Definately order the shrimp and pork lo mein and the Mongolian beef. We tried the glazed walnut and shrimp but it was overshadowed by the aforementioned beef and lo mein. We will definately be back here again.
Small portions, shrimp/stir fried noodles lacked soy, Kung pao chicken good flavor just needed to spice up little more. Very slow servicing table.

Late Night Jook. My father-in-law has been going to Phoenix Inn since he was young, and they've been consistently good for jook over all those years. They don't open until fairly late, but they stay open very late, which is when they tend to be the most crowded. Our family goes there for jook and the doughnuts that go with them. Most of my family prefers the shrimp jook, and my preference \is for chicken and abalone. They serve other Chinese food as well. It tends to be a little greasy, but that's what late night Chinese food is supposed to be like.
I'm in love. We are here and service was immediate. The staff was so friendly.
The food is delicious. No need for soy sauce. We are having fried rice and Beef Rice Noodles/chow fun. Man is it fun to my pallet.
Thank you Phoenix inn.
Fantastic Chinese food with friendly service. Right off the main road through Chinatown, it's easy to park nearby and get to the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and service was quick, but we never felt rushed. The green beans were amazing and it was by far the bust Kung Pao Chicken I've ever had. I would love to go back and sample more food, but everything we had was great.
I had the privilege of dining at this Chinese restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was a delightful fusion of modern elegance and traditional charm. The contemporary decor blended seamlessly with Chinese motifs, creating a visually stunning and comfortable environment. The service was top-notch. The staff was not only courteous but also incredibly efficient. They anticipated our needs and provided helpful suggestions, making us feel like valued guests. The attention to detail was commendable. Now, onto the culinary journey – the food was sensational. The sesame chicken was crispy yet tender, the vegetable stir-fry was bursting with freshness, and the spring rolls were a delightful appetizer. Each dish was a testament to the chef's culinary prowess. In conclusion, this Chinese restaurant is a true gem. Its ambiance, service, and delectable food combine to create an extraordinary dining experience. Whether you're a Chinese cuisine enthusiast or a newcomer, this restaurant is sure to impress and satisfy your taste buds.
I recently dined at this Chinese restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was enchanting, with tastefully decorated lanterns casting a warm glow throughout the restaurant. The cozy seating and traditional Chinese artwork added to the overall charm. The service was exceptional. The staff was not only attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu, guiding us through the extensive options. They made us feel truly welcome, and the promptness of their service was impressive. Now, let's talk about the food! Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece. The flavors were rich and authentic, showcasing the chef's skill. The Peking duck was a standout, perfectly crispy with succulent meat. The dim sum was delicate and flavorful, and the hot and sour soup had just the right balance of spices. In conclusion, this Chinese restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience that ticks all the boxes - impeccable ambiance, top-notch service, and food that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy. It's a culinary journey you won't want to miss.
Very friendly staff. So glad these guys have been around!
Although, I heard WAY back in the day, this was the only place that served morning 潮州-style 點心. If those rumors are true, can we bring them back? Admittedly though, even without that, the food is still good here.
The best Phoenix restaurant I’ve ever been!!! The food and service are great!! Will come back again for sure!
Phoenix Inn, one of the most storied restaurants in L.A. Chinatown. Truly Great food and friendly service. Huge portions. Nothing fancy, 60s decor. No site of Katai Chang and his wife, May Chang, But they'd probably be well into their hundreds if still alive. Real treat to visit The most successful Chinese restaurant empire in LA.
True Hong Kong cooking and so good. We ordered 4 dishes for 3 people and couldn't stop eating! The menu has options for regular and small sized orders. If you want take-home, get regular size. We ignore the interior decor because the food is excellent.
A few of us in our party either hadn't had Chinese in a long time or were picky when it comes to Chinese cuisine. So if you're that kind of group and looking to experience authentic non-fast food Chinese cuisine, this is the place! We all enjoyed our meal. Recommend the sweet and sour pork, sausage fried rice, and Korean style beef haha. Nice staff!
Good food at reasonable prices. Staff speak broken English but very accommodating. Try the tropical ice tea with fruit. Sooooooo delicious. The orange fish also is wonderful. Shrimp friend rice also a favorite. They also have a beef dish that’s pretty good too.
