evenings. Their attached bar, Bar Stella is awesome, we always stop by for a couple drinks after dinner. Fun.
French restaurant with a fun bar attached. I recommend going to the bar for drinks - always full, good music and great vibes. The restaurant is nice, mostly French dishes. We enjoyed the burger and the cheese plate. Oysters were very fresh. However the escargots and the mussels lacked flavor. For dessert, the crema brûlée is the way to go. Prices are high. Service was quick, reservations recommended.
Dinner tonight was my first time visiting here and I regret that I have not been here sooner. I had a really nice experience and aside from a few hiccups it was a really good dinner with a great vibe. Just to start I really like the design, almost an outdoor inside type of feeling. I especially like the lighting since it’s very low and resembles candlelight. The live jazz was perhaps the true icing on the cake in terms of what made it an enjoyable setting. The music was not too loud that we could not hear each other talking but loud enough that it drowned out the tables around us.
I will admit service was pretty slow at the beginning and we had to wait awhile to get our check after we finished but I don’t blame the server at all she was very polite and everyone we saw was working hard I just think they were short staffed tonight. I started off with the beet salad with blue cheese and it was very tasty. Very light and refreshing and was a great start. For my entree I chose the Dover Sole and it was delicious; I finished every bit of it.
Overall I would recommend to anyone, especially if you’re a fan of bistro style French cuisine. I would say it’s a casual setting so it would be ideal for a date or a dinner with friends. Parking can be a pain in the area however they do provide valet. It is a bit more expensive than some other bistros but they do have large portion sizes and it is quality.
This is by far one of the best places to eat. Their French onion soup is one of the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve travelled the world). All of their food is the best and our server Paul was one of most engaging servers I’ve experienced - very knowledgeable to match the greatness in taste. Please take the time to experience any item on their menu - with a date or good friend.
The pièce de résistance at Cafe Stella is undeniably the food. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the chef's dedication to traditional French cuisine. The Coq au Vin was a melt-in-your-mouth delight, and the Crème Brûlée dessert was a heavenly finale to our meal.
Fantastic atmosphere/ambiance, live jazz music, very good food. Really a nice evening. Parking around the area WILL be tough, so give yourself time. In fact, if you can't walk, Uber.
As with many restaurants post-covid, you'll probably need a reservation as well. They have a decent amount of seating capacity, but it's good food with good atmosphere, so expect a bit of a crowd.
Cafe Stella is such a cool place with an amazing vibe! The decor is super cool and the crowd is beautiful. I really loved Bar Stella where they serve the best cocktails I have ever had. Thanks especially to Vini who treted us extraordinarily!
Awesome experience with dates! They loved the lamb sausage! A little bit spicy but delicious

I absolutely love this Café, I've been coming here consistently and I've tried various items on the menu and I've got to say everything is of great quality and taste. My first time coming here I was served by Angel and all I can say is 10/10. I have to say that I will ask for him every time I come in the hopes that he'll be my server everytime.
Great food and service. Fantastic ambiance. Well priced.
Really cool and unique little cocktail spot! I heard they have food as well.
You can't beat the ambience here. Most of the seating is in a very charming outdoor patio. The interiors consist of various rooms intertwined together. Nothing else in L.A. like it. Good wine and cocktail selection. They have a great lunch and dinner menu. Service is generally very good. It is expensive. I've heard a lot of people mention this wondering if the food was actually worth it. I don't know. But I always find myself going back. One of Silver Lake's classic establishments. Be prepared for charm and don't worry about the cost and you will enjoy it.
Nice warm ambiance but to me, the food is everything. We had a reservation for 4 and they were able to accommodate 6 of us that showed up. We had a cocktail in the patio while we all arrived.
The menu looked pretty classic and i love it when chefs make classics perfect instead of trying too hard to innovate and ruining the original meals. This happens a lot in LA. To me, everything was perfect. At the table we ordered oysters that were nice and fresh and champagne. Perfect pairing! Nice champagne! Then ordered the frittes with filet mignon. I've ordered this dish in other French and Belgian restaurants and this one is the best. Perfect fries, perfect filet mignon with herb butter. The butter and baguette were so great, I'm still licking myself thinking about it. Perfect creme brulee, and these other puffs with cream and ganache. I gotta come back cause that is all i could fit in. Super recommended. The only negative thing about this place is that there are no options on the menu for vegans. There's like a side plate of grilled vegetables, and that's no fun as an entree. I have many vegan friends and I'm sad that i can't bring them. But lucky for me, I'm not vegan so I'll be there again soon.
I was there two years ago as I was on holidays in LA. I am french so when my friend made a reservation there I was a bit suspicious but OMG, it was literally one of the best french restaurant I ever visited outside of France!! Everything was great from the wine, to the main dish to the dessert! I can't wait to come back soon!
Great location, great vibes, good menu. Not so great service.
Were a party of 3 adults and a 6 year old. The decor is a perfect mix of French brasserie style and LA charm. The menu was perfect french fare. We unfortunately experienced sub-par service but I was assured by a regular that it wasn't typically like this. Would try again as I love a gorgeous, casual French spot and this one was very special. The Stella salad is worth a skip though. Lean into the french-inspired dishes. The croque-madame was a hit.
Great bar. Perfect spot to impress your significant other. Candlelit + alcohol = winning.
