I have been wanting to come here for years and we finally made it. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious, ambiance was casual and laid back, and the decor was great. Don't find Rican cuisine often ao i had this bookmarked for some time. We even got to soeak to the owner who was super nice. We had the sampler bandera, the rellenos de papa y pastelillos were stellar. Generously filled with meat and the crunch on the pastelillo was 10. The alcapuria was tasty, seemed like it was yuca masa. The pastel wrapped in hoja de platano was decent, also generous portion of pork chunks for the filling. We both had mofongo con pernil and the mofongo was super flavorful and moist, tons of great garlic flavor and crunchy pieces of chicharon. Looking forward to returning 🇵🇷!

It was good. Had the bacalatios fish fritters. They were really flat and didn't really taste like fish. Just like flat fried nothing. The yuca fries were really good. So was the black beans and rice. The dessert was delicious flan queso. Prices good. Service good.

Right in North Hollywood is Mofongos. A popular Puerto Rican dish, mofongos are green plantains mashed by hand and combined with garlic and crispy pork skin often paired with meat. The restaurant has cozy, welcoming vibes and is comfortable. It was nice to periodically get asked if everything was okay. Street parking is available, and there was plenty parking available on this visit. The plantains were sweet and absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed the crab Alcapurria De Jueyes. The sauce to go with it was pretty good, too! You can choose from fried chicken, shrimp, or even fried chicken tender mofongos. And to wash it all down? The Virgin Pina Colada with a cherry on top...! Mission accomplished!

Indulging in the rich taste of authentic Puerto Rican food at Mofongos Restaurant in NoHo! In case you didn’t know, Mofongo is a classic Puerto Rican dish made up of mashed plantains that are fried and shaped into a bowl. That bowl is then filled with savory meat, like steak, chicken or pork. I enjoyed it with chicken breasts and stew. Fun fact about food from PR… it’s NOT spicy. There are a ton of flavors, but none are caliente. It was great for lunch and paired nicely with a cold coconut water. The owner and staff are amazing and super attentive :) When it comes to the ambiance, you are transported directly to the island of Puerto Rico. If you’re looking for delicious and flavorful Puerto Rican food in LA, then Mofongos is your spot!

Came here for a mofongo and jibarito and both were delicious. The pernil jibarito was tasty but the steak and onion mofongo was a real standout. Loved how garlicky the mofongo was and the steak was very flavorful.

Love the food! Stopped here for lunch on a rainy day, luckily they have outdoor shade that was very well protected. Outdoor has much more light (sunlight) than inside and it was breezy too. Menu was pretty overwhelming for a first timer for this cuisine like me but I asked for recommendations and it turned out quite well. The server had clear explanation and didn’t confused me. The all-in-one starter plate is definitely the best value. The price was about the same as a main dish but it’s very filling. Mofongo is a must-try!! Plenty of street parking around the restaurant.

I am a huge fan of this place. They're the only restaurant within plane trips that offer authentic Caribbean Cuisine at reasonable prices. Anything guisado is a must. Mofongo is a must. The drink, Morir Soñando, is a must. Leaving full is mostly an obligation, but not a chore. I can wholeheartedly recommend the original mofongo with any of their meat choices. You really can't go wrong. The rice and beans are truly on point, every time. This trip marked the first time I tried their bacalaíto and I was not disappointed. The Mofongo restaurant is my personal gem in LA. The staff is bilingual, helpful, and extremely accommodating. Since the pandemic they've done outdoor seating that I find to be a huge plus. I cannot wait to go back.

If you're looking for a restaurant that serves delicious and authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, look no further than Mofongos. This cozy little eatery serves up some of the best Puerto Rican dishes around, but their specialty is undoubtedly the mofongo. For those unfamiliar with mofongo, it's a popular Puerto Rican dish made with mashed plantains, garlic, and pork cracklings (chicharrones). Mofongo is made to perfection - the plantains are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right amount of garlic and chicharrones mixed in. They even have a vegetarian option for those who want to try the dish without the pork. I got the Mofongos with Pernil, the plate was exactly what I needed. And to wash it down a Presidente. The atmosphere at Mofongos is cozy and inviting, with colorful decorations and traditional Puerto Rican music playing in the background. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. Overall, if you're in the mood for some authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, Mofongos is the place to go. It’s worth the trip, you won't be disappointed by anything on the menu. Highly recommended!

Finding Puertorican food in Los Angeles is difficult, but I found a perfect gem. This restaurant took me back to the island, the food quality and taste was on point. From the moment I got in, you get greeted with a lot of happiness and Puertorican hospitality. I ordered the sample platter as a starter and was yummy. I followed up with a couple of their mofongos and I literally thought I was back in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Make sure to give it a tried and let me know what you think. Keep on eating my friends and stay healthy. #chicosreviews

First timer- busy establishment/might take a bit to get food if you're starving. Be patient but once food does come out- delicious 🔥👌

Going to Mofongo made us feel we were in Puerto Rico. If you come for the first time to this restaurant I would definitely suggest you the Mofongo. They even offer a vegan option which was exceptional and delicious. The meat version was good but meat was not the best. All the food served were fresh. It is very possible you must wait for being seated in the restaurant. The service is also kind of slow but they are just two of them working.
