Cozy atmosphere offering very good food with excellent service from the staff. Notable among the menu is the 21-day aged ribeye steak. Another plus is its reasonable pricing. Highly recommended place to hang out and dine.

Always have to go to this place when I'm in the Little Tokyo area. Very nice and relaxing bar/restaurant with excellent staff. The food is decently priced and mouth-watering. I always make a special trip to this place when I visit California.

Went there on a Thursday afternoon. I like good food but it was a bit expensive for happy hour. Anyhow...it was worth it. Melody is exceptional, her friendliness and helpfulness wins! Overall a 5 because you have to be honest when something is worth it.

Everything was incredibly delicious. I would give it 10/10 stars if I could. I wish OC had amazing Japanese food like this. Love love love this place. Try the grilled beef tongue! Great Japanese whiskey here as well.

This restaurant can cook. Their dishes are very inventive and they taste delicious. We had uni pasta, fried chicken wings, special shrimps, mussels and beef tongue with croutons. They also have happy hour from 5pm-7pm. It’s worth a visit.

Location temporarily moved to the parking lot upstairs! Fuga izakaya will change to teppanyaki in case you wonder why there is a permanently closed sign at the store. The food used to taste better and was more creative/diverse! We liked the Shishito pepper, garlic fries, A5 wagyu steak, and ribeye steak. Pretty chill ambience, which is different than what it used to be.

Have been here three times now for lunch. Always a positive experience. The first two times I ordered the rib eye steak lunch. This last time I went I asked for the Fuga-Bento box. I was not disappointed. The Fuga-Bento box comes with rice, miso soup, salad, and sashimi. There are four slices of the sashimi included: Tuna, salmon, albacore, and shrimp. There are two choices to include in the box. First options: salmon teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, fire cracker tempura shrimp, chicken karaage, ginger sauteed chicken, or rib eye steak(one dollar more). The second option: shrimp and vegetable tempura, California roll, or spicy tuna roll. In my pictures I decided to go with the rib eye steak and spicy tuna roll. Since this is a Japanese restaurant I complemented this meal with Sapporo. I finished my meal with a Yamazaki 12 yr whisky. Smooth. Almost tasted a hint of vanilla in it. The bartender knew her drinks and was surprised I asked about it. Overall a good, enjoyable experience. Thank you.

Such a hidden gem. It's underground but has plenty of space. The highlights were the cheese risotto she the yellowtail collar!

Great happy hour, very lowkey, at least at around 3pm when I went. Menu has a lot of options, beer is affordable as well as the appetizers. Definitely coming back.

The restaurant is located at the bottom of the stairs, it looks shady from the outside, but once you go inside you will see the great ambiance of the place, dim lighting, nice music, just overall nice setting. The food is superb! You can taste the quality of the fish used for the sashimi and rolls. My friend loved the ceviche roll. The sashimi platter was delicious. The service staff was friendly and very attentive. The prices are fair for the excellent quality of food. Good place for a date due to the ambiance of the place. You won't regret coming here.

Not to shabby. Great happy hour. Plenty of options from 2pm to 6pm. From food to Booze. $3 drafts were obviously a highlight. Tapas style dining. The risotto was unreal, we had around 7 different dishes total. All very good, enough on each plate for a twosome. Nice atmosphere, great service. Overall we would go back. If you are staying at the doubletree you get a discount, FYI.

Been to this place three times now, and every single time has been great. Amazing customer service, great food, and great drinks. Only reason we (girlfriend and me) don't go more often is cause of how special the place has become, and don't wanna wear it out. And the venue is so cool, like a speak easy. Also really appreciate the 2 hour free parking you get with their validations, as long as you park in the structure right above them (yes, I said above. Underground Japanese dive, dig it!). Don't miss the elevator that takes you directly to them! Just, we love this place. Period.

I've come here 3 different times for 3 special occasions. Each time was a wonderful experience. Everytime I ordered something, it was like the next thing became my favorite thing. The waitresses were very nice and always gladly took pictures for us. The service is very good in my opinion and the food is even better. I will keep coming back for any occasion I see fit. Thank you for the wonderful experiences.

This is not only one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in DTLA, it is also one of my favorite restaurants. Very classy and elegant interiors. You can enjoy a drink in the bar while waiting for your table. The staff are very polite and friendly. You must try their steak and the cheese risotto. Strange items for a Japanese restaurant but trust me, it's what people go there for.
