Let me begin by saying I am a Michigander and had the intense pleasure of dining here during my first visit to LA. It came highly recommended by a native Californian (my cousin) who served as my guide. After a day exploring everything Santa Monica, West Hollywood and Venice Beach we began the long drive back to San Diego but needed to satiate our ravenous hunger pangs before jumping back onto the 405. Hopdoddy is located in a very clean and upscale retail plaza surrounded by high-end apartments. The staff are what you could refer to as 'hipsters' without the stuffy attitude which perhaps undeservedly accompanies such a title. As a matter of fact, the staff are friendly, smiling and beyond helpful when it comes to questions. The menu is, as you may guess, burgers and beer, but that doesn't do it justice. Hopdoddy only serves the highest quality in both categories. If you are unaware, California has an enormous craft beer selection and Hopdoddy offers an amazing selection of them on draft. For those avoiding imbibing spirits, handcrafted sodas are available. Angus, bison, chicken paired with fresh, flavorful ingredients on high-quality brioche buns in all sorts of combinations line the menu. Be sure to try the parmesan truffle fries. Salads and black bean patties are also available for those who prefer to go meatless. This is the perfect end to your day spent in LA.
The burger I had was one of the best I have ever had! All fresh ingredients and very friendly staff.

We love it. The burgers, salads, fries and the excellent service. Love Mila and Katie. All of the staff are great.
The Lamb Burger was cooked MY WAY and was Mouth watering, and the fries were great and YES YES YES excellent service, and with a Bar, as I must go back -- but only in UBER
Very tasty and filling! Was only able to get through half the burger :) Would highly recommend if you need a delicious meal to make you full. Also, the staff at this location is so kind! 5 stars ⭐️
I got a burger that had kobe beef and I got it with a gluten free bun, melted brie, caramelized fries. Usually gf buns fall apart and are worthless but they make their gf buns from scratch and it was really tasty and hearty (see pics). I highly recommend.

It took a little while till everything arrived, even though not a lot was going on, on a sunny Saturday at lunchtime. Plenty of tables available inside and outside.
The prime time burger had a great combination of the sweetness of the caramelized onions and the steak sauce. But after two bites everything tasted sweet from the onions - bit too much for my taste.
The mushroom burger was a solid healthy alternative if you like veggies.
The sweet potatoe fries were way better than the regular fries, which were not crunchy and boring in general. You get dips which make them a bit better, but I would still recommend the sweet potatoe fries over the regular ones.
Overall solid burgers and experience.
I'm not going to lie this place called me by surprise. I had "The Buffalo" & "Nacho Fries". Definitely a 10 out of 10. My burger was so juicy and the meat practically melted in your mouth. The fries or season really well, they weren't too salty or to soggy from the salsa, guac, and sour cream. The young lady at the register was really funny and very professional. Also the young man that waited our table was very attentive. I would recommend this spot for anyone.

Initially was a little confused on how this place worked. It was moderately busy but plenty of seating inside and out. First visit was at the bar and we waited a few minutes before we were seemingly noticed. The bar tender did apologize and throughout the stay completely redeemed the lengthy pause before getting any service.
My girlfriend and I ordered a burger and shared a bowl of fries. The bowl is enough for 2 but some... may want their own. We tried the Parmesean Truffle fries and they were exquisite. My Lady had "The Classic" and I had the "Magic Shroom" burger, both "as is" for our first try.
There are truly no words... this place delivered among the best burger/fry combo I have ever tasted. Along with the beer and drink selection they had, there is a recipe for some pretty good memories here. I immediately informed my brother about this place as it was just that good. Great place for a casual or first date. They have a Happy Hour Sun-Thurs 3-6pm... highly recommend! Though I would totally pay regular price for the food I had, it's always nice to save on a drink or two.

The last 2 visits we were served by a young man named Julian then a young lady named Autumn. The service has improved dramatically. No complains. Both servers conducted excellent customer service.
The world is full of burgers. Don't have a bad one. Hopdoddy delivers a great burger at a Marina price. Burgers are consistently good, but sometimes, your burger is perfection. Great selection of beer and they have bison, which is a huge plus. They even have dairy free cheese, which is great for those who are lactose intolerant. Unfortunately all of my favorites are their specialty burgers that tend to change every so often.
Maybe because we are seniors did we find the music too loud. We chose to eat indoors over outdoors where it would have been quieter.
The aji bowl was good but the actual bowl was difficult to eat out our. Maybe a bigger fork. My husband enjoyed his burger. We will return
Trendy joint for a burger. I had the Good Night/ Good Cause 🍔, Sweet Potato 🍠 fries 🍟, and the Red Velvet Shake 🥤. The burger was cooked perfectly. The sweet potato fries came with a sweet dipping sauce. Hopdoddy is in a cool family friendly environment. I would definitely revisit again.
I have to start by saying that I really am not a burger fan. When I do eat a burger, you will normally find me gutting it by eating the inside and leaving the rest.
Well...NOT HERE! I just had the best burger I've ever had in my life.... period!
I ate EVERYTHING!!! Not one crumb went to waste. I even called my boyfriend and told him that I have to take him there because he is a burger fan!
The service was amazing but that burger 🍔!!!! Absolutely delicious...and I only got the Classic. Can't wait to go back and experience the others.
This is a definite MUST try and try again spot. Oh! And my Margarita was on point as well. I only stumbled upon this place while waiting for my car to charge. I truly enjoyed myself. Great job guys!!!!
We tried a little of everything... The parmesan fries with the truffle aoli come in a small mixing bowl!!! The queso fries are the same with a little pot of warm queso!! And they're both insane! Had the chicken parm sandwich...the fried mozzarella was perfect!!! The Nashville Hot chicken sandwich... Literally the best chicken sandwich I've had so far in my life!!
We ordered two different burgers (the classic and mushroom one) both tasted great. Service was quick and attentive as well, selection of drinks was very limited (they were out of several things). Outdoor seating was perfect under the umbrella.
Great happy hour m-th. Half off full menu sitting at the bar. Large cheap margaritas are probably the best deal in town. Also the sliders are the best thing on the menu.
