My first time experience here is a +. There was a crowd but there was seating. The staff was incredibly nice and the atmosphere was great. You are served not one or two types of salsa but three with fresh chips. Guacamole had these rich flavors; I will have to say it was the best guacamole I've had in a restaurant. The chile verde plate was delicious.

Food, service, drinks and atmosphere have been outstanding for the 20 years I have been going there. That excellence was still the case, last night for my 80th birthday celebration. Our group had a wonderful, fun time!

A beautiful restaurant filled with Rufino Tamayo tapestries, a magnificent host in Humberto Veloso, a trio playing all the romantic songs and a great meal. With my bride at my side, nothing could be better!

Excellent place to dine for authentic Mexican food. The owner has artist artwork and paintings all over the premises. Name of the artist/painter is Yup Ruffini Tamayo! Named the restaurant after him. Enjoy!!!

Pretty good upscale Mexican place. A little on the pricey side, but worth it. Everything I have had, has been really good. The staff is very courteous and friendly!

One of my favorite places to dine. Great menu selection, everything made to order. Philipe is the head waiter, he is the best, just introduce yourself and he will do what it takes to satisfy your dining experience. Nice atmosphere, use to be an art gallery, plenty of dining space and restaurant is very clean. Secure valet parking or you can park on street. Nice comfortable bar with TV's to watch your favorite sports.

Came here for my brother's graduation dinner on a Friday. It was fairly empty, there is only valet parking. The area surrounding the restaurant is not what you'd expect from the incredible service you get once entering this establishment. The outdoor facade/ look is not appealing. The place looks as if it was a repurposed motel building made into a fine dining Mexican restaurant. The place is pretty big with plenty of seating for large parties. The interior is much more appealing to the eye with large canvased paintings of Mexican artists. My favorite was the recreation of The Last Supper but with abstract pineapples. The food was good but not out of this world Mexican food. The prices are definitely high for what you order. I believe the chicken was the best. I ordered their combination of chicken flautas and the Chile relleno. Portion sizes are big which makes it all worth it in the end. Highly recommend the prickly pear margarita! (Red) Overall, would come again for a special event like another graduation. We had 2 vegans (including my brother the grad) and we were given great service and accommodation for our diets. He had the veggie wet burrito.

Love the food, atmosphere and service here. Best place to eat in East LA, hands down. The best meal value-wise is the nacho platter, but honestly I've never gotten a meal here I wasn't happy with. It's a good place to go relax with friends or family and the dining area is spacious which is nice.

Awesome food and margaritas! You can really taste the fresh ingredients in the drinks. Also I had the chili Colorado enchiladas and they were the bomb sauce! Very tasty and rich. Finally I have to mention that they do not have mints available, instead they have watermelon jolly ranchers which honestly made my day :)

What more can be said about this place? My go-to spot for authentic food when I'm in town. The staff is incredible, the atmosphere is like being transported to another country, and the original artwork on the walls adds to the experience. Don't miss this place!

Humberto, the owner, has a true passion for food and art! It shows in the amazing artwork he displays and pares it with delicious fresh Mexican foods! Everything I have tried from the salads to the salmon are wonderful! A true experience for those that love food, art and an unbelievably beautiful restaurant! We take all we ant to impress for business meetings to Tamayos. A true gem in East LA!

My children took me here for my birthday. I've been dying to go here for some time now. I am so glad we did! The service was excellent, the food was amazing and I love the ambiance! This is a great restaurant for a date night. Plus you get to look at art! I hope they open soon for dinner services. I plan on returning!

Absolutely spectacular. A must visit for locals and tourists alike. The mole sauce is the best on the planet. Ask them the origin of the recipe.
