Love these guys. I live in north county, and sometimes I make an 11pm drive (1.5hrs there, 1.5hrs back) just for the best Food I've ever had. I always bring a buddy, and always get a whole bunch of food! The staff can be a cooky bunch sometimes, singing, laughing, yelling in mandarin, but they're all a great bunch of people over there. Okay, so maybe cleaning at the restaurant isn't that good. I don't care! The food is so good, that I just don't mind at all.
The Dim Sum game is on point!
I love that every order comes with tea!
The family style dishes are huge for what you pay!
Best Chinese in Southern California? I think that might just be.
I can honestly say it's the best Chinese food I ever had. My family and myself have been going to this restaurant for a good 30 years or more. Everything is always made fresh and big portions. I recommend this restaurant and will continue to go here. Shrimp or fish won ton soup, beef or shrimp chow fun, house chow mein, etc are a few of the plates we order. But everything is delicious. Staff is super friendly.
This place is always consistent. We drive from Riverside County just to eat here. Love this place ❤❤❤
Food was funumanal amazingly delicious
Drive all the way from Ontario to grab a bite, food plates are good portion size always leave fool have to take a to- go that chop suey and there chili mmm I love it recommended
We love eating the chicken chow menu, wonton soup with Shrimo, and the orange chicken. Very reasonable in price, has parking.
Always love eating there my kids favorite spicy pork, walnut shrimp, crispy chitterlings, the crispy noodle chow mein... In or to go service fast from going to an early lunch & or late night snack 100am...even the environment is not so hot the food & service makes up for it...
Been coming here since HS, that's 26 years and counting... Not only the food is great, but everyone are nice, specially Michael. Everyone here makes you feel at home, you can wait to be seated or you can just go in and find your table. Again food is great and you can't beat the prices. If you are looking to eat great authentic chinese food you have to come to Won Kok!.
This is the Chinatown that I remember as a kid in the 50's and 60's. The menu is expansive and authentic. The pork chops in special sauce are my absolute favorite!

I love this place I've been going to this place since I was 10 .. Love the service and the owner is amazing 🤗🤗
Dim sum here is very cheap and excellent. Lots of food for a good price. I swear downtown LA charges double price for the same exact items and same taste. Dinner meals are also great.
Skip the fried dishes and get some real Chinese food like their eggplant dish or half chicken ginger dish and some rice. We liked those dishes a lot. Cooked Chinese eggplant correctly. The eggplant dish can use a bit more eggplant though.
The restaurant should consider keeping its floors cleaner though. Not a fan of sticky floors...
My one my favorite stops in Los Angeles. This little spot is a gem. I love dim sum, baked pork bums. Food is awesome! You will not be disappointed.
When you are looking for a quick dimsum fix, go here. They have a take out window where they serve bakery items, shumai, hargow, desserts like cookies and buns. Line is always long so make sure you have enough time to line up. They have free parking but only 10 spots or less and its almost always full. There’s paid street parking or paid parking garage around it.
Great place for solid dumplings for dine in or takeout. The chicken corn soup was some of the best soup I ever had. It was a bit ubdersalted which I prefer because it’s easier to add salt than to take away. Great prices and overall a solid find with easy parking. The egg custard tarts were absolutely delicious!
Everyone knows Won Kok is pretty good, and that makes it busy. There’s usually a long line but it goes very fast. The little ladies running the takeout window prioritize speed above all else, and you should do the same. Won Kok dim sum is very cheap and sold by the piece so you can get the right amount. The downside is that their dim sum selection is very small, only the most popular options.
A classic restaurant in Chinatown with affordable prices for their three baked bbq pork buns, three steamed bbq pork buns, one sesame ball filled with sweetness, & one of their fried pork rolls. As of 11/20/2023, I got all that for around $11! I highly recommend their baked bbq pork bun.
I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items or sit in for their dining offerings.
I’ve been coming here for over 25 years. The dim sum is delicious. We paid $70 and had enough leftovers for the next day. Pekín duck is crispy and served with 2 sauces. The pastries are delicious too.
The cheapest dim sum spot in LA! 90 cents/each.
Great value and excellent quality with big portions.
I ordered the xiu mai and shrimp dumplings. You need to ask for utensils, soy sauce, and napkins. Otherwise, they will not give it to you.
There is a small window to order for to-go dim sum and might be packed during peak time, so get ready for it. CASH ONLY!
Customer service: yelling to your face LOL 6/10.
Parking: plenty and free on the side of the restaurant.
This place is your typical Chinese restaurant. Outdated tables and chairs, dirty floors, large food portions, and mediocre service.
We dined at the restaurant, although they have a takeout window that gets extremely busy. You can order dim sum from both. The dim sum menu is very limited. Most likely, the items that sold the most precovid. I will say that it was really good. Just keep it mind that these don't come in the little bamboo steamers you're used to. Instead, they throw everything you order on a platter and drop it off at your table without saying a word. We never once saw our water after the food was delivered. In addition, we ordered a noodle dish from the menu, which to our surprise was really tasty and felt authentic.
I'd definitely come back here for the food and the prices. Definitely a must try if you've never.
Best egg tarts ever and super cheap! My parents have been coming here for years, and I always stop by when I’m in town. This is the best kind of hole in the wall. Was expecting it to be cash only, but to my surprise they accepted Visa and Mastercard!
Even though there is a line at the window the service is fast. Wide variety of items in the menu. Dine in option needs renovation.
I have been coming here since the 90s, when they had more dim-sum offerings, like various rice rolls, and it was mainly a Chinese customer base. I used to go inside to get my dim-sum and it was always hectic, but fast. Now they offer only the most popular common dim-sum and you have to line up outside to get it. Inside is for diners only. When I crave dim-sum and it’s after normal dim-sum dine-in hours at my favorite dim-sum spots in Monterrey Park (usually ends at 2 or 3PM), this is the place that will satisfy my craving between 9AM & 9PM. The wait in line might be longer than it was in the 90s, but it’s still fast and cheap. Recommended dim sum items:
Savory:
- BBQ Pork steamed buns
- Pork or Chicken Shumai
- Fried Pork Balls (Ham Sui Gok)
- Curry Beef or Chicken Pastry
- Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow)
- Chicken Sticky Rice
Sweet:
- Sesame Balls
- Jumbo Cream Bun
- Coconut Pan
- Egg Custard
Parking isn’t the easiest. They do have a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, but it’s tight and fills up quick. You can always park on the street, just remember to feed your meter.
It's rare for me to think I'm "lucky" to be able to order food and hand over money but, I truly think I'm lucky and the Chinatown community is lucky to still have this place around. Delicious dim sum, that take out window should be a historic protected site, and the people who work there are truly nice. It's a throwback and inviting to newbs at the same time.
Great comfort food! We order BBQ pork, fried rice with beef buns. Everything was good except didn’t like the wait time to get the server’s attention. There busy running around with their heads cut off. 😂 They need to be more organized. Just my opinion. Enjoy! 🙃
Won Kok goes hard. You can get like so much food here for so cheap. Steamed buns and shu mai are obvious go to’s but I honestly think I like the baked buns the best. Wasn’t a huge fan of the chicken sausage and egg bun, but probably just because I don’t like hard boiled eggs and I didn’t realize that was the egg inside. Anyways this place is great, so tasty and so cheap.
