The food here is of premium quality! The sushi fish melted in my mouth. The miso was flavorful rather than salty. The service was attentive and warm. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. So grateful to have discovered this gem!
The black risotto was sooo yummy!! Surprisingly yummy for my partner since he's not a fan of mushrooms and this dish had a lot of them. The service was quick and the rest of the dishes were delicious as well. Worth visiting for sure!
Delicious food and great service. To all who complain about the price -- the menu is online and the price is known ahead of time. If you don't like the prices, why come here in the first place? You get what you pay for.
One of my favorite sushi places in LA. Such friendly staff and amazing food.
Great neighborhood sushi spot. Really nice staff and good quality fish.
I've been going to this place for years and always liked it. It's small and intimate however after re-opening after the pandemic, they've taken down some of the decoration and it was a little cold. The food however was as delicious as always.
Great local business. I ordered takeout and everything was really yummy and thoughtfully prepared. My favorite things were the: giant spider roll, aloha roll, seaweed salad, and calamari. Everything was ready on time which was nice. I will definitely order here again!
Was lost trying to find Fin's and stumbled on this wonderful sushi restaurant. Decided to give it and try and so glad I did! I love the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice app when I tried it the first time years ago at Katsu Izaka-Ya in WEHO, but while trying the same dish at many different sushi restaurants through the years, it was never the same until I tried Katsu Izaka-Ya in Manhattan Beach, then tonight...it was virtually the same! Turns out, they are related to the WEHO and MB restaurants, except prices here are very reasonable and at least at 6:00 on a Monday - no line to deal with! I was with a VERY picky sushi friend and she rarely sings the praises of a restaurant, but loves this one and mentioned her sushi was high quality. Service is also excellent! This will prob be my new sushi go-to. Can't belive I didn't know about them before. Go give them some love...you'll be glad you did. 🙂
Great place to bring the family in to dine at Hamakaze Sushi Izakaya. The front of the restaurant looks tiny but the inside is pretty big. The waiters and sushi chefs seem to know a lot of the guests coming in. It looks like a great neighborhood restaurant. The food quality is very fresh and tasty. The combo portion sizes are pretty large. Happy Hour menu is pretty big and filling.
I love supporting small businesses so I would definitely keep coming back here.
Big menu with lots of options. I was there during happy hour, which offers a good discount on their "box" combos.
The rolls taste very fresh, and the combo boxes come with a nice variety of their side orders.
Service was OK, but I only saw 2 servers handling all the tables. However, the sushi bar looked well-staffed, and I noticed most of the regular customers chose to sit there.
Parking can be an issue. But If you can't find a meter on Washington, it's a short walk from the Costco parking lot.
