This is a great hole in the wall restaurant that has some amazing Chinese food. It's not fancy schmancy by any means BUT the food is good! We came here on our recent visit to LA and left so satisfied. I highly recommend it if you want some good Chinese food.

Some of the best restaurants are the smaller independent hole in the wall places. There's nothing fancy about New Dragon - just great food at reasonable prices!

Food is good. The floor has carpet and it looks old and filthy. Now the bathroom is the worst

I used to live in Chinatown, and went here couple times. Cozy place, gorgeous Chinese food (southern Chinese flavor) with low price.

Excellent Chinese food and an amazing lunch special. I ate at the New Dragon for the first time today. A friend who is a vegetarian strongly recommended it to me. He did not steer me wrong. I am not a vegetarian, so I ordered the beef with Chinese vegetables. There was so much food it could have fed two people. The food was absolutely delicious so I kept eating even though I was full. The lunch special has soup, rice, your entree, and Jasmine tea. My total bill was $7.15. I tipped the guy a little more than $2 and he seemed surprised like it was too much. I will definitely be going back there. It is a very simple "No-Frills" place but the food is what you go for and they have it in spades.

I ate at this hidden, hole-in-the-wall restaurant back in january 2014 not expecting much. But don't let the look of this restaurant fool you. I was very much surprised by everything in a memorable way. The portions are great, the wait staff is very friendly, the prices are affordable. The atmosphere inside is very lively, the other diners were in such a good mood to be there. Be aware that you may have to wait for a table. But the wait is worth it.

The food is delicious. And waiter there is the sweetest guy ever. Its kind of hidden but once you go inside its really nice. Its also come out in a lot shows and movies. If you want to eat Chinese food in Chinatown this is the best place out of the bunch.

The best Chinese quisine I think I've ever had. Plentiful to the point of having their plates overflowing, and the taste was amazing. I had the beef broccoli.....and couldn't finish the entire plate but certainly didn't want to leave it. Packed it up and had it for lunch the following day. Right in the heart of China Town.

Every time when I cam le los angles for business I would stop here to have my favourite fried rice. While I was eating yesterday found out they are probably closing in a month becoz the landlord is taking back the place. Hoping they will just continue to work. All the dishes I have tried here are great and really cheap. Staffs are super friendly. Stop by and have some good really Cantonese foods before they gone.

best chinese food in la. the pictures are a little unflattering on the walls, but the food looks way better irl. it also happens to be one of the top 100 restaurants in the usa, im not sure what place. the price is good as well, every dish averaging at 13 dollars. i always get the house fried rice and sweet and sour pork.

I was brought here by a friend on Monday, he spoke of this place very highly! After a try on the vegetable chow mein, it was very tasty without the oils most Chinese restaurants serve. I'd refer this place to anyone who wants to give authentic Chinese food a try!

Some of the most authentic Hong Kong style Cantonese food still available without having to go to Monterey Park! Still a bargain and in Chinatown. We always are happy to bring our family and friends here, and we always do Christmas Eve at New Dragon!
