My first visit will not be my last. I wasn't in the mood for adventure yesterday; just wanted to sit at the bar and eat some well-prepared raw fish items. The salmon sushi was delectable, buttery and just-out-of-the-water fresh (and the chef was generous with his slices), the spicy albacore roll brought a perfect balance of spices to the soft, mild fish. Next time, I'll try their kampachi and hamachi. The service was friendly and fast, and our sushi chef was charming. See you again soon, Sushi Go 55...

First time was a memorable and wonderful experience--more than satisfied. It's hard to find places with good and fresh quality clam, especially, Orange clam! Second time, Chef Tomu(?) prepared everything so carefully, beautifully and most importantly deliciously. He was so sweet and considerate when I started taking pictures by helping me also. Truly a great experience with the food AND customer service. Thank you!

My boyfriend took me for birthday dinner last night. It was so good! I ordered scallop, sea urchin, eel, shrimp, and tuna nigiri. Everything tasted so fresh. We'll definitely come back.

My wife and I were on a food high after eating super fresh sashimi. Normally I prefer Bluefin Tuna over Big Eye Tuna and it was super delicious today. Also the miso soup is so much better than most places.

Small window by the farmers market serving honestly the best sushi ever an c at the greatest prices, I used to love going shopping here and then grabbing lunch at GO go.

Just Like Tokyo, but Closer. Walking into Sushi Go 55 ("Go Go Go") was like walking into any good sushi place around Tokyo. Friendly greeting, classic decor and wonderful food. Oishii yo! I was a guest of the office for the Japanese consulate in Los Angeles - that should be al you need to know. If they like it, what are you waiting for? We all had chirashi sushi and it was fresh, well presented and perfect. I love everything about Sushi Go 55 right down to the inspirational document posted in the bathroom and available at the front desk. Highly recommended.

Great place with great fish and great chefs. If you want to expand your sushi horizons visit this place and trust the chefs. They typically have a greater variety than other places and sometimes have fish the others wish they had. If you aren't comfortable experimenting I can tell you their chirashi sushi is always made to order and has both a more varied and generous assortment of fish.

We placed a Togo order for a delightful variety of dishes at this Japanese restaurant located in downtown LA. It happens to be one of my brother's favorite places, and he was determined to welcome me with a special dinner from here, despite the crazy Friday traffic in the area. Arriving a little early, we patiently waited for them to open at exactly 5:00 pm. Since our order was quite substantial, they kindly brought the food to our car in the parking structure. My generous brother left a big tip for both the waitress and the person who delivered the food. The entire family thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I opted for the chirashi, which was a generous portion of fresh sashimi, rice, and a variety of veggies. It paired perfectly with my niece's favorite beer, Allagash Curieux, which I found to be excellent. Later, we also indulged in some sake. The gathering was filled with heartwarming conversations and scrumptious food, making it a truly cherished moment for all of us. Such experiences remind us of the joy of family gatherings and the simple pleasures of life.

My wife and I have been dining here for years (mostly dinner) and we like the Unaju (pictured) and Chirashi Bowl. Always a pleasant experience with nice staff, delicious and good size food, casual and calm atmosphere, and fair prices. Parking is easy because we park at the Mall and get ticket validated. 1-2 blocks from the main Little Tokyo / Japanese Village Plaza. Easy walk.

Took a friend for an impromptu omakase lunch at the sushi bar. Pretty much a tasting menu of their today’s special/fresh catches. Super fatty toro, and tried some that are usually rarely appeared on the menu. Love it! Very good quality & freshness. Their marinated mushroom was soo naturally sweet (no sugar added). $140 per person (this price might change based on type of fishes available. It’s comparable to those more famous omakase joint. Just that you are not paying extra for the decoration. This is a cozy family run old school goodness. Oh and their house made wasabi/scalllion sauce is so good I wish I could buy some to take home!

Low key spot that offers delicious sushi at a reasonable price. Service was good despite there only being one server and a constant stream of customers. Upon hearing it was my birthday, they brought us sake shots on the house - so sweet!

We arrived after the lunch rush and was treated to the front-row seat right by the chefs. We had been looking forward to this meal after finding Sushi Go 55 from our research. We loved how fresh the sushi and sashimi’s were, and the servers were warm and attentive. We did have a little difficulty finding the restaurant at first. There was a lack of obvious signage outside, but the food more than made up for it. Definitely going back next time we’re in LA.

2 hours from start to finish including wait-list. Sorry to say but it wasn't worth the wait. Was only 4th on the list but the limited 7 tables made the wait over 30 min. Coming from a real Japanese visitor, it didn't meet expectations especially from the higher prices being charged. Received the wrong nigiri order at first. Only 1 server who can speak Japanese couldn't provide all the tables with the proper attention that was required. Decent level of authentic sushi in US.

Great lunch spot. Their chirashi hits the spot—good portions, good cuts, and comes with miso soup and little side dishes. There was no line when I came at 1pm on a Wednesday. Parking validation provided. It’s inside on the 3rd floor and either they don’t have a sign or the neon doesn’t work, so it’s easy to miss.

When I lived in downtown, this place was always my favorite sushi restaurant. Chirashi bowl and unagi bowl were the best. After I moved away from downtown three years ago, I always missed here. Last week I got a change to stop by. The food is as authentic and good as before, but the portion of unagi is smaller. The chef is very friendly as usual. This place is located in a mall on third street, and the parking can be validated by the restaurant.

A very traditional Japanese restaurant inside the mall at the top floor. They are known for their Chirashi Bento Boxes and that is what we went with. We ended up getting the Chirashi Take and Chirashi Matsu. The Matsu has some additional seafood including scallops, sea urchin and roe. It was really fresh and presented nicely! The service was good and attentive as well. Glad we tried out this simple and humble spot!

My family and I are so happy to be back for the first time since the pandemic started. Happy to report that the sushi is just as good as it has ever been. Can't wait to be back when the bar opens up for some omakase action.

This spot is the bomb!!! Spicy Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Octopus, and Chirachi Box. You gotta try it! When you come to the door, please wait to be seated. And be nice. I witnessed an impatient meathead try to storm in. Geeeez.... He definitely missed out on some great sushi.

I used to come here like 4 years ago. It’s still just as good as I remember. A hidden gem in little Tokyo mall. One of the best chirashi in LA. I got the regular chirashi and my girlfriend got the deluxe which included uni. Our server was attentive and friendly. Before Covid this used to be a busy spot but there weren’t too many people at all for dinner on Sunday night.

Authentic Japanese Sushi place, it’s inside a mall but if feels cozy and casual. Absolutely fresh ingredients, kind and fast service, experienced chefs. You know the place is real when you’re the only person not from Japan here. Amazing Spicy Salmon and Rainbow roll. If you care about presentation, I guess you could go somewhere else, but taste wise this is the real deal.
