Sensational ice cream
Ok it’s a little old school but just very well executed. Flavours are not overpowering but pleasant coffee and cookie dough highly recommended...
Family owned since 1963. Apart of the Melting Pot Tours - the last stop!. As part of the Trafalgar tour i did, we did a Melting Pots tour in the farmers market in LA. We were introduced to the owner of Bennett’s and allowed to pick a flavour of ice-cream to sample, i picked bubblegum. It had real bubblegum in it and was the best bubblegum ice-cream I’ve ever had. The colours were so pretty. I have been to the Grove a couple of times and had no idea the farmers market was hidden in there, will go back!
Since 1963, Bennett's Ice cream has been serving delectable varieties of homemade ice cream made daily. You can pretty much know they serve good stuff by the long line you see in their shop in Farmer's Market. We ordered the Salted Caramel and Choffee Choffee - each were decadent and the homemade waffle cones were delightful. Customers can enjoy a wide selection of heavenly flavors and we wished we had an unlimited appetite (and no fear of getting Diabetes) to be able to taste each one of them. This sweet shop prides itself on quality over quantity, serving up ice cream made from the finest ingredients. This store has been around for generations and locals have attested that the quality has not changed. And I can confirm that Bennett's is a must stop if you're in Los Angeles.
Also, just to be clear, this is not cheap Ice Cream. No, you’re not going to go broke getting a scoop, but it is more expensive than the scoops you may be used to. Instead of paying two or three bucks for a scoop, you may be paying four or five. The difference in taste is more than worth it.
Overall it’s too sweet. It’s more of the traditional ice cream shop with lots of flavor choices. I prefer to see more natural ingredients instead of artificial coloring. 2 scoops for $10 :(
Delicious coffee ice cream from a og Los Angeles location. In the heart of the farmers market and their selection of flavours just excellent. Wine sorbet, rum and raisin, chocolate chip - too many to choose between.
Fantastic ice cream! I had the pumpkin ice cream which was to die for, I can’t wait to come back and creat/try new ice cream dessert combinations. The ice cream is creamy and good quality! The service was pretty quick, but be warned they charge about 4% extra on your tab if you’re paying with a card, I died a little on the inside. But hey! I was happy with my ice cream and it brought a smile to my face 😂.
I am absolutely gonna miss this place. Hands down the best ice cream I had in my life. Try their Choffee flavor if you’re a fan of chocolate and coffee!! And their mint chocolate is refreshing! The staff are also super nice.
Also, I have asked them if they use alcohol-extracted vanilla and they said no.
Yummy! I love ice cream and this place just hit the spot. Their milkshakes are pretty good and I'd recommend it. Quick and friendly service.
One thing I'd wish was better was the signs? We noticed a decent amount of people got confused where the line starts and if there was a separate one just to get fountain drinks.
Cute little ice cream store! Tried their frozen banana it was delicious. It’s basically a frozen banana dipped in dark chocolate covered with almonds. It’s pretty fulfilling if you’re having it as dessert. So I recommend you share it with a friend.
Not all ice creams are equal, this ice cream is definitely more equal than others. Bennets is a testament to that. Old fashioned handmade ice creams are really something special. On this day I had a hand pressed stick vanilla ice cream coated in chocolate and almonds. The vanilla was not too sweet, the coating slightly salted, the chocolate slightly dark, maybe 50% cocoa. Ffs this was really really good. Its an ice cream that I will miss till I get to have it again.
Bennett's Ice Cream is an old time classic ice cream shop located at the historical Farmers Market, a local and international tourist spot. I was there on a day where they were giving free ice cream scoop's to the first 50 guest.
Yes, the serving size is small and the prices are high, comparatively speaking. For me, the "Fancy Nancy" favor tasted good. Not overly sweet and I could easily make out the coffee, caramel and banana flavors... nice.
Would I have paid the high price for the small scoop.... No. Would I recommend first time guests to the Farmers Market to try them, as least once, yes!
31 Favors is my go to ice cream parlor. But, the price for me was right (free) that day! Although, I spent about $6 in gasoline to get there and back home.
The ice cream was great. Good flavors and texture. A little expensive at $8 for 2 small scoops but it was good.
Took the family while out here on Spring Break. Had root beer floats, chocolate dipped cone, hot fudge sundae and an ice coffee. All were good. Fun place to visit!
We orderEd mango sorbet ice cream,it is fresh and not too sweet ,recommend !cash only
Located inside the farmer's market next to The Grove. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Good ice cream and selection. Enjoyed the experience.
