For years now I have said that this is the best bakery in Los Angeles. Very consistently good over several years. I will always stop in if I’m close by and pick up a croissant or other pastry. Without exception, anything I order is always wonderful. I suggest getting here in the morning if you can and trying a few items. The staff was also exceptionally nice and pleasant.
This place was really cute. Stumbled upon it on a walk through the arts district, the cute cookies stood out to me first. You must try the sesame peanut butter cookies they are divine. I ordered one of their hot sandwiches with mozzarella cheese and chicken and bell peppers and it was very good. Perfect balance of flavors I can’t wait to try their other sandwiches. This place is perfect for an intimate meal or just some alone time in a crazy city
I absolutely love this place and have for years.
With that said, it would be helpful to add the fact that some of the tuna sandwiches include olives! I recently ordered a plenty of fish sandwich for takeout and was (a bit unpleasantly) surprised to find olives in the sandwich when they weren't included in the description. Had I known the sandwich had olives I would’ve ordered something else.
Otherwise, keep doing what you’re doing, Bread Lounge! You’re one of the best hidden gems in the arts district.
The atmosphere is always nice and chill. The music they play really sets the vibe for the place. The food and pastries are delicious and the staff are all super friendly. You can order ahead online (you're welcome).
Try the Jerusalem sesame seed bagel w/dill and capers spread (house spread) instead of cream cheese.
We come here on Sundays. The service is excellent.
Jared is always so polite and welcoming. He always check if we got everything and is super attentive. Their chopped salad is yummy and the shakshuka is the best we found in L.A. we love sitting outside in the patio and the atmosphere is great . All workers work hard and are super friendly . Highly recommend 🩵
Literally the best quiche I’ve had to date. I ordered the mushroom kale quiche. I actually wasn’t even hungry and it was soooooo delicious, I ate it all 😩😂. The team was very knowledgeable and the service was amazing.
The parking was horrible. The parking space was so tight that I witnessed a car backed and hit the other. When I got inside the bakery i was in an awe as I have been wanting to go there. The servicers at the register were all nice and were friendly. Their pastries and bread were fresh, tasty and delicious. Awesome customer service. They have a variety to choose from. It's far from me that it's worth the drive. Definitely recommend...
Tucked away in the corner and with a hidden parking lot in the back is this large space with coffee and warm pastries. I enjoyed my ham and cheese croissant. Be aware. It's a large one! I also picked up the plain and chocolate croissants. They were equally delightful. Next time, I'm going to bring my book and post up in the patio in the back. Will come back.
The food was quite boring. The guinea fowl was bland, no flavor. However, the service was extraordinary. I did not get the batista's name, however the attitude was heavenly, out of this universe.
I've been coming to the Bread Lounge since they opened... it was great back then, but with a couple years, it has truly refined something already great, into something really special. I've had their take on a meatball sandwich upwards of 20 times and this past visit blew me away. The dining space has expanded with more tables and the service is fast and friendly. Don't be affraid to explore the menu, everything I have ordered has been delicious. I'll certainly be returning next time I'm in the area...oh, don't forget to get a loaf of fresh bread and some crazy good snacks to take home!
