Lovely, wonderful sushi. I enjoyed the approach of having 3 set menus--depending on your appetite. They brought each course and the service was wonderful. Of course, you can order additional items a la carte.

Some of the best fish from a sushi snob!

Loved it! You know when you take that first bite and it is either going to make or break the meal(sushi nobs will know)...well this place was a taste of heaven.

Unique sushi experience. While sitting at the sushi bar, the servers kept repeating "no choice" to me. I really didn't know what this meant until the sushi plates kept arriving one after another at the sushi chef's whim. The chef is a very sweet older gentleman who looks like he could cut fish and press rice with his eyes closed. I submitted and was very pleased that I did. He was considerate enough to ask me if I wanted a serving of sea urchin. I usually will skip this but everything up to that point was so good that I obliged. It was slightly sweat with a very rich and creamy texture. One of the best sushi experiences I've had. Try it.

Heaven on Earth, Baby!. Simply, The Best. Nozawa San knows what is best, so Trust Him! Unless you are a senior investment banker visiting Tokyo on an expense account, this is as good as it gets. The Monk Fish Liver is insane. It is difficult to have a tuna roll and not have your eyes roll in the back of your head while you savor, not chew, because teeth are optional. The food is sooooo perfect that one must show the appropriate respect.

Just sit down, shut up.... And eat what they put in front of you. Sushi Nozawa is the only "traditional" sushi restaurant I've been to that makes no-holds-barred Edo-style. The chef will put it in front of you as he sees fit, but be sure to ask what sauce you should (or shouldn't) use with each choice. Not all are intended to be enjoyed with soy/ginger/wasabi.

Additionally, keep in mind that this is an eatery. Don't go for the ambience--there is none.

While my personal tastes are more along the lines of fusion-style sushi, I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

The best sushi you will ever eat! When chef Nozawa says, "trust me" DO IT! You will not be sorry you did.

You can't call yourself a sushi lover if you haven't eaten here.... ...Nozawa is an institution. He's been serving his unbelievably fresh tuna/onion/ponzu medley for years and years. His warm crab hand rolls -- these things you pray he'll include in your "trust me" ride at his sushi bar.

Nozawa's a guy who doesn't mix it up all too often, but what he does do, he does magnificently.

First off, I should disclose at the start that a trip to Tsukiji market in Tokyo (sponsored by my awesome family) last year ruined sushi for me forever. Nothing will ever compare to the freshness of the amazing sashimi we had at the world's largest fish m

Sushi Nozawa officially served its last nigri on Febrary 29, 2012 because Mr Nozawa, a man who has worked all his life, and at Sushi Nozawa for 25 years, wants to retire. His kids have started Sugarfish , a new sushi adventure in various locations in the greater West L.A. area. the sign Sushi Nozawa was a plain dining room in a plain strip of stores on Ventura Blvd. There was no menu when I ate here a couple weeks ago, it is all omakase, chef's choice only.

Some of the best sushi in town! I had always heard great things about SUGARFISH and finally had a chance to try their takeout boxes. Honestly, one of the best “presentations” in take out form I’ve ever seen; from the aesthetics of the food itself to the genius packaging, I was really impressed. The quality of the fish here is undeniably premium… and though it’s not necessarily the cheapest around, you truly get what you pay for when it comes to quality here. An artistic presentation and unbelievable taste - definitely makes me want more! The sushi instruction plate was a special touch alongside their creative packaging. Loved ordering out from this place!

The sushi is very good. The fish is fresh specially the toro which melts in your mouth. The serving pace of the sushi is just perfect giving you time to savour all of them. The staff are all nice and attentive. We requested additional pickled ginger multiple times with no issue. The bento sushi box for take out is nice where sushi's are arranged neatly inside without damaging the presentation. The price of food and the place is ok.

I've been wanting to try Sugarfish after hearing about them by lots of influencers, and I must say the hype is legit. Really good sushi – the fish is so fresh and fatty and the sushi rice has a nice flavor that complements the fish. The simplicity of the sauce and/or the seasoning is perfection, definitely less is more on this one! Will definitely back 👌🏼

Some of the best sushi. The rice is warm and melts in your mouth with the fish. The dishes are served at a wonderful pace. I have known people to not believe the "trust me" is enough food but you realize how great fish and great service in the fashion it is done at Sugarfish is perfect.

Went there for DineLA but their regular price is the same. With that said, the sushi was good, the staff and service was great and they add the tip in automatically at a reasonable 16%, at least this location did

Absolutely delicious sushi in a beautiful ambiance with an extensive menu of sushi specialties. We got the Trust Me Nozawa and loved it along with some sides of uni, anago, engawa, albacore belly, ikura (salmon eggs) and more. The toro was amazing. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and the flavors really popped. Highly recommend you visit, the wait is pretty short and they don’t take reservations. Excellent staff as well!

So the funny thing is I found out about this place during my Single Ladies Days when a MAGICIAN from Tinder took me to the Sunset Blvd location for our first and only date lol. It was my first time trying this location, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! The location is more humble, but the quality is superior to any other sushi we have had in California (Sugarfish just doesn't disappoint you!) The "Don't Think, Just Eat" is the best way to go, but IF you can stomach it (and I believe in you!) GET THE SEASONAL AND DAILY SPECIALS toooo! :) and definitely pairing with a hot green tea, they had YAMA MOTO YAMA green tea (one of my faves) when I went in today. This is a sushi restaurant that pays attention to the quality of the cuts and ingredients and with intent. I didn't find myself dipping in extra sauces, rather just enjoying the sushi for what it is, which is their goal. Sugarfish has a propensity to go above and beyond, serving you emotions on a plate, and man, oh, man, I couldn't control my smile and dancing lol! And oh my goodness, their daily special of the big scallop sushi today was devine!!! However, I was happily surprised by the garnish under the salmon skin sushi! The eel, truth be told, wasn't my fave, but I just don't like eel so you might love it! My boyfriend inhaled it lmao. Carlos was our wonderful server, as is all the staff, he was exceptionally sweet, attentive, funny, and had wonderful timing. Literally my only complaint is that while the 16% tip is already included, you can't add more, and BOY do I wish we could tip MORE without breaking their "no tipping rule." They're just so wonderful! Let me throw money at your servers Sugarfish lol.

Nice little restaurant tucked away in Studio City. Only valet parking available but decent amounts of street parking available throughout. Able to be easily seated without waiting in the afternoon without reservations. Ordered the Nozawa Trust Me which was a perfect balance of food for a nice light lunch. Pricing is very reasonable and fish quality is extremely high.

This is the third time I’ve been to Sugarfish, but the first time I’ve been to the Studio City location. So far, it has not disappointed me yet! We each got the Nozawa Trust Me which is always fabulous. The fish melts in your mouth and the warmed rice is a subtle touch that amazes your tastebuds. I have yet to find out how to prevent the seaweed on the hand rolls from sticking to my mouth 🤣 but those are always delicious as well. I always find that it’s just enough food, and I neither left feeling stuffed nor still hungry. Also recommend getting some sake! I do like the Nigori unfiltered, but this time we got the Nozawa super dry which I like, too.

Had the trust me and the lobster roll to share with a group. It was perfect, a great amount of food and all high quality. A perfect birthday celebration for my co-worker.

Sugarfish creates sushi the real way, which focuses on how the rice is cooked and prepared along with fresh seasonal cuts of fish. The "Trust Me" menu selections are the way to go. No reservations are accepted so anticipate a 45-60 minute wait, even on a weekday.

Great to be able to get it to go. The sushi was tasty and the instructions in the box were helpful. I wish the price were a bit lower for takeout since you have to eat it all at once and it's not as fresh as when you dine in and have it served course by course. But it still hits the spot as a special to go treat meal

Absolutely delicious sushi without totally breaking the bank. I got the don’t think just eat option and my husband got the standard trust me. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. A must try for sushi lovers.
